VERY DISAPPOINTED CUSTOMER
My F & P 8.5 KG after 2 years started flashing too full even if it had 6 items in it. After having service guy come out $155 later with no result. He said throw it away. All I can say very poor product & absolute waste of $860 if it can only last 2years. We had a F&P for 15 years it was fabulous. But this model is a lemon. I will never buy F & P again. Very annoyed customer!!!!!
Does not use enough water to agitate the clothes when on automatic.
Does not use enough water when on Automatic. It resets itself at every wash. Clothes are barely covered if at all with water, so it does not wash or rinse clean. No lint filter so black and dark clothing are noticeably lint covered. Very disappointing as we are retirees and our wash is not a heavy soiled one. Heaven forbid the results if it were not so. I bought it on the recommendation of my daughter who has an older model and says hers is fantastic.

WHAT A MESS no lint filter
No lint filter... really... if I would of know that I wouldn't of got one... what a mess... after years of using the rotten old machine. I went and got this one. Should of just put up with the old one... REALLY NO LINT FILTER

Don't waste your money on this machine. Had an old Fischer & Paykel that lasted about 17 years. The new one has that many problems that I just want to throw it off my balcony. Will never buy another.

This was a total waste of money with a useless customer support.
I had a Hoover that was passed on by my parents and we owned it for over 20 years until I finally decided to upgrade and sold the Hoover and bought a Fisher and Paykel 8.5Kg washing machine. First biggest mistake. I bought this Fisher&Paykel WA8560G1 machine in 2016, second biggest mistake. It did not even last the 5 years guarantee given under the ACCC consumer protection. It just died yesterday and I found out that the main board had completely died, something which is common with these machines. When I rang Fisher & Paykel, I was connected t...o a call center in India and not only did the call agent not have a clue about the local laws, he was not interested in knowing about anything else but trying to sell me a repair job for the price of $450, which is more than half the price of the machine and the technician was only going to be available to look at it in a month's time. In the meantime F&P probably expected me to go to the nearby river to do my washing. I also found out that F&P has known about this issue as they have now re-engineered a completely different board and superseeded the faulty one that seems to have a CLASS issue. I was very disappointed with F&P to say the least and never ever will I buy this brand, ever again. They have digressed from being a once-upon-a-time reputable company with reputable products to manufacturing cheap and junky products unfortunately. I am certainly not a happy customer. Will go for a BOSCH or MIELE next time around.

Do not like it
Im very disappointed with this machine. Has a F&P previously and I could not fault it. It has died so I bought the10kg, expecting it to do the same.
I can't just rinse and spin
No warm or hot wash only on Allergy wash.
I look after elderly parents and COLD wash is no good to me.

hot wash??? Use the Allergy setting
After no hot wash from this machine, and many, many calls to F&P and 4 attempted repairs to get a hot wash over 6 months (no it was not the water pressure!!!)... new valves, new control board ... Finally, someone at the tech dept told my repair man these machines only have one way to give a hot wash.
Use the Allergy setting. Yep, that's the fix! And it does work, I can now get a fairly hot wash... sort of half way between hot and warm. This is the only choice. The manual says every cycle can give a choice of cold, warm or hot ... it's a lie. O...

We'd had a commercial washing machine for 20+ years while our family was growing up, but it finally stopped working. Needing a replacement (there's just the two of us at home now) we decided on the Fisher & Paykel for various reasons.
Now, we've had this washer since July, 2020 (8 months), so I've given it a good run during this time to find what I like & don't like about this washer.

Worst customer service - don't buy from F & P
This machine is only four years old, it gets used maximum once a week. Cost $1K and the suspension rods are shot. It will take a month before this part is even available to fix it. I have read a number of reviews and spoken to two accredited service / repair businesses that say this is a really common issue with F + P machines and that they all seem to break within the first 2 – 4 years.
Now come to their customer service, I have been trying for two days to get through to someone to talk to, been in a cycle of being on hold for over an hour t...o be told I need to speak to customer relations, then go on hold again to be told it is a customer service issue. An automated voice says there is a wait of one hour and then asks to confirm your number for a call back, then either cuts you off before you can confirm or the call backs have come at 6pm or 7am, hours past the one hour wait time. The last customer service person told me the system was messy and far from ideal. Never a truer statement made. I would recommend not buying any Fisher and Paykel product, should anything go wrong, the customer service is shocking. I was a fan previously. But in the last four years I have had brand new dryer, now washer both need repairs and these ridiculous wait times to talk to anyone each time. Fisher and Paykel have gone downhill, don’t waste your money.

