Used on virgin shoulder length hair that is naturally light ash brown with some grey around the temples and scattered throughout. I chose this hair dye due to Garnier stating 6.0 to be a natural light brown (not warm tones) and had read reviews that it has good grey coverage and minimal damage to hair (although very hard to know which were… Read more
relevant as annoyingly on other sites the reviews do not specify which colour was used). I found this dye easy to use however that is the ONLY positive. Colour is flat, slightly orangey in the light and worst of all the greys at my temples and still there. Very disappointing experience with this home dye, on the plus side according to some reviews the colour washes out quickly. I used to use Castings Creme Gloss and found that very good, but since grey hair has started showing am skeptical that will cover them, but it can't be worse than this so will give that a go in a few weeks.
Very disappointed, poor quality box dye – Used product following exact instructions and processing time. Could still see greys after washing out the colour. After 2 washes(I wash my hair twice a week with high quality salon shampoo & conditioner) my greys have returned as if I never coloured my hair. Only been one week and my hair looks as if it’s not been coloured in 8 weeks. Very dissatisfied, will never purchase this product again. Show details
Colour is good – Will never use again-conditioner is greecy, weighs hair down & result is flat.Next day result is worse & had to wash out as hair limp & lifeless. Show details
This was perfect – Have used this product for years and found it brilliant but unfortunately for my Last four episodes my hair has ended up terribly greasy. I now have to give my hair a quick wash when I rinse the dye out of my hair instead of using the conditioner. Very disappointing with whatever changes they have done recently. My colour is good but the oil is dreadful. Show details
Not as good as it was – Used to love it (shade 6.3). Since the change in formula my hair is auburn/ginger after 2-3 weeks whereas it used to retain a warm chocolate tone for 5-6 weeks. Won’t buy again. Show details
Waste of money ! – Hair has been left very greasy even after washing it twice after and again 2 days later . The main reason I got it was for stray greys but it didn’t cover my greys at all! And left it on for 50 minutes! Waste of money will not buy again! Show details
Colour washes out – My hair is my real struggle. I started going grey quite young and am always desperate to cover it. I chose Olia because there is no amonia and it does cover the greys, but that is only until the first wash when they are all visible again. My routine is to dye my hair and leave it as long as possible before washing it, to the point of greasy. Then… Read more
I wash it and have to use a root touch up powder after just one wash, I have to re-do my roots every two weeks at the most and my hair is so dry from all the colouring. I can't afford salon prices so am desperate for a solution, not ready to go grey yet. I dread the preparation as the gloves are difficult to get on, the developer cream tube is slippery and it's hard to get it all out, all that wasted plastic too, so pointless.
Terrible product Did not cover greys at all – I tried this product for the first time after buying it from Coles yesterday. It covers no grey hairs at all. Very disappointed in Garnier for releasing it as I have to go out for lunch today and it didn't work at all. I have used other Garnier colouring previously and it has been fine Show details
Didn't cover the grey roots – I used the product as directed but the grey roots are still there. And according to their instructions, I can't use it for another 4-6 weeks! Not happy the grey wasn't covered and not happy to wait so long to re-apply. Show details
Didn't cover grey – This product was easy to use and didn't have the awful ammonia smell however it didn't really achieve full coverage of the greys. I didn't achieve very much shine either. I think I'll try another brand next time. Show details
Love this colour, very natural – I use this about every six weeks and works well with my hair. The colour is light brown which is what I wanted. I have been using this for about two years and I am very happy with the result and ease of use. Show details
No change in my hair colour. Highly disappointed – My hair is darkest shade of brown and I brought this color as the packaging mentioned that it would lighten it. I left it one my hair for exactly 35 minutes.. 5 minutes extra to get the light shade of brown. Had literally no change to my hair colour. I wish to get a refund back as I'm sincerely disappointed with this product. The picture attached is my hair right after using the product. Show details
Best hair colour – Got this on a promotion. I have only used semi permanent colour before so very nervous. Did the allergy test all ok. I suffer from serious autoimmune diseases so always wary. My meds had made my hair brittle dry and it was going grey. Olia made my hair soft thicker, glossy and colour light brown is lovely. It's really given me a boost, thanks so much for letting me try this hair colour Show details

Awful product avoid – Bought this product to cover a few greys - my crown is now orange - ginger - greys now orange - silver My hair is light brown and I am quite proud of it as it is - was my best feature. Terrible product usually get my hair professionally done but thought I would do it myself to save a few pennies. Followed instructions to the letter - even… Read more
had my partner apply the colour so that it would be perfect.
Used a timer on my phone so that I complied with the time instructions.
Rinsed it off and I could see even with my hair wet that it looked orange.
I’m now going to have to get expensive colour correction at a hair dresser.
Only positives
Low smell Thick so no dripping Nice conditioner to apply
My crown is orange - silver grey and crunchy
Good product just bad packaging – The developing bottle is near impossible to get all the product out, should be a squeeze tube like #2 or like most hair dyes, have the developer already in the applicator bottle. Poor design on applicator bottle; hard to hang onto. Keeps slipping out of my hands. Nearly dropped several times. Product once mixed is too thick. Doesn't drip but… Read more
really hard to work into your hair. Garnier really needs to redesign packaging the most though. Otherwise I like the results. I agree with some that it doesn't cover the grey that well, but by being ammonia free I guess that is the trade off.
When you don't have $175 for a salon service – I was looking for a hair dye that the EWG said was least toxic for humans. Every paraben-free/resorcinol-free choice was either a $175 salon-only product or contained the unpredictable (and always too dark) henna dyes. Olia was the best option available at stores (rated 6 compared to henna's 2). It has no ammonia and the oils are supposed to… Read more
help prevent dryness.
I am happy with this product. It covers the gray hair quite well. I leave it on for only 20 of the recommended 30 minutes as a safety against tingling and chemical absorption. My hair is initially a little darker than the box indicates but it settles after a shampoo or two. No color leakage on towels. My hair only feels a little dry the day I dye it with softer results with subsequent conditioner applications. I shampoo my hair once a week with a dye friendly shampoo and always use the conditioner supplied. I think that excessive dryness others comment on may be caused by excessive and unnecessary shampooing. Dyed or natural--no need to go overboard in the shampoo department! I dye my hair just about every three months.
At $17 dolllars--look for advertised specials and buy it for $10 or $11--this is a veritable bargain for those who do not have $175 available to go to a salon. I know people who dye their hair with black tea or pay $450 to sit in a salon chair for five hours getting an 'organic' dye job. Olia works for the rest of us. I'd give it a 4.5 if that were possible.
Terrible – Ruined my hair don’t use it !! Stick to professional hairdresser!! My hair was so dry after & split ends I wish I never used it & left it natural! I used it twice first time was okay but 2nd time was the worst !! Show details
