Great coffee

I’ve been using Urban Brew co Pods religiously for over a year now their coffee is amazing but the big part for me is their pods and packaging are environmentally friendly Im usually not some one to worry about this kinda of stuff but being from a small town where all kinds of rubbish is just buried is a huge plus.
Living in NW QLD the delivery has always been very quick and reliable.
Really loving what Toby and his team are doing
Great work guys.

Not strong enough!! Flavour is meh

I bought the subscription for my aldi machine and realised that the intensity (12) is not even strong Enough compared to the aldi brand and also no flavour whereas the aldi brand has heaps of flavours and is strong…

Great Coffee, great customer service!

I have been ordering these pods for approximately 4 years.

I have found the ordering process simple and easy to navigate. The pods are at a great price with the more you purchase the cheaper they get!
These pods are biodegradable and I can say that the intensity 10 is my delicious choice for each morning!

Overall great product, easy ordering and good for the environment!

Are these pods really compostable? The lids sure seem like aluminium foil to me, and are not easy to remove, even with very hot water. I’ve been throwing the whole pod in the green waste bin, but now I’m worried I’ve been contaminating the bin.

Thank you so much for reaching out! These pods are industrial compostable and certified to AS 4736-2006 standards(Australian).
If you've got an industrial composting facility in your area, then you can just remove the foil and throw the pods into your green waste bin. The foil can be collected into a golf-sized ball and thrown into your recycling bin.
If the pod cannot be disposed of in the council green waste system, then there are 2 options.
1. The used coffee grinds can be emptied into your home compost and the pod disposed of via the normal council general waste stream. At least then the organic used coffee component has been composted correctly.
2. Alternatively the used pod including the coffee and lid, be disposed of in the normal council general waste stream. Whilst this is not ideal, unfortunately some local councils still do not have up to date policies on the disposal of products that are made from compostable resins.
Please keep in mind that this is just a temporary solution as we're still working towards a home compostable pod that can be composted no matter what your local council situation Thank you so much for your support thus far. -https://www.urbanbrew.co/blog/how-to-dispose-of-our-compostable-pods/ - Camille ❤☕

Thankyou Camille,
I appreciate your reply. I am troubled that the lids are not compostable, and that that is not made clear on your packaging or advertising. I threw many lids into the compost before I realised, and I am sure many others are doing the same, Also removing the lids is not simple...I found it quite tricky and time consuming.
Please could you either create a compostable lid, or make it very clear on the packaging and advertising material that the lids must be removed before composting. If you let me know when you have done that, I may return to buy more of your product.

Hi Sally, Adrian here stepping in for Camille. We completely understand these concerns and some great news is that we're in the final stages of having our compostable lid ready. It just needs to go through a few more tests as we want to make sure it's perfect and still delivering the high quality coffee that people love. We hope it's ready to go soon! ❤☕-Adrian

Hi there, I live in Adelaide & would like to ask why the Urban brand has been removed from the Coles shelves. Coles continues to remove items at their pleasure not the customers. Thank you for your reply. Can I make my own and use the Nescafe Dolce Gusto machine.

Urban Brew
Urban Brew ·

Hi Tony! So sorry however we have never been stocked in Coles I think you are referring to a different coffee company. We unfortunately we do not make pods for the Nescafe Dolce Gusto machine. So sorry I could not be of more help! ☕

I have intensity level 6 & the capsule is clearly stamped "use short shot". I have a Nespresso Essenza mini so would the "lungo"setting make it too watery/over extract or should I just stick to the "expresso"setting?

Urban Brew
Urban Brew ·

Hi there, yes we always recommend using the short shot for the best extraction. :) - Camille
