I've had the Caroma Urban II cleanflush with bidet for some months now. Great toilet, love the no-rim clean flush feature, and also love the slim… Read more

line.

The bidet is easy to use; it also has a self-clean feature. The remote comes with the bidet, or you can control it on the side of the unit.

It's a fantastic clean-line bidet/toilet. The bidet has four heat settings for the seat, water, and air. You can also set the toilet seat to automatically open and close.

The biggest issue with the bidet is the reset unit is within the toilet unit. It's extremely hard to lift the bidet seat out of the toilet unit and reach under the pipes to locate the reset button.

I had to call my electrician over 15 times to come & reset the toilet for me as it kept shutting down, which means you cannot use the bidet features until it's reset. I also had the electrician to relocate the reset unit outside of the toilet.

My plumber put in a service call to Caroma as the reset should only go out when power goes off. Caroma service were really easy to deal with, kept me updated when service would be. The bidet unit was replaced within 14 days, and the plumber told me this is a known issue with the unit & they are working on it.

replacement one within 48 hours. Big, big saving in toilet paper, we breezed through the panic buy fiasco with just a few rolls. Because we don't use the dry function as much as we should we use about 3 sheets of paper per visit. Major issue with the bidet is when using a normal toilet, you just never come away feeling properly cleaned.

I bought the Evekare Smart Bidet Toilet Seat from Bunnings about a month ago, and had it professionally installed by a plumber. So far, my experience… Read more

with the seat has been fantastic, despite a few minor shortcomings. This is a living review and will be updated as my experience with the product changes.

The Good Stuff:

The seat is surprisingly sturdy and feels quite well built for its price. While it's too early to tell if it'll stand the test of time, the product's 3 year warranty is comforting, and I trust that Bunnings will be helpful if I need to use it.

A few reviews were saying that the spray pressure is weak, which has not been my experience. Even the default middle flow setting consistently does it's job adequately and cleanly. As someone who's travelled to Japan many times, the pressure is roughly similar to that of washlet bidets in Japanese toilets. The temperature settings are easy to adjust and respond instantly.

The seat warmer is a fantastic addition and pleasantly surprised me the first few times, especially after years of sitting on cold toilet seats. You can adjust the level of heat or turn it off altogether via the remote, and thankfully the remote remembers the seat warmer setting, unlike some other functions (more on that later).

The seat has a deodorising function that activates as soon as someone sits down. It makes a faint sound, like an air conditioner, and pulls air from the bowl through an activated carbon filter to prevent odours from spreading into the room, which is a nice touch. I can’t say for certain how well it works, but it seems to do a decent job.

The seat has a blue LED lighting that illuminates inside the bowl (see photos) when a sensor on the seat senses the room is dark. The blue light permeates the room too, but isn't overly bright, which I quite like. One review I read claimed the light couldn’t be turned off, but that’s not correct. According to the user manual, you can toggle the LED light on or off by holding the posterior cleaning button on the side panel of the seat for five seconds.

The Minor Shortcomings:

The remote control lets you adjust four settings: spray temperature, spray position, spray flow, and seat warmer level. Unfortunately, only the seat warmer setting is saved permanently; the spray settings all reset to default after a short time (possibly around 10-15 minutes). This seems intentional, and I can see the reasoning - most seats are shared, so people probably don’t want the previous user’s settings. I live alone, though, and it would be nice not to have to adjust the spray position every time. It’s a minor inconvenience (literally just a couple of extra button presses) but having the option to save a default would be a nice compromise for both scenarios.

The seat has a dry function, which you can use after spraying to dry your bum. It might just be that my expectations are too high, but running the dry function at any temperature (even the hottest) for the full two minutes (it switches off automatically after 2 mins to prevent bum burn) doesn't seem to make a lot of difference for how much water remains. The dry function also produces a faint plasticky smell, which is probably just because the unit is still new. I expect the smell to fade with use, but in any case, the dry function doesn’t feel very effective. As I said, I may just be expecting too much.

Great until the head-seal washer needed replacing – Initially after purchase I would have rated this as 5 star. Now I'm rating as a 3 star due to valve failure. Today noted water running into the pan… Read more

... I heard a buzzing electronic kind of noise was coming from somewhere in the cistern unit. A red light was lit in the sensor on the top. Lifted the cistern lid and water was spraying over the upper part of the central column and the battery box. Opened the battery box and there was water in the battery box. Looks like the head seal washer had failed. Guessing the electronics became wet and it shorted out.

The waterproof battery case turned out to not be so water proof. As per the warning on the instructions, don't get the electronics wet or the valve may malfunction, well, the valve malfunctioned and now the water just keeps flushing into the pan.

I then removed the wet batteries and and dried the inside of the battery box. Fresh batteries put in, plugged back in. Turned water on. It appears the valve is not closing. No response from the sensor.

Going to let is sit for a few days to dry out and see if that helps.

With a 2 year warranty on the sensor, I thought, great! It's covered. But now I found in the fine print a sentence about what is not covered by warranty....if the electrical components get wet, warranty is void. At $190 to replace because of a poor design (or was it a smart design to make you replace early?) I am now hesitant to replace as the same thing will probably happen again when the washer wears out.

