GripGo

i bought seven and gave them away as presents – I was paranoid about touching my phone to turn it off when it rang while driving. I saw friends fumbling around trying to do the same. I took it upon myself to buy a bunch of these and save the world from phones in cars. No one thanked me for the TOO Sticky Grip Go. I also found it so sticky that I had to peel my phone off carefully and… Read more
sometimes I only touched the corner of my phone onto the green sticky stuff because it was easier to detach my phone.
Then it started to get gooey. The edge of the green stuff started to detach from the holder and I was using a bull dog clip to keep it in place.
These things aren't designed for the Aussie heat inside a car. They probably work fine in colder climates.
Was ok , for about 6 months – The green adhesive pad on mine has turned into a slimy soft gel after 6 months use. It started to get softer and leave Sticky film on the back of the phone, which was annoying when you had to put your phone in your pocket, fluff would stick to the back of the phone.
Do not waste money on this product – This product often falls off windshield constantly, the sticky part never work properly it came off the holder itself, my phone has fallen off many times, scratches on my phone now from falling, do not waste your money on this. So disappointed. Hope this will help other to consider before purchasing.
In-depth reviews
Great product! – I have to start by saying that consumers are stupid. All the negative comments here are due to people not having any common sense. Yes! The suction cup sticks to the windshield *very well*! If yours is falling off, guess what? Your windshield is dirty! Learn how to clean glass. It really isn't that hard. Don't use your laziness as a way to… Read more
blame others and claim warranty. Clean your windshield properly! If you use your GPS with the suction cup that came with it, it'll likely fall off too because your windshield is dirty!
The green pad is super sticky! I'd like to say *too* sticky, but after you learn your trick to remove your device, it's not so bad. You do have to use *both* hands. For this reason, I only *place* my phone on it, not put it on and rub it in. Still, I need to use both hands.
From time to time, the green pad does get dirty, and you'll need to take it inside to wash. Takes no time at all! You also have to remember that your phone should be clean too, otherwise the goo sticks to the dirt on your phone and not your phone itself. Common sense guys...common sense.
The goo sticks better to flat surfaces and not as good for textured...because there's less surface area to stick to. Again, common sense. I've only had one product that this didn't stick well to and I used a lot of devices.
I mostly use this to hold my BlackBerry Passport which is a big, heavy phone. It has never fallen off. The screw that holds the arm does get loose from time to time because your car vibrates all the time. Stop being lazy and tighten it with your fingers once in a while or throw some lock-tight on the threads.
I've owned this product for 1.5 years and the green goo has deteriorated and is falling apart. I'm in a not so hot climate (Vancouver) but i'd assume it would last much less in consistently warmer climates like California, especially if you don't park under shade or a garage. This makes sense because otherwise, it's getting cooked and cooled down every single day. Common sense guys...common sense.
I'm definitely buying another one now. For the cheap, cheap price of $15 from Walmart, how can you go wrong? Lasted over a year for me.
The green colour is super tacky and ugly, but I've gotten used to it. Wish they made a black one, but then again, you wouldn't see the dirt very well.
Everybody that complains about what they bought off eBay...really? Why do you think they're on there for cheap? Most likely they are products that didn't pass the quality tests and therefore are bought and resold by someone who's ambitious and wants to make some money. He bought them for $1 and sold them for $5. If it didn't pass their quality standards, and they were bought not from an official retailer, you really have no grounds to complain.
I know the consumer is always right, but let's be realistic here. Your products and windshield need to be clean. In an exaggeration, try sticking a piece of super sticky tape to something covered in dirt and soil. Of course it won't work!
Great product. Buying another one! With proper care and common sense, it should last a year and for the price, that's ample.
Fail – I bought a Grip Go at Big W for $24.95. It was easy enough to stick to the windscreen and I could adjust it so that it wasn't in the way which was good. The problem I have with the Grip Go is that it gripped the phone a little too well. I actually pulled part of the arm off it a number of times while attempting to get my phone to come away from… Read more
the sticky surface. After a couple of months the surface also started to deteriorate and would leave a sticky residue on the back of my phone. Once this happens there is no fixing it.
