Gold's Gym Fremantle

After raising an issue of rude staff had my membership cancelled- don't go here – The gym offers cheap rates. The equipment is good. There is a lack of circulation and it's a health hazard using the cardio equipment with lack of fans and cooling. I raised this issue mgmt ignored it. membership. Shows they have a culture of retaliation against its members that speak up and raise issues. I strongly recommend not going here.

Dont waste your money – I joined Golds gym South Fremantle in good faith. However what I wasn’t aware of was the culture which comes with a level of music that could only be described as an assault. hard to do everything I could to work with it, including just doing classes and avoiding the main area. I asked for it to be turned down but that never happened despite being told it would be. When I joined there were several TV stations, one with subtitled news. Then we lost the only decent TV station and were left with a choice of 2 commercial stations only, which were repeated across all screens. Again the manager said it could be changed but it wasn’t. I finally said I could no longer use the gym due to the assaulting nature of the music/ noise/ volume. It certainly wasn’t that I couldn’t be bothered going anymore. I was definitely not the only person over 30. I saw a wide demographic attending the gym. When I tried to cancel my membership it was not accepted. If you put it in writing that you want to cancel, legally speaking that is as good as done. However I had to fill out a paper form which took weeks for them to produce. I also got charged a cancellation fee and they tried claiming that I owed 3 months worth of unpaid fees despite my not attending the gym and having said I wanted to cancel. There are so many gyms out there, it is not worth going to one which charges a cancellation fee. There is so much competition now you can easily find a gym which does not charge money for nothing. I recommend avoiding this gym unless you want to be forced out against your will and pay for it at the same time.
