Fuji Micro F6200RI

well over 13 years of service in cyclones and Vincent tornado outages – After reading a lot of negative reviews here as a heavy diesel mechanic i have come to the conclusion a lot people here complaining about having to use choke on remote start have little to winge about at all. Then the others complaining about revs going up and down are even worse. Fridges and air cons turning on and off will do that on a small… Read more
gen set . If you don't want that to happen you should have bought a 10kva gen set . In the last 85 hours of power outages this 13 year old NON electric start fuji micro has run for most of that continually only stopping for fuel and oil checks. Its run a aircon (520watt daken split system bedroom modle with the door open to cool down the house. 3 dc ceiling fans , 2 fridges, 65'' sony tv, internet modem, laptop, coffee grinder and life carried on as normal. we cook on gas so dont expect to use a electric fry pan, kettle, toaster on this modle. My only dislike about this china is gen set is the lies about its out put . Mine has a 2600watt decal , the new ones tell lies . Believe me its only a 2.6kva gen set and gensets should only be run at 1/2 there out put if run continually so 1300 watt running 23hours a day . Its still sold at crazy sales today . Buy a gen set with twice the capacity that you will ever use and you wont be bitching about its performance and reliability. In 13 years all its cost me is oil , fuel and a $7.80 22mm Stihl chainsaw fuel bulb as the original one perished , As a temp fix i used the tip of an Ansell rubber glove . i would buy this gen set in a heart beat again. It has power output use meter to keep track on load and what other appliances you can add . run time hours to let you know to do an oil change every 25 hours . Its sat in the shed for 8 years and becasue i always turn fuel off to shut it down it started 2nd pull. don't leave them with stale fuel or it wont start.
Looks can be and usually are deceiving – Ran ok for about the first 20 odd hours then it would crank and not start with remote unless manual choke was used. Always used clean fuel. After servicing and difficulty changing spark plug (supplied) it was no better. Persisted for many more hours then it wouldn’t stop using key (yes, remote switch off). Had to press red stop button. would trip periodically even when running a constant 2.4 kw load. Another 30 hours later fuel primer bulb started leaking. Also motor would rev up with no change in load and when checked output voltage spiked at 192 volts.
Older F6200 Carburettor version fantastic !!! – I seem to be the lucky one. Bought mine about 10 or more years ago at a really good bid price from Auctiondottcom (associated with Edisons and Mytopia), and it's been fantastic even though I mistreated it very badly over the years. My luck may have been that it was a carburettor type, and NOT fuel injected. It was run for weeks during trips… Read more
without any care except adding more fuel. Used to get 12 hrs continuous running on ECO from 8pm to 8am keeping up power to my batteries (20 Amp charger) and fridge and freezer, and Foxtel. A little less when running the aircon during the day or night. Only gave it fresh oil when it stopped and wouldn't start because oil was low. (About 4 or 5 times in it's whole life.) This may have been it's death knoll. Started it earlier this week for power outage. Display was blank, but power was ok. Tried to start it later in the week, and it wouldn't start. Oil was very low, so I refilled it. When started, motor ran very slowly like an old chaff-cutter and wouldn't rev. I wonder if the recent problems people are having might reflect on new electronics and fuel injection. I'm now looking to purchase another OLD model like mine, which runs more than 10 minutes like new ones.
This is my second Fuji micro 3.7kw F6200 gennie over 5 years . John from Queensland – First one , carburettor model became difficult to start until I sprayed Wd40 on carb links . Fuel injected model is magic . Tip for flat battery , fit 20amp isolation rocker switch on bat pos lead and mount switch on top near carry handle . No more flat battery . After viewing it ,3 Carravanning friends have purchased same and fitted switches . Show details
Not Happy – when purchased new, battery did not last overnight, always flat. gen purchased as a back up therefore over 5 years only used as emergency and no more than 10 minutes each time to a total of approximately, 15 hours. Today we had a bad storm and lost power I wanted to use it as usual and it struggled to start, within 2 minutes it started to rev up… Read more
high, no power, then just died. I pulled it apart and found all electrical cable ties deteriorated most parts loose, spark plug impossible to pull out and the primer rubber cover cracked loosing fuel. Spent the rest of the day looking for a replacement does not exist in Perth and told to take it to the tip, online it cost $51.17 "Pick attached" you have to be kidding, even had problems finding a spark plug. Would not buy another Fuji micro any time soon. Oh by the way, this unit is given as a 4KVA. nowhere near.
