Belongs in the bin – Bought this just over a year ago and the graphics chip broke from general use. Contacted gator and they told me to leave basically. Even super cheap contacted them for me, same result. Spend your money elsewhere, get something that will last. Could do better with a 5$ one from Ali express. Never buying gator again, terrible company and will laugh at your face for actually buying their garbage. Show details

absolute trash – It has been only 4 months since I bought it, but it keeps turning off while driving, so it's a toy-like camera that couldn't record anything when there was an accident. absolute trash. Show details

Absolutely hopeless – not easy to set up, even the guy in store had trouble setting it up for me and it came with issues, it won't come on, not even when the engine has started, the screen just stayed black and with no video, but then even though the screen was completely black while driving it decided to keep intermittently beeping, I decided to take it back, so took… Read more

it out of car, turned it off...well it won't turn off and even after putting it in the box for return the lights are still on and it just keeps beeping, its very plastic and almost toy quality, not happy even getting it on sale.

It's a potato, don't buy – Video quality is so horrible you cant make out number plates on cars driving right in front of you, totally unusable for me. That was using the default 720p setting, other settings are just worse. Its small size was a plus as it hides behind my rear view mirror but I will be returning it. Show details

Regretful buy – This is the biggest waste of money I have ever purchased in my life. It won't stay charged for very long at all and you spend more time turning it on while you're driving than anyone should ever have to. It is a constant distraction while driving. Show details

Trouble at first But now it work great – I had trouble with mine not accepting date/time change. Took it back to Super Cheap and the guys there where really helpful and they ended up sorting the issue for me. Camera works great. The instruction manual may need looking at by the manufacturer or even the design to make it easier for people to understand.

Do not buy – Battery won’t stay charged for even 10 minutes, which makes the dash cam completely useless and a waste of money. Don’t buy this product as it will only disappoint you. Mine has also started to turn on and off without reason and record nothing and run itself out of battery which means I have to have the car on to charge it just to make the thing even start recording.

Not worth the money. Doesn’t work properly – Battery never stays charged keeps going back to 2016 date. Constant “low battery” warning after being charged overnight. Tells me “Card Full” and won’t loop and start over with the oldest file. Won’t delete the files to clear the card. Not worth the money (but then it was cheap) Going to invest in a new one, with an established name name behind… Read more

it. It’ll be more expensive, but as people keep telling me “you get what you pay for”. Buy cheap and get crap, buy dear and you get quality. I would not recommend this unit to any one. Despite the complaints, Gator products are still on the market. Why????

Crap don't buy – I was rammed the other day and I thought my dash cam would record the incident but when I got to the police station the only 2 recordings that I needed for insurance they were corrupted and useless for me to prove the whole thing... I wouldn't recommend buying a gater dash cam.. I've lost 2000 dollars worth of damage to my car because this piece of [Word Removed] didn't record it...

Silent Security riding with you – It is an unfortunate fact of life motoring is not only more dangerous than ever but there are drivers who, if not drunk or drugged, try a scam to exhort money out of you. They can deliberately reverse into your vehicle, barge through a stop sign, commit a traffic offence and blame you for their damage. Then they give you the opportunity to avoid … Read more

insurance and Police involvement for cash in their pocket. Without evidence its your word against theirs.

I've owned and used this device for about a year and very pleased with it. Paid $80 from Supercheap. Comes with a 4Gb micro card, solid windscreen mount and instructions You can set it to a wide angle or closer field of view. Standard view 140 degrees is too wide covering the whole street, the footpath and buildings, so mine is adjusted to the first telephoto setting which records the front of my big car , forward and side views. Easily change the setting with the press of a button.

It was easy to mount and run the power cord along the windscreen seal to the power supply for a neat installation. A 32Gb card recorded a 4 hour journey with clear vision and audio. Sound recording can be disabled but it's fun watching your own travel show with in car jokes. Save it to DVD.

Video evidence is court admissible so this excellent unit just may save you in more ways than one.