I also had the whole thing fall off my window a few times, but I think anything stuck with a suction cup will eventually come unstuck. It is still a bit of a worry if you are driving when this happens. I liked the way you could adjust it so it was in a good position to be able to answer the phone, without disrupting vision of the road. It just grips the phone too well. The sticky residue once it deteriorated meant it was no longer able to be used.
Just as advertised! – I was dubious, but since my Shamwow works as advertised, and the stupid Schticky, I thought for a few bucks I couldn't lose. Straight out of the box the suction cup with the breather holes was impressive and sturdy. I've had FOUR cheap phone holders melt and deform to the point where the suction cup didn't work at all anymore, but this design… Read more
appears to get around that problem.. time will tell.
I tested the grip before mounting it, and my stock iPhone 4 stuck to it, I shook it, and it stayed there. I pulled it off with minimal effort and i'm gobsmacked.
I used it for a month with no problems whatsoever until I decided it was time to put a cheap but hard cover on my phone for a bit of extra protection. I couldn't do this before because my phone holder relied on having a naked phone to hold onto, but with this GripGo it looked like you could throw anything on it. I bought an Angry Birds black $4 case from Woolworths and the next time I stuck it on the GripGo I couldn't get it back off!
I ended up taking the mount out of the car and using two hands to peel my phone off the green pad. I thought my phone was going to snap in half, no jokes. I was reefing on it THAT hard!
I'm not sure what these other reviews are about, but I suspect they bought the cheap knockoffs or something?
What I have done now is stuck two pieces of plastic (from an offcut of some packaging) onto the green pad to reduce the surface area, and I can just about get the phone off with one hand without too much issue. Well designed for Australian summer heat, grips perfectly with a naked iPhone. It's like superglue if you use a hard case on your phone.
Positive reviews
Serves its purpose – I really like this product. It serves its purpose very well. The sticky part gets a little too sticky after a while. But as to all other things in today's world, it has a shelf life. I used it on the daily but after a while, it slowly started falling apart. Buying another today, if I can find one.
Sturdy – Surprised by all the other reviews. I've found it very sturdy and sticky for phones with flat backs. Not so good for textured phones. Still going strong for more than 2 years. I like the solid arm mount too. Much better than those flexi arms which tend to break over time.
Great until – I used it for a year and then it became 'too sticky', the goo came off on my phone. But for $10 I guess that is a good deal. I am buying another one at Walgreen's today. My wife also got one and hers lasted about 9 months. We still love them. very convenient and easy to use, I was able to 'clean' it several times and it kept working eventually it got 'too sticky', after 9-12 months
Negative reviews
Won't Stay on Windshield – This product is garbage! The suction cup has imperfections so it falls off the windshield within minutes. There are no other mounting options in the carton. Surprisingly, it does hold a cell phone at any angle quite firmly. It has to be peeled off the platform. Horrible quality. Horrible product.
Inconsistent quality – I bought my first one 2 years ago, it was great, worked perfectly. It deteriorated over time in the sun, so Ive replaced as needed. In the last 6 Months the suction cups just don't stay on the windscreen. My GPS will, but these won't, no matter how clean it is or which part of the screen it's on. I have 2 brand new ones which are doing this now. The green stick pad is also not as good quality as the first ones I bought
garbage – Same as everyone else. Phone didn't stick to it. And wouldn't stay stuck to the window pad either. Was in contact with the company and they said they would replace it. Sent them my info and 3 months later still haven't received anything. Very poor quality and very poor customer relations or rectifying anything on their part

Non stick – My phone won't stay stud to it for anything.. fresh from the box it fell.. wiped with warm soapy water.. fell in seconds. What is this.. I was so excited to try this and it don't work.. someone needs to make this right. If I knew it was like this I would of never purchased it.

