I do not recommend anybody buying this washing machine. It leaves white/grey streaks and little brown muck on my washing. I have had no help from the manufacturer or the extra product care I purchased from Harvey Norman. I have used a lot of washing machines in my time and never ever have came across this terrible problem, I have changed and… Read more
used a lot of recommended liquid detergent and liquid capsules and I do not use fabric softner. If you would like your clothes to come out cleaner than they went in the washing machine, do not buy this product. Very disappointing
This has been a very disappointing washing machine. Firstly, it has torn small holes in a number of items of clothing. I can only guess this is from the bottom agitator action. Basically had to throw a couple of work shirts away due to these holes presenting an unacceptable appearance. Secondly, this machine has very poor filtration and leaves… Read more
small flecks of rotting brown mould or something across a lot of the washing. This is despite rinsing the filters religiously after every wash. When these flicks are wet you cannot scrape them off. They just wipe into the washing when they are dry. They crumble and when they brushed off they just crumble into the washing. It’s a fairly disgusting in the stomach churning experience.
I wish it were easy to return this machine however it is a large washing machine unfortunately, but I will be taking it up with the company.
Cannot recommend the purchase of this item. It is certainly put me off other Haier products.
After 5 years, our LG washing machine gave it up. Having come to accept that there is no real benefit paying large amouts for any white goods any longer (we expect to replace any washer or dryer every 5 years) replaced it with this Haier model. Have… Read more
had it for just over a year months now and no complaints. All prior washing machines we have had were front loader, this is a top loader but with no center agitator post. More washing options than the LG, energy and water efficient for a top loader washer with options to customise any given washing load. While I would prefer not to buy Chinese whitegoods, there is not many options as even models such as Fisher & Paykel are now made in China.
Follow-up · Its been a few months now and no complaints. Great unit does its job well. Time will tell. Hate having to buy Chinese made anything, but we have accepted the fact that we will likely have to replace the washer and dryer every 5 years (anything beyond that is a bonus) as nothing is made to last any more.
We had a Fisher & Paykel machine for 16 years and needed replacing. Was going to replace with the newer F&P but after some research this machine was exactly the same as the equivalent F&P but much less in price. Started good, much quieter but problems soon appeared. Cloths knotted, machine moved around often during spin cycle. But cloths had to be… Read more
washed over and over. Especially black coloured cloths. Black colours just marked over and over to the point we have to get rid of the machine. Such a pitty, seemed to have potential but just a crap design. I work in a foster home, and they have a 10kg version which was purchased at the same time, and they also got there of theres as all cloths were stained and not doing well. What a waste of money.
Our Haier HWT08AN1 8 kg washing machine rebalances during the spin cycle continuously, wasting so much water in the process. It does not rebalance just once as it should; it does it over and over. The label on the lid clearly states that it should try to rebalance once and will sound a buzzer if this doesn't work. It has never sounded a buzzer; it… Read more
just continuously tries to rebalance until we manually stop it. It worked well for about 2 years, getting it through warranty now at only 2.5 years old it's next to useless.
Major disappointment, never again – This Haier 8kg Washer is the first top loading washing machine I've bought in over 20 years, my bad. This machine ties the washing in big intricate knots, stretching and pulling the garments and it takes a fair bit to separate them. It leaves washing powder on the clothes, despite the filters being cleaned prior to every use and the machine never… Read more
being overloaded. I've twice tried the clean tub option but as yet the machine hasn't managed to actually finish a clean tub cycle. It's a big disappointment. Proof of purchase can be produced, though I've never received an invoice or even an email from The Good Guys, it was all done via text. It's well within warranty but because it's an issue of product quality or lack thereof, I have no recall to have this machine replaced. When I spoke to The Good Guys in Launceston with my complaint about the load being tied and twisted into one big knot, I was told 'That's what top loaders do.'
Terrible Product – No matter what washing cycle it is on it is noisy and unbalanced ....even when I do a drum clean when there is nothing in there. It jumps from 15 minutes to 20 minutes constantly and I have to continuously keep running to the washing machine which if not checked can just keep adding more time on to the wash cycle. I have actually felt down the… Read more
side of the barrel and there is some type of sponge cushioning which I believe balances the barrel but now it has become compressed so now the barrel bangs around everywhere - when I purchased this machine in May 2022 I did check the reviews but the negative ones only emerged after I had purchased it. Please don't purchase this machine or any product that is a Haier as I have spoken to a lot of people with Haier products. My last washer lasted 11 years and this one 2 years and it cost me $948.00. DON'T BUY!!!!!
Does what it says it would do – Does what it says it would do Easy to use, quiet, washes everything well
A washing machine which should be called the misery maker – Don't buy it. An absolutely rubbish product which you will regret buying very quickly. Out of balance issues are rife with this machine. It will continue to add water over and over again to try and balance the load. A very inefficient way of balancing the load.. you'll be constantly standing by the machine to balance the load. Not only this, water… Read more
gets dispersed everywhere and your laundry room will become a slip hazard. Don't waste your money on this machine.
Disappointed – I purchased this machine at the end of July this year because it has 2 filters. I followed all directions for washing. I am so disappointed with its performance as it leaves the clothes in a worse state than before they were washed. Everything comes out full of streaks of coagulated fluff, inside and out
Controls failed and leaking! – Had washing machine 2years, just out of warranty and machine will not complete cycle, it reaches spin cycle, then reverts back to filling machine with water. It also has developed a leak. WOULD NOT RECCOMEND!!!! Show details
Hiya Haier! – I have had this machine for three months and I am happy with it. It has a water rating of 4 stars, energy 4.5 stars. I consider the 8kg capacity ideal, particularly for washing larger sized doona covers. It has a safety switch to prevent access to the machine while it is running, and it has a good range of programs, including a 30-minute one… Read more
for lightly soiled items. The machine assesses the weight of the wash load and sets the water level etc., or you can make the choices yourself. The accompanying user's manual is very informative, including detailed instructions as to preparing laundry for washing (do up zippers, remove coins from pockets, etc.).
The only quibble I would have is that I have found the lint filters difficult to remove for emptying. A little patience and persistence are required and it can be frustrating. I feel that if the spring piece at the top of the lint filter were a little longer, it might enable the user to exert enough downward pressure to release the lint filter more easily.
Garbage – Leaves white streaks on clothes even though we use liquid detergent, tangles clothes even though we use 2 kg less than 9 kg load, ran for four hours as if it goes out of balance on spin cycle it fills with water again and starts to try and spin again. Show details
Very poor top loader – Most washes end up with streak marks or lint on clothes even though I separate dark white, clean filters and don't place too much in each wash. It is the 9kg machine, not recommended, previous washer of 17yrs was excellent {FPaykel.} Would like to return this 9kg Haier to the shop just too heavy and far to get to.
