it shows the speed you are doing with a red background if you are doing over the speed limit, Sometimes it will show red because speed limit has changed and the map hasnt been updated, but I like the red showing. I have never used bluetooth

There are instructions for pairing the device with blue tooth and wifi on the garmin site but I have never used it.

Yep, I'd second that - I didn't install anything and it worked out of the box in Australia and New Zealand. Its also confirmed on the Garmin website.

I haven't needed one as I hang my garmin off the centre air vents above the radio, but the cord is very short, Jaycar may have something in a longer length.

Its not not something I would be using, but I am totally frustrated that three times it has told me incorrectly that I am going the wrong way on a one way street.

Lane assist is automatic (for most of the modern Garmin Nuvi models), but it will only happen when approaching junctions, and when coming up to complex lane change areas, where a picture of the correct lane is needed. It uses a split screen view, which changes back to the normal view once negotiated though it.

The 50LM, 60LM and 70LM devices certainly do, and a,though I cannot see a manual for the Australian 51/61/71 series, I would be very surprised if they do not have this useful and mature technology.
