I always bought the 1kg pack of Strong Ground Coffee and absolutely loved it. I just bought the new pack and it’s disgusting. I’ll try mixing it with a different brand to use it, but I’ll not ever buy it again. Show details
Bought a pack of the smooth. If I were to describe it in words it would be "slightly burnt". Other than tasting slightly burnt, it has no other flavours. Avoid.
I had the 'Harris strong' beans last year and they were perfectly fine, so recently I bought 3 bags. Big mistake! The coffee was absolutely disgusting. Undrinkable rubbish, worst beans I ever had. They ruined the brand. Will never buy any beans from Harris ever again. Show details
Harris Medium Roast Beans.Love this stuff. Using a express impress machine its impossible for me to go buy takeaway coffee anymore, the bar is set almost too high. Its really cheap and for me this stuff is better then aldi medium roast. Im going to try the strong beans next and probally return to these in the future Show details
Burnt smell n aftertaste. Absolutely vile. Rather a international roast
Changed not the same pretty horrible burnt bitter and absolutely no coffee odour – I have been drinking Harris coffee for over 4 year everyday but bought a new one 26/11/2022 Absolutely different burnt bitter and no coffee smell I may have well been drinking ash in hot water. Why change when you have A good product, cost cutting again you don’t deserve loyal customers We are not stupid. Show details
Above average – Been purchasing Harris coffee for years, find the strong better than both the very strong and the lighter roasted 3 bean strength. For the price this is a very good coffee whether in full bean or pre-ground. Show details
Ruined a great coffee – I've been in the coffee business from very early on, supplying equipment to major outlets and my go to bean was always the Harris smooth, now lve found myself reseting the grind, temperature ect only to discover it's the bean, its changed and well its bland and flavorless. I'm now forced to find an alternative. Cant say how disappointed l am. Show details
I miss the old Harris – I am so disappointed that I can no longer buy the old unique Harris Espresso blend now deleted for a 100% Arabica. I enjoyed it every day and it rated so highly I cannot understand their decision. I'm trying to find a replacement alternative in another brand but that's another disappointment and frustration... please Harris bring it back... Show details
Horrible coffee – I have been a fan of the Harris Espresso green label ground coffee for many years. It has recently changed, not only the packaging, but also the flavour. It is no longer 5 cup strength & now tastes horrible. I will no longer be buying Harris coffee because of this. Why did they change it? Why fix something that wasn’t broken? I have written to them regarding this. We all need to complain to Harris to get it changed back Show details
Used to be great – Have been drinking Harris for many years now, but looks like after today's purchase I will stop . Seriously couldn't drink it. I thought there was a problem with my mug, so did another cup of coffee and was still horrible. no idea what happened to the original Harris "Smooth balanced & creamy- ground medium roast" but this one was simply… Read more
undrinkable. I was wondering why did it have 25% off @ Woolworths ! now I know, and I was silly enough to bu 2 ! really disappointed !
Harris Espresso ground coffee – For a long-time we have enjoyed Harris Espresso ground coffee (green label) using a plunger, but since the change to 100 percent Arabica my husband and I have not enjoyed the flavour as much. It does not have the same character as before. If you can, please bring back the old blend! Show details
No more Harris coffee beans for us – We have used Harris beans for a couple of years as our everyday go-to brand. Varied the varieties month to month but really enjoyed the stronger options. Such a disappointment to find none of the replacement packets contain the same quality and taste. Have found the beans bitter and unpleasant, even after adjusting the grind repeatedly to try to satisfy ourselves that we gave it our best effort. Sorry, thumbs down to Harris. Show details

The Disappointing Disappearance of Harris Espresso – I totally agree with the other two people who have written a review about the disappearance of the Harris Espresso coffee that I had been really enjoying and savouring for many many years. And I know of other people who are equally disappointed. Where the Espresso blend was really special, different, this new "Extra Strong" 100% Arabica coffee (in… Read more
packaging so similar to the previous Espresso blend... we were not to be fooled, though!!!) is pretty average and I don't enjoy it. So, again I agree with the other reviewers, I will no doubt not be purchasing the Harris brand again. Why on earth make these changes - the product was clearly successful as it was?
