Anconda nitro Ebike conversion – I use these frames to convert to an electric road bike and had no problems ,I do replace the rear wheel with a motorised one and replace the crank with a lite pro , and I put a wider more comfortable seat and all good for $399 and spending another $150 on the bike Show details
Terrible bike – Purchased the bike in November, paid the extra price to be built in store with a 6 week check up. Didn't even make it to the check up before we had to return in. The pedal crank came loose, we took it back, he tightened it said it was good to go. Our son rode it the car and came loose again. We took it right back in and got told he rides it "too… Read more
hard" how are you meant to ride a bike? They fixed it again and told us to go to Bunnings and get the red tube of locktight and put it on the screw so it won't happen again. I can't believe we paid a couple of hundreds of dollars for bike that we have to go and put glue on. Never again will we buy a Fluid bike from Anaconda.
Not good – Seems to always be on special,. I think its a homebrand bike and it sure does feel like it, Brakes are faulty and sometimes randomly stops working, your suspensions stops working when do just one jump. Only ride this bikes on roads cause chain will fall off a lot when you are on trails or jumps. This does not deserve the name of a mountain bike, Show details
Fluid nitro, thinking of getting one – How much is this fluid nitro worth. ( PRICE ).looking to buy one.
Worst Bike – Just a road bike with Mountain bike features. You ride if off road the Derailleur just snapped and store claims that the bike wasn't designed for off road and you get what you pay for. Not for adventurous Teens, more you social road based rider. Brakes are poor. Good bike if you are just planning to ride on the road. Show details
Still not sold – I had a fluid method and then upgraded to this one. So within 2 months of road riding lower bottom bearing same noise grinding. Most other problems I had with the method haven’t risen. Had to also file back the front chain gearing as it has a few notches most likely from the mould in the manufacturing of it. So maybe I’m being hard as I had so… Read more
many problems with the method but I don’t have the joy and wish I bought elsewhere to be honest. I have a Avanti road bike now and wish I went there for the MTB.
It’s good – I have had this bike for more than 3 years and it has been up for the job. Other people complain that it’s bad but it’s really just how they treat it. I serviced and it fixed everything. Best if you get new tyres as the don’t have much grip. I have also made some upgrades and it’s the best it could ever be. Wide handlebars, short stem, grips and pedals have made this bike so good. Though the chain slaps the frame quite a lot. Show details
Poor quality rear derailleur – Very poor quality rear derailleur. My son's bent after 24hrs. No jumps or aggressive riding. After taking the bike to anaconda to fix it. Broke within 4days. Replacement online$30. It costs me more in fuel than a replacement. Show details
This is not a mountain bike – Anaconda promotes the Nitro as "a great all round mountain bike for daily trail rides". It supposedly retails at $799, but it seems to be almost permanently on sale for $399. Regardless of what you pay, if your plan is to actually use it for trail riding you should look elsewhere. After only one month and about 200km of 50/50 road and light trail… Read more
riding (no jumps), mine was constantly jumping out of gear (even after I took it back to Anaconda for adjustment), the back wheel was out-of-true, and one of the pedals broke. When I went back into Anaconda at Kawana to talk to them about the fact that this bike clearly was not up to doing what I told them I wanted a bike for when I bought it, I was told that the manager wasn't there but they would pass on my message and contact details and he would call me the following day. That was more than a week ago and I haven't heard a thing. If do plan to ride some trails or do anything remotely like actual mountain biking and your budget is around the $800 that this bike is supposedly worth, there are vastly superior options available. Bikes from Giant, Polygon, Jamis, Marin and many others will offer a better drive train, frame, brakes, tyres and fork than the Fluid. At the $400 that this bike actually usually sells for the options are fewer, but you can still get a much better bike for the money. If you plan on buying your first mountain bike to get into the sport, do your research on the sort of components you should have as a minimum on an entry level bike, because the Nitro falls well short. If you don't plan to take the bike off road, maybe don't buy a mountain bike at all. A proper road bike, even at this money, will generally be lighter, have more suitable gearing for road riding, and proper road tyres won't be worn out after only a few hundred kilometres. I for one will be putting my Nitro on Gumtree only a couple of months after I bought it for less than half what I paid ($399), and writing it off as a lesson.
big guys bike – After my fluid momentum got stolen , I decided to try the nitro model .It was a good decision . At 6 foot 3 inches and 110kg ( but very active ) , The 21 inch frame and 27.5 inch wheels together with the 2.5 inch rubber makes it great off road but still good for on road use . The 24 speed is over the top for this type of bike ..They needed a… Read more
lot of adjustment to get them right . If you are not
mechanically minded definently have the store mechanic assemble it for you . The disk brakes take
a lot of pressure to pull up on down hill stops but otherwise ok .
Trigger shifters are great . Chunky frame and the neon yellow colour look fantastic .
