Good product but abysmal warrantee service – Our fridge was working well until an extended period of disuse due to completing a renovation. the crispers started to freeze all of our fruit and vegetables. On calling the service centre back they reported that we would need to wait another week for someone to look at it, despite the issue being caused by the technician. They reported that we would be put on a list to fast track our issue but this was a hollow promise as when we rang back to see how we were progressing nothing had happened. This appears to be a technique to placate customers without offering any real solution. Very disappointing particularly as we bought a Fisher and Paykel fridge because of their good reputation. I would be hesitant to recommend a Fisher and Paykel fridge to anyone based on poor custom service alone.
Avoid this model at all costs – Having previously always has Fisher and Paykel fridges we thought this would be too. Salespeople in HN recommended it highly two and a half years ago. shallow and constantly cracked. Both fridge and freezer were colder at bottom half and not even. Have been advised this model is a lemon and would never buy it again.
Poor durability – We have had exactly the same freezer fan/controller/cabinet issue with this Haier manufactured, Fisher & Paykel branded 628L thing. Failed twice in just under 4 years. wasteful "built in obsolescence" industrial machine. Who wants to buy a new fridge every four years? Its an essential household item, not a discretionary purchase. My simple F&P bar fridge ts 20 years old and fine. Made locally, not in China. Till receipt not uploaded as it has faded badly. Always ask for a proper receipt!

from things knocking against it. Otherwise, the actual fridge has lots of room on the doors and shelves and easily height adjustable. Doesn't have a water filter, which we don't need. I like that it doesn't have a wine rack, which take up unnecessary room. 3 good ice block trays in the freezer. I think it offers plenty of space for 2+ people. Wouldn't want any bigger.

randomly found apple, because it could have been a few month ago! But looks fresh... The drawbacks for the fridge are the draws on the left side (freezer) it gets so cold that the draws frost and are difficult to slide open and closed. Also, this fridge wouldn't be appropriate for families who make platters as the length of storage in the fridge is quite narrow. but perfect for a childless couple who rarely entertain.
Very Good, Sturdy – This fridge is very is of a good quality. It is easy to clean and each compartment eg. fruit and veg as well as the meat section keeps the food at the right temperature. The doors have good suction and I like having the freezer with shelves for easy access. Power consumption is good as well. Very pleased. Show details

Stainless steel is NOT stainless – We found our F&P stainless steel Fridge is rusting after 2-3 years, when we moved an inevitable fridge magnet. calls 3 weeks later resulted in 'we are busy - we will call you back'. 1 day and 4 hours later they called back.
F&P acknowledged that they received the photos but had not looked at them. After a 30 second review they tried to claim it was smudges and then said it was impact. Either way they were not interested in giving advice on how to remove the damage and they certainly would not entertain repair.
They could not answer why 'stainless steel was not stainless'. It looks like dishonest advertising to me.
Maybe next time I should take a fridge magnet with me to the store and if it sticks to the frdge door - it probably is NOT stainless steel.
In my books the famous F&P is no longer 'one of the best quality appliances' - nor is their service.
Disgusted + lack of responce from Fisher & Paykel, AVOID BRAND – I have contacted Fisher & Paykel, with no responce. They are avoiding the issue! The freezer is not frost free. The fan becomes very loud. I have to constantly defrost. The fridge does not stay cool. Avoid this company!!!!!!!!! Appliances online also refused assistance. Went rusty – This fridge looks great and does work very well, it has a holiday setting for when your away to save energy, but! I had to spray the front as I couldn’t get the rusty marks of it, it totally destroyed the look of it. Obviously a low grade stainless steel. buy the best – this fisher and pykel is so quiet you do not even hear it. the temperature is even within all compartments, i rely on this as i grow my own produce and have chickens. some fridges freeze eggs while keeping the rest cool and i find my produce doesnt spoil as quik esp my in season fruit n veg. this fridge sounds an alarm if disconnectd from main power. id highly recommend this fridge to a busy happy household--- in ensures happiness Show details

fair review... firstly very quiet operation as we have a 2 story house and the kitchen is upstairs above a bedroom so NO problems with its operating noise... V quiet... Excellent lighting when you open one of its doors.. you see everything... very brilliant in fact... Actual operating Temperature is displayed for 20 seconds on opening closing of one of the doors... V good idea.. and has door opening alarm.... if one door if left open too long or should its temperature drop down below 20% of your preset setting it will sound... This fridges uses half the power of our old GE fridge... so it has latest very efficient technology that keeps the running down... we had to ring the company's help line for a technical question and we found the response to very professional.... all told... we rate this Fridge and its manufacturer to be outstanding in all respects .... and well worth considering seeing its a local product well priced... has a huge amount of storage .... so it saves money, as we can buy lots of specials and store them in this bigger fridge as there only two of us.... as larger family fridge it would totally ideal....

