Great until the head-seal washer needed replacing – Initially after purchase I would have rated this as 5 star. Now I'm rating as a 3 star due to valve failure. Today noted water running into the pan ... I heard a buzzing electronic kind of noise was coming from somewhere in the cistern unit. A red light was lit in the sensor on the top. Lifted the cistern lid and water was spraying over the… Read more

upper part of the central column and the battery box. Opened the battery box and there was water in the battery box. Looks like the head seal washer had failed. Guessing the electronics became wet and it shorted out.

The waterproof battery case turned out to not be so water proof. As per the warning on the instructions, don't get the electronics wet or the valve may malfunction, well, the valve malfunctioned and now the water just keeps flushing into the pan.

I then removed the wet batteries and and dried the inside of the battery box. Fresh batteries put in, plugged back in. Turned water on. It appears the valve is not closing. No response from the sensor.

Going to let is sit for a few days to dry out and see if that helps.

With a 2 year warranty on the sensor, I thought, great! It's covered. But now I found in the fine print a sentence about what is not covered by warranty....if the electrical components get wet, warranty is void. At $190 to replace because of a poor design (or was it a smart design to make you replace early?) I am now hesitant to replace as the same thing will probably happen again when the washer wears out.

12/10/2023 Update on the head-seal washer & valve being stuck. I went back to the place of purchase and they referred me to the manufacturer. I filled out a form on the manufacturer's website and a nice lady named Maria contacted me the next day. She stated that the malfunction was not known about and sent a replacement unit to me. I fitted the new unit and I turned the top of the inlet around so the head seal is now facing the edge of the cistern and away from the central column with the valve and wiring. Working as intended once again. Changed my rating from 3 stars back to 5 stars based on my experience and the fact that the malfunction was very unusual.

Great Hygienic Product – I purchased my FIX-A-LOO Hygenix Touchless Sensor Cistern from Bunnings for $175 a few months ago. The idea to flush the toilet without touching anything is appealing especially with the current COVID crisis. To half flush the toilet one must wave their hand above sensor and for full flush one must hold their hand above the sensor. So far all is… Read more

working as it should.

My only complaint is that I would prefer that the sensor flush would work at a higher height. Currently I have to wave my hand close to the cistern.