Used to be great! – We've used this coffee for years but no longer available in Coles or Woolworths? Have now found pack with white label but just doesn't taste as good. Why change a great product? And why do our favourite products disappear from supermarket shelves overnight? Show details
Changes have completely ruined this coffee – The beans are now sourced from different places; it doesn't taste like coffee anymore. No more Harris coffee for me ....... after more than a decade. Show details
Always great – I have always enjoyed Harris Expresso beans. I grind for every cup and use an aeropress and this makes a consistent long black every time. I enjoy the intense dark fruit lightly burnt caramel flavours that the Harris delivers. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions but Harris Expresso has always been a favourite of mine Show details
Finally found my perfect coffee bean – I have tried many different brands of coffee beans over the last 2 years. Recently tried Harris premium crema & love it. Search over. I make my coffee on my Breville bes860 and in my opinion the 2 go together perfectly. Bought at Woolies even though the coffee snobs say not to buy coffee beans at a supermarket. Try it, You will like it. Show details · 1
HARRIS EXPRESSO DARK ROAST – Bought our usual 1kg packet of ground coffee (13:11 LKG82531 best before 20 June 2020). Very disappointed and can only agree with 'Disgusted' Sep 01,2018. We can't drink ours - burnt, but no flavour at all. We poured ours out and won't be buying it again. Goodbye, Harris after enjoying your coffee for many years.
I wanted my coffee beans roasted, not cremated – This is the most bitter, burnt, horrible coffee I have ever had the misfortune to taste. Nobody in the house could drink it, so it went straight into the garden as mulch. I just hope it doesn't kill the shrubs. The other Harris coffees I used to buy all seem to have gone off lately too, so I have now changed to Grinders and am very happy with that, particularly their Crema.
I love this coffee - it's my all time favourite – Have tried all of the expensive brands but they really don't compare with depth of flavour. The people knocking it seem to be either competitor brands, or snobs that would turn down a Monet if it went for $5.
Changes to the taste of Harris coffee – Having bought and drank Harris coffee for 30 years have been really disapointed with the changes. I have bought a few different strengths of coffee for the plunger thinking it might be better to try a stronger blend and have been disappointed of the taste and texture. Am seriously thinking to go to another brand but thought I would write to you first.

The best value for money – Totally agree with your reviewer...If you mostly drink long black or espresso these beans consistently better than some of the more expensive beans....Try other beans occasional, key now but look for this on special.,..Great buying...
My absolute favourite plunger coffee! – Have been buying this for years and years, the only other coffee we drink is a Lebanese blend. We have always had it black and it is perfect for us! I don't care what other reviewers think as when we serve it to guests they always ask what it is and comment on the great flavour!! Show reply
Try tasting dirt, it will be nicer than what Harris call coffee! – Well what can I say, Harris make a cheap, terrible, bitter, shocking after taste stuff being passed of as coffee. The makers should go to a cafe and try a coffee to get an idea or comparison. Do not waste your money or time, sorry have to tell the truth. Nothing Everything after price.
Bitter – I am very suspicious of these other reviews. It's a cheap coffee. You get what you pay for. IMHO if you are going to go to the trouble of buying a machine, you might as well buy quality coffee to put in it. The Harris 'signature blend' is harsh, bitter , and not worth the effort to make. Contains caffeine. There are better tasting instant coffees
Good coffee from Supermarket – If you are not lucky enough to afford high quality beans then this is the coffee that will do the job for you in the morning. \ I actually enjoy this coffee. It grinds well and is perfect for my coffee machine. It has a dark roasted flavour. This is my go-to coffee when I buy from the supermarket and have a small budget. The coffee is dark… Read more
roasted so it is intense. It is inexpensive and available pretty much everywhere. This coffee tastes better than the $4 takeaway coffees. Sometimes the dark roasted flavour is a little harsh and therefore is bitter.
Good – A good ground coffee for use with espresso. It is very reasonably priced, and the vacuum pack means the ground coffee stays fresh on your shelf until you use it. Certainly good value for money and makes a very satisfying cappuccino to finish off your breakfast! A full bold flavoured ground coffee that makes it a good match with espresso machines.… Read more
It is vacuum packed to stay fresh & is readily available from most supermarkets which makes it a regular in our kitchen. The Espresso is too dark roasted for use in a plunger as the coffee comes out bitter & way too dark.
