Hi, i have A 2008 Ford FG Ute, LPG, super Cab. I paid $4000 for it last year, it's my first car and was sold it by my supposed friend. The kms are 277899 atm. I've just been told by another friend I'm better off getting another car. What do you think. Repairs needed are: Front struts, Transmission mount broken, extensiin housing seal, rear shackle bushes, gas tank out of date (car runs on LPG), Lower Arm Control Strut Mount Bushes, Replace Front brakes, Drivers Door Inner Handle, Handbrake needs to be tightened. HELP!

Bluearths are quiet tyres. Make sure you have the right tyre pressures unladen.
Buying a 2008 ford fg xr6 dedicated gas ute,
While testing the car I noticed when i rev and hold it at 1800 the car revs to over 3000 by itself during idle, is this normal? I've searched for an answer but I can't find anything to explain it, never had this with any cars I've owned and driven.
I've never owned a turbo version only naturally aspirated units. I have never experienced what you described either, sorry. I have found though, that often, those idling issues with the 4.0i Barra engine can be connected to the sensors related to the fuel delivery system. The TPS or throttle position sensor is an integral part of this and communicates with the ECU. A faulty ECU can muck everything up. A reasonable first step would be to whack the diagnostic console into the connector near the fuses above your bonnet latch lever. See what DTCs or problem codes emerge. It may be something straight forward .....or not.

I am looking at a 2009 FG,it has 318000 K on the clock already..what is it worth with this many on the clock?
Depending on the condition of the car. If it’s an N/A xr6 and not a turbo than you shouldn’t expect to have to pay any more than $4000 for it with that amount of KM’s on it

I am looking at a 2008 lpg ute and asked the dealer what capacity tank is fitted, to which he could not answer. I would like to take this ute out into the bush, but I’m concerned about range. To be practical I’d need a range of around 600km. The dealer sent me a photo of the compliance tags and I noticed there are two serial numbers for “containers” does that mean it has two tanks?

Hi Reg, From what I have read, the ute has a "useable capacity" 92 litre tank. This takes into account that the tanks can only be filled to 80% of their total capacity, to allow for fuel expansion when they are full. You should have no problem achieving a 600 km range, but I would suggest checking LPG availability in the country. I think you are correct in saying that 2 tanks are fitted. On the number (rego) plates I have 2 LPG fuel tags fitted to each plate which I believe means 2 tanks are fitted.

Any after market gps will fit your cqr provided you hqve a spare cigarette lighter plug in . Whats more tney are cheaper to update than those provided by Ford
Hi there. I have a annoying rattling sound when going over bumps on the road. Seems to be inner guards rattling all over the place but have been under and tightened everything and replaced dodgy clips.
I'm out of ideas.
It might be something loose it there or its coming from somewhere else

Get under the car with it running and check the support hanger near the rear of the system, see if you can hear it while you're under there. from memory a few people have found these come lose every now and then

Theirs a plastic flap under your rear mudguard, they are held on with buttons, if they come loose they hit the mud guard which makes a metal sound

I love mine. It's a dedicated LPG model. But I live in Queensland. I've heard that they can be difficult to start in colder climates.
im in the market and looking at buying a2008 bf falcon mk11 ute for towing a horse float about 1900-2000kg will the falcon do a good job do they have strong transmissions and chassis e,t,c
In regards to your towing requirements you may want to talk to a ford dealer as the falcon models have varying towing capacities. You would also need to make sure that you carry some weight in the ute as they can be a bit light in the rear if un laden. Good luck .
if you put the 2300 kag towbar on it you will be fine aslong as the trailer has brakes .
Hi I recently bought a 2008 falcon ute, 3 seater so column shift. It had only done 47000 k so was just run in. I notice an unusual shudder when waiting in drive. I,ve had other previous model utes and never experienced this. I took it to local ford dealer who updated the comp chip and checked it over. They said couldn't find anything wrong, thought maybe exhaust rattle?. Not really satisfied. Should I go to reputable transmission experts to see what they think? Also would it still be under warranty Evan though an 08 model?

My car had the torque convertor replaced before delivery and then at the first service. The transmission was replaced at 5000km all without me knowing that there was a problem. The car felt fine. By all means take it to someone for a second opinion and try for warranty, you never know.

Yeah a trustworthy honest and reliable transmission specialist would really know what they are doing and used to it so try that if you like
It could be a number of problems / also what you could do is to take the vehicle to a mechanic that's been at fixing cars for at least 20 to 30 years