horrible product – bought this product, falls off windshield constantly, the sticky part came off the holder itself, my phone has fallen off many times, scratches on my phone now from falling. holding it on with an elastic until i buy a differnt holder, dont waste your money on this.
gripgo – Havent had any problems, the surface size could be smaller as it is somewhat of a nuisance to remove my note 3. They should include a replacement or offer replacement goo stickers as ive read that in time it starts to break down.
WORST PRODUCT EVER - DO NOT BUY - turned to goo in 6 months – The green adhesive pad on mine has turned into a slimy soft goo after only 6 months use. It started to get softer and leave small pieces stuck to the phone when I pulled it off a few months ago and by now it's totally useless green soft goo. What a disgrace, DO NOT BUY ONE.
Waste of money- don't bother – I bought two, haven't opened the second one yet as the first one has been hopeless. The sucker doesn't stick and if it does it sticks for about 20 seconds then falls off. Not great when it constantly falls off during driving!!!Never ended up using it because nothing about it works. I'll be throwing them both out. Such a waste of money. Don't buy one.
Rubbish – I bought one Gripgo, it seemed to work well, so I went back within the same day and got a second one. Big mistake! This product is useless. It either drops the phone after awhile, or the whole thing drops off the window. Useless rubbish!
Product should be called GripThrow – Wife bought 2 of these against better judgment. Cleaned the windscreen as per instruction and it fell off a couple times before sticking on. Sat my phone on and thought, this is great. Took phone off required a good deal of force to peel off. Too much force. After that the phone wouldn't stick properly. Cleaned the face as per instructions but never the same. Now phones keep dropping of intermittently. Save your money for a better product.
Grip n So So!!! – I recently purchased the Grip n Go in car mobile phone holder, it's the one shown on TV where the man sticks his phone on it and hangs it out the window. Honestly I don't know why his phone looked like it was super glued on but I've found it to be not so grippy and would never trust it on a rough dirt road or with anything heavier than a small… Read more
phone. I am disappointed with this product, I just thought it would have much more grip especially for bigger products like my GPS but that's TV magic for you, it's never as good as it seems on TV . It's ok on smooth roads with light objects. Not very grippy which is the whole point.
Worst product ever! – Received for christmas present. Originally, it was so sticky, it took both hands to remove the phone. A couple of times, the pad started to peel away from the holder. After a while I noticed the goo coming off on the phone case. The top and bottom of the pad is now a sticky almost liquid gel. Cant use it at all. I think it was bought from Woolies… Read more
for me. What kind of customer service is there regarding this problem? Is this covered under a product warranty?
Badly made product
Sad to see good design go wrong – My wife bought this for me. The design is good and it fits well on the windscreen. I was happy with it till it got very sticky and started to shed the goo onto my phone. I washed it but it made no difference.I have had to stop using it as it makes such a mess Works well when new Becomes ultra sticky and goo gets onto everything it touches. I have not been able to access warranty

Grip go is baddd – I bought a grip go and we used it once and the phone fell of driving within 1 km from my house........piece of rubbish don't waste your money.....would the grip go company replace my phone if it had broken.....Probably not i bought it from Woolworth but I don't see how blaming where you buy it from is important.its the company that need to take responsibility . It sticks to the window well It doesn't stick to the phone.....
Awful – Nothing good to say. Either it was really difficult to get the phone off the sticky stuff requiring two hands, or it would fall off if it hadnt been washed for a bit. Then after 2 weeks the sticky part completely peeled of the plastic so it is now in the bin. It broke in 2 weeks and didnt even work very well when it wasnt - go the traditional cradle type phone holders
Dont bother – The gripgo after two days in Adelaide heat would not even stick to me windscreen anymore so I just squashed it in the dash and window, the screw that tightens it in position would loosen it self in a 20 minute drive. My chinese phone holder I bought of ebay for 2 dollars has lasted the distance!! The surface gets dirty real quick if you don't use it all the time It doesnt work under hot conditions (australian weather)
Rubbish – I bought 2 GripGo,s for $69.95, they are absolute [censored word removed]. the sucker does,nt hold, the green pad is so sticky it almost pulls the back off the phone. Also I see them for about $5 each, they are both now in the bin. This is why you lost a customer, Goodbye, Should take it off the market, save someone else the disappointment
G8 Till You Try To Use It In An Aussie Summer! – I got 2x, 1x still in its box. Mine worked well for a few months but then when it started to heat up, the pad turned to mush. Started taking bits off my phone cover. Tried cleaning pad but only got worse. Now when you use it it leaves residue on my phone cover and bits of my phone cover in the pad. Not happy..but no online and or other support to… Read more
lodge claim and or complaint. When it was new it worked well After a couple of months use and change in weather (heated up) the green pad became soft and squishy.
