Roccbox purchased in 2023 and used sparingly (less than half a gas tank since new) has developed a major crack in the stone which renders it useless for its primary purpose. Gozney will only offer a 35% discount on a new oven whereas it should replace. Regretfully I will now have to pursue a Statutory Warranty claim (as is the law in Australia… Read more
which overrides manufacturer warranty periods if there is a material fault in a reasonable time since purchase) to gain proper remedy of full replacement.
After almost 3 years of trying to get the best pizza out of the Roccbox (needing to work around its limitations including severe temperature gradients - can't tell you optimum temperature as every part of the stone is at a different temperature, balancing cooking of base and toppings as these are done by different means - stone and reflected heat… Read more
from a gas flame respectively, need for multiple gas adjustments and rapid pizza turning to avoid alternating charcoal and raw segments, etc), I can now get a half-decent result i.e. better than the kitchen oven, but requires an intense period of activity and attention for each pizza as well as a reheating period between. Then I recently discovered the Ninja Woodfire Outdoor Oven - the Roccbox was was gone the next day! A proper electric oven with door, elaborate controls and settings. It doesn't get quite as hot as the Roccbox but cooks a pizza very evenly (topping and base to all extremes), depending on pizza type/oven setting, in as little as 2.5 minutes - and then you open the door, check and, if necessary, close again for maybe another minute. Brilliant, for ca 2/3 of the price of the Roccbox, and far more flexible.
Roccbox Rocks – This is not only a Pizza oven but one of the most useful cooking devices I have ever engaged with. When not making pizza a griddle pan or cast iron plate can be inserted and it becomes an ultra efficient cooking machine. Show details

Results Better than store brought – We got this for Xmas gift, I thought what a waste of money when I can use the inside oven or Weber BBQ. WOW was I wrong! It didn’t take long to master a delicious pizza. I make my pizza dough so makes for a very fresh delicious base and toppings. I make enough dough to pop some in the fridge or freezer so you can have a second pizza easier saving… Read more
time best meal. LESS IS MORE, don’t be tempted to overload your toppings keep it to 3 favs if you can plus your mozzarella. I construct the pizza in a tray then slide it onto the stone. We heat it up to max temp then ease it back a bit to avoid crusts burning. Thin base 3 mins with turning every 40-60seconds 4 mins for a thick base. I found the hardest thing getting a fresh dough base to transfer from the tray on to the stone, still trying to nail this technique. (Tips welcome). So far very happy with the end results.
Fabulous! – This is a fabulous addition to solving fights at dinner time. Each kid makes their own pizza and as it only takes a few minutes we all eat together. Easy to use, comes with a pizza paddle, fabulous, hot crusty pizzas in minutes and easy to clean. Just need to find more low-calorie pizza recipes! Show details

