General Tire Grabber HT6

RECOMMENDED!! I replaced the original Falken tyres on my 2024 Subaru Crosstrek with 4 x General Tire Grabber HT6 tyres in the 225/55/R18 size.. The Falkens only lasted a low 35,000 klms, which seems to be a common experience on the for these tyres. The Falkens were quite good tyres in all conditions but just did not last. I opted for the Grabbers when I found out that General Tire is owned by Continental Tyres, which I know from experience to be a very good brand. It was still a bit of a gamble, however, as there seem to be virtually zero reviews for them online.

The General Tire Grabber HT6 is a very satisfactory replacement for the Falkens. The Grabbers have perhaps a little more roll to them when cornering (and I do mean just a little), pointing to slightly softer sidewalls, but in terms of braking in both wet and dry, they seem equivalent to the Falkens. Put it this way, after changing to the Grabbers I have not needed to adjust my driving habits at all to adapt.

Noise levels are on a par with the Falkens, which is too say they are fairly quiet on all but the roughest surfaces.

As to how long they will last, it is too soon to tell, but I hope General Tire's advertising on these tyres is accurate so that I can get over 50,000 klm out of them, if not many more.

As an aside, the value for money, communication, punctuality, service and convenience from Mobile Tyre Shop was very good. No way am I going back to a regular tyre shop in future.