Waste of money – Suction does not hold on windscreen and phone detaches itself from adhesive after 15 or so minutes...Do not waste your time and money, unless you want to drive your car and anticipate when the product is going to fall down and hopefully not damage your phone..False advertising and shame on the company for not road testing the product before release.Another example of taking advantage of the consumer. How dare they call the product GRIPgo?
GripGo – Hopeless, not user friendly at all. The grip is too strong and to remove the phone you have to tilt it, get and edge and slowly detach it. Make sure the suction cup doesn't detach itself from the windscreen and also be very carefully of your phone/ cover. Use the old style, don't waste your time Strong arm Too slow to detach
Passable – We got the two for one deal. The one in my wifes car worked well but the one for my car wouldn't stick to the windscreen. It would only stay on for less than two days at a time then with the weight of the phone, it would fall off the windscreen. I thought about returning it but eventually I decided to fix it to the windscreen with a small amount… Read more
of silicone. It is now a permanent fixture to my windscreen. Providing the green section is kept clean it works well now. Fits every type of phone. Suction cap didn't work.
Genuinly fantastic! – I received this item a short while ago. 2 gripgo's from eBay for less then $20 combined. I tested this bad boy as soon as it arrived, and boy was I impressed. The suction cup is sturdy and can support my samsung galaxy s3 without any issue at all. The green sticky suction cup bit adhears to my phone like superglue. (I was able to lift my… Read more
befside table with just the green bit, without it disconnecting)
Which can be an issue, but once you refine your technique, you won't have any issues disconnecting. If anything, this is a huge plus in my books. My gripgo is left in my dashboard 24/7 with my phone being connected each time I enter. Never an issue.
I simply cannot believe these other reviews are genuine. Judging soley by the quality of my products, I can only assume others are miss using their items. light, strong, visually pleasing, reliable sometimes too strong abdominal requires a little technique when removing.
Waste of money – Lasted less than six months before it fell apart. It didn't grip well to begin with. Also the suction cup didn't adhere all the time. Then the gel grip started to come lose & leak. Within 6 months the gel grip is liquid & the pad completely detatched from the arm unit. I've got sticky goo all over my dash. No online contact that I could find for the company.
The suction cup follow a part – In the two I had (special buy one get one for free that I just realize I paid at an expensive price of $50) the connection from the suction cup and the arm just follow apart with my phone on it. Luck I have a heavy duty cover.Did not last more than one week both. The idea of the product for easy grip and easy remove of the mobile. Don't work
Waste of money – This item is just a gimmick. Bough today and it does not do as advertised. The suction cup keeps felling off the windscreen. Cleaned window 3 times and after 5 minutes the suction cup just falls off. The green section for the phone only holds phone for a few minutes then phone slides off. Cleaned again and the same thing it just falls off. My old… Read more
phone holder worked a million times but I replaced it as an arm was damaged. I would not waste my time again by buying this item. Nothing. Suction cup does not work. Phone holder does not work.
Rubbish – Hopeless and totally useless product. Does not hold a phone unless completely clear of dirt or grease. And it also broke. Suction cup works tho . . . . . but it's the only thing that did work. The Green goo just does not hold any device in place with confidence. Suction cup. It sucks really well The green goo did not hold any phone in place.
