Guardian App Cam 26

I have two and works perfectly – I use it for the furbabies. The APP is as good as the cam. You can have it on all day. It may disconnect once but can connect straight away. The live video is good day or night. I did have a hard time setting up but once you read the instructions carefully all is good. You have to make sure that you get it's own WIFI first. I think it is the best camera I have owned. It's WIFI, it may have a power cord but that is good as you don't need to spend too much on buying the batteries. I also have the cordless uniden cam solo but boy does it drain $$$ on batteries alone and it's not just an ordinary AA or AAA batteries. I think that this camera is really good. I just love it.
Purchased in at eBay for $99.
A basic camera with promise, but very average performance – After looking around at a number of IP security cameras, I stumbled across this one and after reading all the specs etc thought that this would be brilliant. It is IP enabled, can be accessed remotely from my phone (including the ability to pan and rotate live), can be set up to continuously record or only record a detection, microphone and speaker, push notifications, night vision and 720P.
I was also lucky enough to find this product at a very good price ($45 with P&H) from a retailer ( Gagdetcity) via Amazon Marketplace.
Sadly, this is a far as I can go about the good bits.
The installation of the camera was a complete nightmare (and I'm very savvy with IT). The instructions were just wrong by listing the incorrect app to download. I tried virtually all the other Uniden apps via the Google Playstore and had no luck. Nothing matched the instructions or the images of the said app. It took an email to the retailer (who was really helpful and was willing to offer a refund if I couldn't get it sorted out) who gave me a 24 hour support number for Uniden. Admittedly, this was was very helpful and the camera was quite quickly set up once the correct app was installed etc.
Now the camera does tilt and pivot etc and can do everything that is listed (which is great), except for the quality of the vision is just absolute rubbish. My NEC 606 mobile phone from 2003/4 had better video quality than this camera.. If it is 720P, then it is the worst 720P i have ever encountered. It doesn't matter what setting I apply (actually it does; the lower resolution options look even worse) it just looks horrible. Worse than VGA 640x480. it doesn't matter if I try the HD normal mode or the HD Better mode, 50hZ or 60hz, outdoor mode or what level of low light enhancement I select, the vision is just woeful.
The night vision is also horrendous. Even in a room with no lighting of any description, the vision is washed out.
All of this is such a pity, because on paper, this camera looks really good. I wasn't even fussed about 720P (thinking that it should be fine and that 1080P is probably better, but 720P would more than meet my needs), but sadly this camera just doesn't cut it. Not even close. Even with my amazing purchase price, I still fell nothing but utter dismay with this product.
