2006 wlt space cab – I've owned 2 wlt couriers and they've not skipped a beat, for cheap you can buy a snorkel, larger intercooler and a 3inch exhaust and they go even better. Big end bearing, Heads, diffs and gearboxes are the problems with these apparently but ive had no troubles as i change the oils and look after mine and they towed and worked like champions, very easy to work on to in my opinion as you don't need to be a computer programmer. Show details

Another Great Ford! – Awesome car from the ground up! I purchased this cheap with a damaged cylinder head, I spent a bit replacing that and other parts, it now runs like a dream. Such a smooth ride that goes well on any terrain, no usual ute clunking or creaking. The cab is perfect, seats are comfortable plenty of leg room and only 2 seats, means the kids stay home :) … Read more

Original stereo was a bit slack so I replaced that and now its spot on, I would recommend to Courier or Ranger ute as the power and fuel usage are unbelievable. Great mileage while maintaining a good balance of power when you need it!! Well done Ford... 3 out of 3 perfect Fords I now own!!

So practical and reliable – Bought my 2.5 turbo diesel 2006 super cab 2 years ago with 175000 ks has now done 252000.It has never let me down,I do all the maintenance myself as it is so easy to work on religiously change oil every 5000, the timing belt only takes about 1 hour as it is so accessible, has reasonable get up and go on the highways with around 10litres per 100kms .Its a well put together truck its been the best value for money 4x4 I have ever owned.  Show details

2005 ford courier 2.5TD – Brought my courier 2 yrs ago with 160k on the clock. All I wanted was a no fuss 4x4 and the courier is just that. Very basic interior and vinyl coverings on the floor . I do find there is limited room in the back seats for the kids so I wouldn't recommend distance travelling with adults in the back. But one thing I will say is this car ticks a lot… Read more

of boxes for me. I am averaging 9.5lt/100kms, have taken it through out the Western Australian gold fields, beaches and other longish hauls and the thing just does it with no fuss. I do drop oil and change oil filter every 5000ks and fuel filter every 10000 ks. I find the gearing a little high but I only sit on 100ks whilst on highways any faster and my economy drops. I don't do any extreme 4x4 ing but this car has taken me to where I want to go with ease and would recommend it as you get a good bang for your buck. Car has 190k on the clock.

Perfect First Ute – Purchased second hand over a year ago and no problems at all. Replaced battery and glow plugs shortly which fixed the starting issue. 2.5TD has plenty of power for me while continuously using 10L/100KM. Plenty of space on the tray as it is a single cab and handles a good load of gravel with ease. Handles really well for a tradie ute. It has never… Read more

let me down and aslong as they are maintained well they are a decent vehicle just go easy on 5th gear with the turbo diesel. The extra torque can strip the bearing so drop back to 4th on the hills and stay out of 5th while towing.

Heap – Have had my curried since I bought it new in 2005 had nothing but trouble with this car. I have changed the starter motor, the left hand drive shaft 2 new. Batteries, put a new clutch in it and now for the bog one I have had to change two cv joints, the slip joint on the tail shaft and the car has only done 120000km, it had cost me loads. And I… Read more

have had to cut and shut the tail shaft as you can not just buy the cc joint you have to buy the whole tail, it only comes in one peace at a cost of $4800. Never will buy a Ford again. Not much Lots

Ford Courier 4x4 2005 V6 – Pretty good overall. I've got the 4.0l V6. PH Upgrade. Super cab. Economy is shocking. About 20ltrs per 100 k's. (that's right) 80 ltr tank gets me about 400 k's. But - goes like hell. Heaps of grunt. I've had it for about two years and I've changed the starter motor and thats about it. For the price, compared to a Hilux or Navara, it's worth… Read more

it. Realistically. any repairs minor or major, you would be out in front because or the money you save on the purchase price. I paid $15000 two years ago.

In the wet with nothing in the back, has a mind of its own on roundabouts. Gotta be careful. Locks up easily too if you have to break suddenly. ABS would be awesome in these utes. Smooth ride and not too noisy. 4x4 is ok.I've had mates get stuck where I didn't and I've been stuck where my mates weren't.

I've got a mate with the same year and type except for its turbo diesel 4 cyl. For him, nothing but trouble. From the motor in front to the diff in rear.

Overall I love it. Initial cost (value for money). Heaps of grunt. The worst fuel economy. Could use ABS.

Good – Fuel economy is 10.8L/100kms mixed driving in a diesel dual cab giving around 600ks range out of a tank. Lot easier to park and maneuver around town than the Navara D/C that I drive for work. Good secondhand value, reasonable turning circle, capable 4wd, remote locking hubs. Low range is low which makes it useful in tough going. No power under… Read more ·  1

2000rpm at which the turbo kicks in and all is good. 5th gear could be higher for better highway travel (noise/economy) as it is reving abit high at 100-110km/hr.