bought this particular fridge because I wanted a larger freezer section with our growing family and this is perfect. A whole door, plus shelves and drawers to store frozen food. It has a triple ice tray which just seems way too awesome as we never run out of ice anymore. I love this fridge. The only criticism I have is that the doors don't quite line up, which messes with my ocd brain. Other than that, perfect!!

'holiday' mode (very easy to do) will switch off the fridge part.... who thought that was a good idea, a one touch push to switch off your fridge without knowing.. lucky we noticed it early enough and switched it off.
Great so far! – A quiet easy-to-clean sleek-looking fridge. No issues with pulling the shelves or drawers out for a clean. Love the extra freezer space. So far so good! noisy, mostly silent in fact.
I wrote that around four years ago... Thought the fridge was getting unfair criticism. The fridge eventually started having trouble keeping temp. It now has an evap fan that is broken. We had our first query denied and told "we bought the fridge five years ago". Luckily, this shows it was four years and seven months + it started having this problem six months or so ago. Anyway, first paykel person did not want to entertain an ACL claim. Second person says yes we will send a service member on goodwill, but the tech will decide if the claim is valid. tech says we have to pay $130 for a callout and his labour of opening the fridge, so $210 and the fridge is not fixed. We have to pay another $210 and $60 for the evap fan part. The part is $17 on aliexpress and literally plugs in. The fridge was $868 on special. It seems like this is standard procedure for Fisher and paykel. They have been in the courts for not upholding ACL requirements in 2013. I also found out that this fridge is actually a rebranded haier model.... Hopefully this review helps someone being ensnared into paying $210 for a service and no work done.

Terrible fridge. A lemon – After 6 months the refrigerator side froze everything. Had technician out replaced all electronics. Day later freezer side defrosted everything. Few days later refrigerator side froze everything again. Have to wait days for technician. I am definately NOT HAPPY. Still no resolution. Harvey Norman sales rep kept pushing extended warranty...they knew something we didnt and didnt disclose this very important information which had we have known we would never have purchased this fridge. NOT AT ALL HAPPY!!
No issues! – Have had no issues so far! Is quiet to run and keeps everything cold. The Freezer tends to ice up items slightly even though I keep reducing the temperature, but only minor. Pretty dang good – We've had this for a while and its been very reliable.We have a large family and constantly have a great deal of food and drinks in there. The fridge is very roomy and caters to our whole family's need (5 people) without an issue. We don't find an issue with some areas being too cold but rather it is pretty constant. Not what I'd hoped for – This fridge is unfortunately as noisy as can be. The motor has a bell like sound that reminds me of an old fashioned alarm clock. This certainly isn't suitable for open space living where there noise will distract you at times of relaxation. Great fridge, good size – We have had this fridge about 3 months, very happy so far, cools and freezes better than good, possibly a bit too frozen at times in the freezer, lots of space and much easier to find things with the 2 doors and lots of drawer space. second fridge I was told they had a "fix" for the problem. The technician came out and replaced the computer board and said that should fix the problem with not defrosting. Sadly it didn't and the next time the technician came out he recommended a replacement as this fridge was not working properly either. I was offered a Fisher and Paykel French door fridge as that was the most similar size wise. I agreed to that replacement and it was delivered fairly quickly, HOWEVER, that fridge failed to cool below 12 degrees - both fridge and freezer and everything I had in the freezer defrosted. Fisher and Paykel agreed to send me a replacement (now my 4th fridge in just over a year). I am waiting to see whether this one works and then I will write a review! Notwithstanding the faulty fridges, I have found their customer service to be good although it does take a while to book a technician in (not sure if that is because we are not in the Sydney area.

storage space. Its extremely quiet and easy to clean and I love the look of the matt finish and it's resistant to fingerprints.
The only flaw I found is with the temperature control panel which is too low and too close to the door. My husband always accidentally pressed on it and changed it to holiday mode. I know you can lock it but our area always have power outage and that will turn the locked mode off and I have to reset it each time this happens. Other than that I am happy with it so far.