Of doubtful integrity – Interesting to read these reports. I bought one of these generators and was very happy with it until at about 30 hours on the clock. I gave it a service (qualified mechanic) and took the covers off to get to some loose studs. Cut a long story short I started it after the service and it ran ok. Few days later started it and it ran poorly, revs… Read more
fluctuated (clearly electronic throttle not functioning) all over the place and no read out on the digital display and no 240v output. Pulled the covers off again and found a fault which I blame myself for. Bought a new inverter/ mother board for about $200 dollars fitted it, no better. Asked for advice and didn't get any so ordered a new regulator for about $90, still no go. Checked all the phase windings and no obvious fault there. so everything checked and still a problem. Each time I asked for advice or clue was told to send it back to Sydney (I too live in Adelaide) and they would charge me $90 just to look at it plus $90 an hour for any repairs so just not economical. The thing is still sitting under the bench and each time I look at it reminds me not to buy anything from them again. Having said that I would buy (at the right price) a stuffed one I can use for parts just to prove a point
Reasonable generator for the money – Apart from being a little noisey the generator has run well over the last 4 years. I regularly change the oil and run it for 20 mimutes every 8 to 10 weeks to keep battery charged. Show details
You can't get a quart out of a pint pot! – All of these cheap Chinese generator inverters claiming around 3.7kW output should be banned and the importers distributors given steep fines for misrepresentation. Look at the engine specifications; usually a 150cc engine producing 3.5 hp at 5,000 rpm. 3.5hp is 2.6kW and that is gross output from the engine, less (power factor due to transmission… Read more
loss) will be delivered to the generator. So where does the other 1.1Kw come from? These generators are either the magic wonder of eternal power, forever sought by mankind or they are the heaps of garbage reported by buyers.
F6200Ri – I purchased the Fuji Micro F6200Ri in December 2016 during the week long SA power outage. It has been used for a total of less than eleven hours and now has no 240VAC output and of course is out of warranty The USB and 12v outputs are OK. A local SA repairer has told me a new one is cheaper than repair. I contacted Edisons for a circuit diagram… Read more
or any technical tips on what might be wrong and was told to bring it to Sydney ( not practical, I am in Adelaide) or to take it to a local repairer who should contact them.Already done that. They say get a new one. Stay away from Fuji Micro no practical back up. I have read three reviews with the same problem at approx the same running hours
Fuji Micro is a piece of S..T – I purchased one of these units from Mytopia and within 10 hours of use the revs were running high and low with no 240 volt power out of the outlets... I called Mytopia to recieve no back up service but lip service that went no where. hopeless!!!! Do not buy from Mytopia they are a scam Show details
Same problem - as other reviewers – Have had the generator for over 12 months but only has 6 hours on the meter. I sent to a small engine mechanic and he said to take it the tip. Would not buy another unit. Starts and runs but no 240V power. What, what else can i say the generator is no good and no back up from the sales, have now dumped it at the tip. Show details
On second one and still no good – Purchased first one on ebay, at exactly 10 hours unit started revving crazy no power, unit replaced by seller no worries, second unit - same problem at same hours. What a piece of junk. Have had similar ones that are magnificent, but note there were not the EFI units? Damn Show details
Excessive revs when started with nothing connected also there is no 240 volts AC power output – To MYTOPIASTORE on Friday 02/02/18 (E-Bay return request, Product faulty - current) At the present time I have a Inverter/Generator which looks good but is of no value to me and I also feel that pulling the Generator apart will void any waranty. I will find out the cost of sending the Generator back to you. If the cost is very high, I may as well… Read more
take the Generator to my local Rubbish Tip in Tyabb. I have only started this Generator 3 times since receiving it and found it to be faulty. I am very disappointed in this product and would not recommend
it to anyone. At this stage this product is a total waste of money and dealing with Mytopiastore is at this stage a
a total waste of time. I can only hope E-Bay and Paypal steps in on the 7-3-18 and I receive a refund. Cal 03/03/18.