Great little toy – Great oven, gets the job done. Takes around 30-45 minutes to get to 450° Celsius. I tested it with 3-4 different hydration doughs. Best results with hi hydration doughs 65% or higher. Cooks in 90 seconds. Show details
Great oven but second rate delivery – The Roccbox is a great pizza oven but for reasons best known to Gozney & BBQs Galore, it’s sold with the wrong gas connection for the standard Australian LPG bottle. The salesman said nothing so when I got home on Friday night with a new gas bottle from the servo and found it wouldn’t fit, Pizza Friday wasn’t on. Given the wholesale cost of the… Read more
connection is what? $10, and the Roccbox is $800, why would you annoy customers off like this?
The oven itself is very good and while it needs learning, a 2-3 minute pizza, tasting far better and quite unlike an oven pizza is easily possible. We’ve been using an Ultimate pizza maker and while that’s ok, the Gozney is well worth the extra money.
Be aware that the opening is about 350mm and will only just take a medium 300mm pizza on a pan. We cook directly on the stone with some semolina to slide the pizza base in, around and out.
Great product, excellent quality – Got the roccbox signature. It’s perfect in so many ways. Only thing I was slightly disappointed about was I expected for $1,000 it would have a cover included. Show details
Customer service non existent – I purchased this item and cancelled the order prior to delivery. So far no one has contacted me despite several emails. How can a company sell globally and have customer service on UK time only???? Show details
Great Portable Neapolitan Pizza Oven! – A bit of background - I'm a pizza geek and build wood fired pizza ovens for fun. I've been making backyard pizza for 15 years, and I'd like to think that I have a discerning eye for this kind of thing. Although I'm a purist when it comes to Pizza and prefer to cook in a wood fired oven, sometimes its raining, and sometimes you just don't have the… Read more
time to tend the fire and wait for the oven to heat up. Some people will tell you that their wood fired oven 'heats up in an hour'. Those people are generally lying, or used their oven the day before, or some such other caveat is generally in the offing. Plus its a full hour of Fire management. You can't just turn a knob and walk away like you can with a gas oven.
Enter the Gas pizza oven. There are several capable oven on the market today, and the offering from Gozney is one of the front runners. Mark Gozney stated as a brick oven builder of firstly backyard and then commercial pizza-ovens, so the design and function of the Oven comes from good origins.
Out of the box, the Oven is compact (for a pizza oven) and the stainless legs unfurl like some sort of insect to make a very stable base to support the lozenge shaped Oven. The Neoprene heat resistant cover is fitted well, and gives the oven an overall soft and sleek look.
The oven has a thick engineered stone cooking surface which forms the bulk of it's (just under 20kg) weight. Mine came with a cover (available for free with a discount code) which wraps the whole oven and has a built in carry handle which is genius. This oven is designed to travel, and it's highly portable., Some people have said that it is 'too heavy' - but they're just plain wrong. The burner can be quickly detached and the legs fold up beautifully for travel. Once at your destination - it easily fits onto a camp or picnic table for use.
The oven itself performs brilliantly, but like any kind of cooking - it does require a bit of a learning curve, but this specific to this style of pizza making, rather than specific to the oven itself. After the recommended seasoning time (the temperature is brought up slowly over several steps to cure the stone) the oven bakes perfect Neapolitan style pizza with brilliant leoparding and char on the crust.
The oven spring with 70% hydration dough is beautiful to watch and once the flame and the stone are in synched (there's that the learning curve) the oven will churn out amazing pie after pie after pie. I find a good 30-40 minute heat up time is required to get the oven up to speed - but all you have to do is turn the knob, and the flame lights right up with zero effort at all. I have never ever had a problem lighting the oven. Cleaning is also a breeze, you simply turn the burner up to full whack, and leave it to burn the stone clean just like a Pyro oven does. The Front does get a little blackened with Soot - but this wipes off easily with a damp cloth or paper towel.
I have my oven setup on an old kitchen bench-top outside, with the back against a wall. I have seen many people attach the burner with the knob facing directly backwards, but it is a better option to attach it so that it faces back toward the front so the temp can be adjusted without reaching behind the oven.
One thing the Oven could perhaps benefit from, are a couple of holes in the feet so that it can be screwed down to a surface for more permanent mounting, but if I really wanted or really needed these - I would just drill them myself. I haven't done this yet - so I can't need them that badly I suppose.
The only other thing I would like is if the oven was a little wider - OR - if a 'Roccbox XL' model was offered that could accept a 16" pizza peel. The 12" capacity is a squeeze, and I would like a little more room to make bigger pies and also to be able to turn the pizza's easier.
Overall though - this is an amazing oven, and would not hesitate to buy another one and would be really excited to be able to give one as a gift.
If you are thinking of diving into Neopolitan pizza, you cannot go wrong with this oven.
Ordered one month ago - Isn't delivered yet! – I am not a person who likes writing reviews but unfortunately in this instance I will have to. I place my Roccbox order exactly one month ago, on the 27th of October and the oven isn't delivered yet. This is extremely frustrating because I don't even know when this will be delivered as I haven't heard any communication from the company. Roccbox… Read more
don't even have a contact number in Australia to talk to and understand when the oven will be delivered. I am basically waiting without an end in sight. To say I am disappointed is an understatement!
This review is only regarding delivery as I am sure the overall quality off the oven is exceptional.

Great Pizza Oven - Worth the price – Very impressive portable little pizza oven not only does it get very hot (above 400C) it retains it heat with thick stone base and insulated dome (covered in silicon for safety ) - meaning not much heat escapes and so it cooks very evenly once heated up. pizzas only need to be turned once - at about the 60 second mark and they are done in 90… Read more
seconds!!
Even though they are headquartered in the UK (with Australian warehouse), their customer service is excellent and respond to emails (on UK time) and resolve any issues very well.
Highly recommended product - makes amazing pizzas and fire roasted sweetcorn
Bakes great pizzas – This Pizza Oven bakes very good pizzas once you get used to getting the temperature right. It's an expensive oven at $799 but beware when cleaning the inside. The upper lip of the opening is quite sharp and it is easy to cut yourself on it if you have largish hands. I'd have given it 5 stars otherwise. Gozney reckon they warn you about this in… Read more
the user manual but nothing I received with the unit has that warning. Why not just fix the issue then they wont have to warn people about it?
What a pizza game changer! – This pizza oven is a complete game-changer at my place! An easy to use, portable (though heavy at around 20kg), pizza oven delivers restaurant-quality pizza. Once heated (takes about 30 mins), at over 800c degrees, this pizza oven cooks an amazing pizza in under 90 seconds. What an amazing product! I will not rush to eat another pizza out any time soon.