12/10/2023 Update on the head-seal washer & valve being stuck. I went back to the place of purchase and they referred me to the manufacturer. I filled out a form on the manufacturer's website and a nice lady named Maria contacted me the next day. She stated that the malfunction was not known about and sent a replacement unit to me. I fitted the new unit and I turned the top of the inlet around so the head seal is now facing the edge of the cistern and away from the central column with the valve and wiring. Working as intended once again. Changed my rating from 3 stars back to 5 stars based on my experience and the fact that the malfunction was very unusual.

more plastic or a few more supports would have probably been a good manufacturers upgrade. Will need to find another brand with a more ridged seat to replace the Kogan unit.

Comfortable to sit on. Flushes ok. Not too bad to clean behind the seat. The drainage part of the bowl is a regular size, it’s not one of those silly little outlets, nor a German style shelf pan.

simplifies operation. The cleaning functions are exceptional and varied, contributing significantly to a feeling of greater hygiene and health for my family. The build quality has remained impressive even after two years; there have been no color changes or cracks, and the seat is very comfortable. Additionally, it operates quietly and is water-efficient. Overall, this bidet has proven to be an excellent and reliable product.

Saw this smart toilet at the Melbourne Home Show and was immediately sold. Since visiting Japan many years ago I had always wanted a smart toilet.… Read more

This toilet has it all - heated seat, heated wash and dry functions, plays sounds, has a nightlite and even a foot warmer for the cold Melbourne nights. Auto flushing, it requires no hands on and sanitises itself and even covers any undesirable odours when required. Gary Hartley and Violetta offer superior follow up services for any concerns and queries. It is better to incorporate as a bathroom renovation as the retrofitting that I did cost almost as much as the toilet itself. Still, no regrets - just a 'warm' welcome!

one for the main bathroom also. Quick and easy to install and works great. No electricity required. Cold water only has not been an issue as we are in Qld. Two directional settings. The seat is creaky when you move around on it but that is the only criticism I have so for $100 I am very impressed. Have had the first one for around 6 months and have had no issues.

Bought Croydex Eyre soft close toilet seat from Bunnings (RRP $69.90) to go on a Novelli Cara toilet pan (original toilet seat was so complicated to… Read more

remove for cleaning and eventually broke). Croydex is a UK brand distributed by QEP Australia.

The fitting of the pan brackets was easy however the chrome plastic caps that cover the pan brackets did not initially fully click into place to cover the brackets, which I did not realise. This meant the seat did not properly attach to the brackets which have grooved metal spines for attaching the seat. When I worked out why the seat was not attaching and I pushed the plastic 'chrome' covers down that little extra further, the seat easily clicked on the bracket spines. Be careful when pushing down the caps over the brackets since it is designed to be a tight fit. One of my caps slightly cracked due to me pushing the cap down when it was slightly stuck on the bracket. The supplier has been very good with my customer enquiry and is arranging a replacement cap.

The soft close toilet seat lid and seat work well. The seat looks good. Very, very easy to attach seat to brackets and detach for cleaning etc. Good design. I trust it will last.

The brackets have an adhesive base to stop any movement (bracket designed to keep adhesive base off pan until you are happy with the location on the pan), as well as a bolt and nut through the pan holes. When bolt and nuts tightened to keep seat in place, the brackets come into contact with pan to allow adhesive to also fix the seat in place. Once brackets installed in place they can't be moved.

I have one slight regret, since this is the first time I have installed such a seat with the adhesive brackets, and that is to not line up the toilet seat lid with the front of the pan, but to have a slight overhang of the toilet lid so that the front of the actual seat itself lines up with the front of the pan. I know next time. Others might like the lid in line with the fron of the pan.

went with their advice and installed the Fienza back-to-wall suite. It has been over 6 months now and the toilet continually gets blocked and looks dirty even after being cleaned thoroughly, regularly, ie 2 to 3 times per week. Everything else in our bathroom is perfect except for this toilet. We are extremely disappointed and will be asking the renovation company to not suggest this product to their future clients. We will now have to endure the cost of replacing the toilet due to the terrible design and constant problems.

Mondello Rococo – Mine is fine, flush is efficient and quiet. Seat comfortable and doesn't move around at all. Some minimal water spray on the floor in front, which is a known rimless thing, otherwise it would be perfect. Installed by an excellent plumber

Okay for the price – We bought two of these seats from Reece Plumbing to replace the original soft close seats in our apartment. The shape is square/round as per the… Read more

image. We bought them August 2023 and already there are signs that the soft close feature is failing. They go to almost closed, then drop the last couple of centimeters. On top of that I have had to re-tighten the installation screws twice and the seat has to be removed for that purpose.

On the bright side, the seats are otherwise sturdy and comfortable, and fit our toilets perfectly. We paid $80.00 each, which was okay.

The side handles on the standard width model are almost vertical with little to no elbow room making movements difficult. The splash guard is circular rather than oval leaving a large gap at the front. For male use with seat up it is guaranteed to splash. The plastic toilet seat is noticeably shorter than the Caroma seat it replaces. Finally the leg adjustment. Curiously only one of the 4 legs has fine adjustment (13 holes vs. 7). This rules out adjusting for a slight forward tilt. An 'Over the Toilet Aid' should make toilet use easier - not introduce new frustrations. Gave it 3 stars but can't recommend it.

Not quality – Toilet seat flexes and feels junky especially for toddlers standing on the seat to reach the basin near by as they feel unstable. It is a soft plastic so may scratch easily.
