I love this machine
AWNA62 Black (2nd Gen)I replaced my faithful Maytag with a Speed Queen because a Maytag wasn't available at the time. I am super happy with my Speed Queen and I'm glad the Maytag was out of stock. The Speed Queen has a much bigger bowl and takes less time to do a full load than the Maytag. The only thing I miss about my Maytag is that it had a timer where you could tell how far through the wash it was. The Speed Queen gives no clue about this and if you stop the wash for some reason, you really need to start the whole cycle again to make sure you don't miss part of it.

Now after reading many reviews and speaking to people who own speed queen washers I decided to purchase one in April this year (2023). Now the price tag is somewhat scary but they are worth every cent, they are built like a tank and weight about the 85kg mark, they are basic controls and wash our clothes perfectly every time without fail. ... Read moref wasting money on fancy brands with electronics that simply fail or struggle to wash properly and can't get parts for. I highly recommend the speed queen, the build quality puts most other brands to shame and that's putting it politely we have NOT had any out of balance issue it just seems to wash without any drama's. Costs however is a factor you need to take into consideration when deciding to purchase one. The warranty is excellent, the life expectancy is VERY impressive, AND ITS FULLY serviceable. I will also note speed queen BACK their products and offer great support too.Purchased in for $3,295.

Absolute workhorse
AWNA62 Black (2nd Gen)This washing machine can handle anything I throw at it. Greasy, muddy work clothes are no issue. A full set of sheets/doona cover all in one load without throwing a hissy fit. I can smash through the washing in no time at all!

AWNA62 Black (2nd Gen)What I love the most is the size and solid build of the Speed Queen washers and dryers. The capacity is fantastic creating less washes saving us power, wear tear & money. The simplicity of controls also makes for a fuss free washing job. It should be called ‘Speed Clean’ because that how I get through the washing (and drying) at our home with the Speed Queen range.

Easy to use washes very well no problems with different materials. Cycle times good and great results on all programmes looks very basic but don’t be deceived

Best Washing Machine
AWNA62 Black (2nd Gen)We bought Speed Queen washing Machine AWNA62 in July 2022, so we had enough time to make assessment of it. It is an excellent machine, the best so far we have used, and we had used quite a few others of different makes. Our thanks to sales staff of Harvey Norman of Caste Hill for advising to buy this machine and technician of Costello & Co. of Auburn for installing it. They did a great job.
The machine is very efficient, all clothes of different kinds, including delicates, are washed very well and it runs smoothly. Very pleased and very highly recommended.

AWNA62 (1st Gen)Over our almost 50 years of marriage we have purchased 3 washing machines. The first 2 were reconditioned and the 3rd was a Speed Queen purchased new. We are extremely happy with it (but the bowl was smaller than expected). Having metal parts and NOT being a ‘smart’ appliance are the best. The cycles are fast and give a good clean wash. We highly recommend our Speed Queen.

AWNA62 (1st Gen)My Speed Queen washing machine stopped working for the first time in 9 years. My husband found that the drive belt was broken. Local service agent couldn't fit us in for a whole week so contacted Speed Queen direct. They gave us very helpful information and sent the part we needed express post. It arrived the next day and my washing machine is working again. Very happy with the service we have received.

Questions & Answers
We love our machine but are having problems periodically with the machine stopping working when it's full of water, and also not spinning out very well so the clothes are still left fairly damp. It does not happen every time but every 4 or 5 loads.....after stopping and restarting it work but takes a few times before it does. Has anyone got any suggestions to the cause?

Curiously I can't suggest a reason why, but would recommend that if you give 1300 927 437 while in front of your washer and they can troubleshoot over the phone and if necessary arrange a service call.
How to replace the on and off button
I am using the High Efficency option (by mistake) it's now gone into the soak part of the cycle for the 3rd time then starts to wash again about 40 minutes later. How many times should I expect this to happen before it finally pumps out the washing water and contines through to the end.
