Loved at first now hate it – This thing was awesome when we first got it cause it played music when you asked it to. Then we started getting stuck in the same songs over and over and over. IT's really annoying. Honestly, if Google can work out this problem then this machine will be all time! Another prob is the kids worked out how to ask for songs and now we have to listen to sh$t wiggles tunes all day. fml

Convenient and annoying – We use this thing at home and at first it was great. Then the kids worked out how to ask for songs and now we listen to terrible kids tunes all day. I wish Google had made it so I could lock it off from kids. Also, there aren't any parental controls so it regularly plays explicit songs while young kids are in the room. Lastly, I hate how the… Read more

Google assistant repeats everything I ask for. I wish I could say "hey Google play xyz" and it would just play.

0 Stars – Complete crap. You cannot believe how frustrating and difficult it is to try and connect these nest audio devices to your home network . Well, I guess we'll never get hacked. Probably cause they can't connect to ANYTHING!!! Show details

Good Speaker and Convenient – I've enjoyed being able to play music easily by just saying "hey Google play music". I just wish it had local radio stations on it. Seems to work well. Pretty funny when my telly activates it occassionally.

Rubbish – Cannot connect to the wifi. Not for want of trying. The app is complete rubbish, just like the speakers. Sooooo sorry we got ten of them. Going to get a refund. Show details

Don't believe the hype – Bought these a week ago. Have all things google. Bought these to act as speakers for my android tv. Even with Bluetooth and wifi couldn't find or connect these speakers. Solved this by installing Google tv...so I thought. But to get them to connect is a hit and miss...the home app and Google tv don't automatically see them. You have to in a round… Read more

a bout way connect them under apps as Bluetooth attachments. This constantly drops out so you need to regularly go into settings and re attach. So you sit down to watch a movie with the speakers offering a deeper sound and they cut off. In addition to this google has rigged them so they will not cast from your phone say YouTube or music with out a premium subscription. Never had this problem before. You tube won't even recognise them. I don't know if Sonos or others would work but if you want speakers to work as speakers for a tv I would investigate other options. If you want a smart speaker that you can ask the weather just stick to a mini. Finally the sound is not that good...it's not immersing and often feels like it's not loud enough even at full volume. Seriously considering returning them.

Great for some music genres, bad for others – The Nest Audio is a stylish, compact little speaker that packs a punch for its size. I would have loved to have one or two of these as a teenager in my bedroom. Considering I paid the equivalent of $320 adjusted for inflation for a crappy little boombox in 1986 as a 13 year old, this is really great value and proof of just how incredibly far… Read more

technology has come since then.

But it has its limitations. It would make a great casual-use speaker for the kitchen or the bedroom, perhaps doubling as an alarm clock or a radio but as a replacement for a Hi-Fi system it doesn't really cut it, although I can picture two of them paired up replacing the wildly popular bookshelf stereo systems that have been so successful over the last 2 decades.

The sound is pleasant and appealing if you're playing music that is well defined with the instruments distinct in every track, such as electronica/dance, pop and rock but pretty terrible if the instruments are indistinct, multi-layered or spread out, such as orchestral, ambient, and soundscape music. With this kind of music the sound is just muddy and washed out. If your music is a mix of those two then it's touch and go.

Still, the Google Nest can find a nice little corner in your home and do its thing pretty well given all the usual Google smart speaker features it supports.

Too much expectation???? – I have the original Home working with the Sony SRS-X77 (chromecast enabled) and an Android phone and loved the set up but wanted the separated stereo sound of split speakers. The google max is too expensive as a stereo config so I was really looking forward to getting the new Nest Audio, and as a pair! Unfortunately, the sound is only very… Read more

refined on the top and mid, with bass lacking in oomph (on par or worse then previous Google home). It kick but no low end (unless you are behind it in a corridor or staircase where the bass is amplified nicely, so it seems to be there in the first place, just not front firing!!). Very disappointing then as the Sony delivers more bass (but cannot match the stereo separation obviously as it is a single unit). Then, I find that the mic does not pick my voice as good either as the the Google home... So overall feel let down by my $298 stereo system (that lacks jack input).

Recap: - It is NOT a small 'split' Google Max. - The sound is very clear but lack bass in the 'listening zone'. - The mics do not seem to hear me as well as the old Google Home.

As ususal, these are my thoughts, try it and see for yourself but set your expectations low :(