March 5th 2018 Update: Fuji Micro Inverter/Generator F6200RI
Hi [name removed], Today is Monday 05/03/18 2.18pm and at this stage I have paid for a Inverter/Generator which is faulty (Revving excessively and No 240 volt AC power output). As I am getting nowhere with Mytopia I am asking E-Bay to "Step in" and also referring this matter to Paypal. How would you like to purchase a new machine and when you receive the machine it is faulty. If I had purchased the Inverter/Generator from Super Cheap Auto and it was faulty Super Cheap Auto would have changed the Generator over for another one or given me a full refund today. I am very disappointed with this Fuji Micro Inverter/Generator and extremely disappointed with the after sales service from Mytopia. I am today seeking Legal advise as I do not intend to be left with a faulty Inverter/Generator which I paid for to your Company in good faith. Cal 05/03/18.

Know better, choose better.
Not happy – Glad some folks had luck with theirs. Had problems with mine from day 1. It is hard to start, battery is forever flat. To start you need to unscrew the back to access the choke, bad design, then you need to connect the battery to a external one then it starts good, so much messing around. Of course the battery is a special so you cannot go buy… Read more
one off the shelf as the shelf ones are 10mm too wide to fit the space. Gave up trying to start it with pull string, too hard. Informed Mytopia but got messed around till warranty expired. Gave up with them. Will not buy or recommend anything from Mytopia. If you have a problem, you will be stuck with it. Also these generators are not 3.2kw as advertised, they are 2.8kw at best.
What a great generator – Bought this on special at Edisons for the caravan. Great unit runs the aircon and charges the batteries no problems. Does Not even break a sweat, Remote start a great feature especially if its cold and wet in the morning and you want that heater to run to warm up the van before you get out of bed :) Show details
Not too bad for the price – The 6200RI is made by Fuji Micro as is the 5200RI which is the same except for the LCD readout (6200 has one but 5200 doesnt). The 6200RI does come packed with features over some other generators. The main ones being - An electric keystarter, a remote starter (as well as the standard pull start), The LCD which indicates output in watts, oil… Read more
condition and overall run time.
The true advantage of this generator (for me) is that at 3200 watts nominal and 3700 watts peak (for a few minutes) its capable of running all appliances in my motorhome INCLUDING the air conditioner which alone draws just under 3000 watts.
The Electric start (either by key turn or remote which fits on a key ring) is an absolute God-send, and saves much effort to madly pulling the "zip" start.
The generator has some handy overload and failsafe systems, such as a low oil cutout and over wattage cutoff.
When turning on the appliances, give the generator time to adjust. If you load it up to over 3000 watts in one go, the overload will probably kick in and stop the very efficient 150cc fuel injected 4 stroke petrol engine. On the otherhand, switch on the airconditioner, wait a few seconds, then turn on the fridge, a few more seconds, then the lights.... and the generator will cope quite well with the load up to 3.2kW (3200watts)
When you first buy your 6200RI, it does have some engine oil, but not enough to run without the oil cutout kicking in. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH OIL (I use 20W50 as that suits all operating temperatures in Australia)
A trap for some players is the internal battery. It a 12v 5Ah battery that has plenty of kick, BUT, you must disconnect it if you arent using your generator for as little as a week. The battery, other than powering the starter motor also drives the internal electrics such as the remote control. Continually opening the side case to connect and disconnect the battery is a pain so I have installed an external switch to isolate the battery. If you follow suit make sure you use 25amp cable and a decent 25amp switch.
With a 7 litre fuel tank and a miserly 150cc engine, 6.5 hours is achievable increasing to 9 hour in ECO mode.
At 28kg its a little heavy (but OK) and when full of fuel a total of 35kg makes the pull out handle and wheel a very handy feature
The sine wave inverter does produce a very constant and true output for both the 12v outlet and 5v outlet which is more than stable enough to charge sensitive equipment like mobile phones and tablets
Overall Fuji Micro build not a bad generator. Ive got over 180 hours of run time and it hasnt missed a beat (but make sure you service the oil, spark plug etc. per the maintenance schedule in the handbook)
Speaking of which, the handbook/manual covers many models in the range from the 6200RI which has all the features down to a generator that is 2000 watts with no features. Fuji Micro also build their generators under many other names; Gentech, Tradetested) a simple google search for F6200RI will find the RED Fuji Micro yet G6200RI will find the BLACK Gentech version (everything else is identical.)
In Summary... Electric Start, Remote Start, 3.2KW (3.7KW Peak), built in overload systems, a full overnight run time and a quiet engine (58Db at 7 meters) for under $800.. you cant go wrong!!

Sorry for the correction. Voltage spiked at 292 Volts which would shut down both chargers.
