They go mouldy within a few days of purchase. Fortunately I found Warburtons crumpets, more expensive but better in every way, and don’t go mouldy quickly.

What a disappointment, Golden crumpets are half the height they used to be, the flavour is lacking. Something so simple has been ruined by these new modifications to the crumpet recipe. Show details

nothing more than tasteless hard burnt cardboard. I wouldn't serve these to my enemies. The back of the crumpets burn before the front of the crumpet even thinks about starting to Brown.. A waste of money. There are recipes on YouTube to make your own and they're very easy. Stop buying this absolute sh!t

Love the crumpets. HATE the packaging! It really should be improved. Hard to open then can’t save the leftovers in the wrapper as it’s too torn. Needs a bag and a twist tie or something. Simple!

I usually buy a pack of Golden Crumpets once a week and enjoy them with little butter and a Vegemite on top. Coles and Woolies frequently have them on sale when you buy two packets at a time but this does not work for me as the shelf life of crumpets are only a few days. I don’t have the patience to freeze them and defrost them and this is… Read more

probably why I have never had a mouldy packet like so many other reviewers have reported. I do appreciate that they are still made in Australia and not imported frozen from overseas like a lot of the other bakery products the big two supermarket lumber us with. I don’t care if my crumpets are round or square, I just choose the cheapest option at time of purchase. Sometimes I notice the holes are not consistent and there are little patches where there are no holes on top but I can live with that. I just don’t remember this being a problem when I was a child.

All in all, they are still a great product and I’ll continue to purchase them.

Mouldy crumpets – Bought 2 packets of golden crumpets on Sunday 6th October, got to the 2nd packet today and crumpets were mouldy as there is too much moisture in the packaging. They get stored in a dry place. Show details

The Crumpet has been dumbed down – Purchased pack of Golden wholemeal crumpets, in date and fresh. Toasted and spread with butter as usual only to discover the normal crumpet has been replaced by something that ends up eating like brioche bread! No body, the recipe appears to have been sadly dumbed down to a really bad version of the traditional crumpet we have enjoyed for years. Golden Bakery what have you done!!!!! Show details

Mouldy crumpets – I am tired of purchasing mouldy crumpets. This week I decided to try again and buy crumpets as they were on sale when I did my weekly shop. I opened the pack that day to use them and of coarse I look very closely now before I toast them. Two weeks ago there was mould on both of the packs I bought ,the plain and the wholemeal and again this time on… Read more

the pack I just bought. I returned them to my supermarket last time and they swapped them over for me but I cannot keep complaining nor will I buy them any more. Very disappointed.

FFS fix the packaging – While the product is good the packaging is rubbish. Could you please provide a resealable package so that they do not go stale so quickly. Find a new way and redesign it completely so it also mostly biodegrades. Please. Just so much waste of food and more plastic in the environment Show details