Terrible experience with this washing machine
I purchased this machine last year after our very old one finally broke down after years of very reliable service - sadly it was too expensive to fix. I thought this machine would be equally good but unfortunately it wasn't! As other reviewers have noted, you can't do a hot wash - not ideal especially during a pandemic unless you use the Allergy cycle. If you pause to put a forgotten item in the machine restarts from the beginning of the cycle including with water. Even if it HOT is selected the machine tops up with COLD water on all cycles if ...you pause and restart. The rinse is poor and clothes do not appear to be clean. The machine is hopeless at stain removal which I have NEVER had problems with previous washing machines. White stuff is not white. I resorted to trying out different brands of washing detergent and there is no change. It is really, really loud as well. I'm also pretty sure that it has torn my sheets. And you definitely can't wash doonas. Waste of money. UPDATE: My machine proceeded to get louder until it became unusable. A tech attended who replaced the faulty part and that was fine for a short while. It then became really loud again. The machine is now being returned and I have bought a different brand. To give credit to both Home Clearance and Fisher & Paykel they have endeavoured to fix the machine promptly and when this appeared not possible have offered me an acceptable alternative which I am happy with.

Stopped working after 2 years (Out of Balance issue)
We bought this machine in August 2018 to replace a Miele front loader that was getting too small (6kg) for a growing family. We are a family of three (2 adults and a child) so very light use. It was working great for about 2 years. Around the end of last year it started stopping half way through the cycle beeping "Out of Balance". Now it happens every single use and the machine can no longer complete its rinsing/spinning cycle. It is placed on an levelled tiled floor in a laundry (of a new modern home). I can't see how this could be an issue. I...t doesn't matter if it is a full load or half load. We always use "Auto"-adjusted water level. Only 2 years old and just run out of warranty. Very frustrating! Now I don't have a machine to do washing on the second week of school term! Our old machine was used for several years without any issue. Not a happy customer.

Worst washing machine of all time
I purchased this washing machine in 2017 and have had no end of problems. The hot water wash function has never worked - I've always had to add hot water manually if I want to do a hot wash. The rinse has always been inadequate, and detergent streaks are left on the clothes if I don't do a second rinse, which is a waste of water. I have filled the washing machine to capacity, and yet when I start the machine it will keep filling, then start to empty, only to re-fill again?? If the machine is paused, even just to lift the lid to add one more ...item, it re-starts the whole cycle all over again. If I select the lowest water level, it will still fill to the top, even if there are only a couple of small items in the bowl - this is not a smart washing machine. It's an idiot washing machine. Today it no longer drains, and I have checked all through the manual to find out how to trouble shoot, and there is nothing. What? Really F&P - you cannot tell us how to check hoses, or the filter. Well this washing machine is going to the tip tomorrow, even though its only 3 years old. I simply cannot be bothered with it anymore, and I will never ever buy Fisher and Paykel ever again. Total waste of money, and huge waste of water. My advice - do not buy Fisher and Paykel washing machines unless you have lots of money to pay for repairs, and can stand the cost of a new machine in under 5 years.

Not Happy Fisher & Paykel
I had a Fisher & Paykel top loader for 14 years and loved it. When it eventually went to wherever old washing machines go, it was a no brainer. It had to be another Fisher & Paykel - bit expensive at $1,100 - but worth it because I had confidence in the brand.
How wrong I was. Right from the first load this was the noisiest washing machine I had ever heard. Chugging and clunking and banging it’s way through the entire cycle. I contacted Fisher & Paykel during COVID lockdown which wasn’t easy, but they gave me the number of a local technician t...o come out and check it. I was so shocked when he said this was the normal machine noise. I could not believe that something so noisy could pass manufacturers quality controls for use in a home. It can be heard over the top of the TV. On the plus side, the machine seems to wash as well as my previous one, and has the features I like to use. But the noise overshadows any of the positives.

Lint remaining on every wash
This was a very disappointing purchase. I read after buying it that you need to buy a separate lint filter. I haven't done that yet as I thought - why on Earth would you need to buy extra parts for a machine to work to a basic level of quality

Too much detergent
“Sud LOC” (suds lock – I have too many suds)
• The machine has a suds build-up (too much detergent may have been used for the amount of soil in the load).
• Wait for suds to dissolve (about 20 minutes).
• Restart the cycle from the start (do not add more detergent).
• Ensure that you are using a Top Loader type detergent.
my machine fills when set for 50 min wash, it fills then goes to 28 mins and empties without washing?
