I am not sure – Its brand new and I bought it very cheap on ebay ($15) Just cant get it to work??? Its plugged in let it sit for 10 minutes still not hot. so I got it going (with noise) for 10 minutes. Still not even warm. Is it just broken???
Stopped hearing up after 3 uses – Worked well the first 2 times, left yellow stains on the floor which is easily wiped up with vinegar. (This was stated in the manual). 3rd use, the mop wouldn't heat up at all, made all the right noises, just no heat or steam. Now in the bin. I paid $35 and I guess you get what you pay for. Price, reasonably good at cleaning. Not long lived at all, feels cheap.
Very good value – I purchased the Highlander 1500W Steam Mop a few weeks ago on eBay. It was to replace another branded mop that I'd had for years. I'm very happy with the mop as it works well, unlike others that I've seen reviewed, that cost a lot more. The only thing I would say is that when I first used it I couldn't understand why it wouldn't steam like my… Read more
previous one. Then I realised that the water tank has to be pushed right in, unlike my other one. Once this is done it works as it should. The one I replaced was a H2O brand and the pads from that mop also fit the Highlander. The only negative thing I could say about the Highlander is that the mop pads are a little thin, unlike the H2O which are thicker - but there is no difference between either pad when it comes to cleaning. Perhaps the floor stays wetter with the Highlander, I'm not sure?
One thing I will say about ALL steam mops is that they do not clean along the edge of tiles etc - the join between the wall and tiles. Some companies tell you they will but if you look at the shape of the mop head, you'll see that they don't. This is a job you will need to do by hand every now and again. Inexpensive and does the job. I would've preferred a more robust pad - they are a little thin.
Reliable – I bought this steam mop from Masters at a great price $30. The water tank can be taken off to fill, although it does come with a filling jug. The electrical cord is short but using an extension cord solves this problem easily. The cord can be folded away on attached movable hooks (also accommodates extension cord). It has a triangle swivel… Read more
cleaning head which makes it easy to clean corners and manoeuvre around. I have white glossy tiles and have found the following helpful in obtaining a clean floor. Vacuum first. Pre-soak any hardened food i.e weetbix or sticky marks on floor (can remove separately with wet cleaning cloth). Depending on how big the floor area is and how dirty I use at least 3 to 4 micro cleaning cloths. The steam mop comes with two but I purchased a pack of 8 from ebay which cost $18 inc postage. It's handy to have the extra as you can still use the steam mop while the others are being washed. This ensures that the floor doesn't get too wet and dirt doesn't get transferred leaving streaking water marks and floor dries quickly. Unfortunately every now and then if you would like a completely perfect floor it may mean getting down on hands and knees with soapy water and drying towel. I have young children and have found the Highlander a reliable and cost effective way of keeping my tiled floor clean. Inexpensive, reliable It has two micro cleaning cloths but pays to buy more
Good steam mop – I got this on sale through Deals Direct for $35.00 and have had it now for 8 months and have had no problems with it at all. I don't use the cloths provided with it I purchased the coral mop cloths through ebay and they are great. They soak up any water left on the tiles and leave it dry within a minute. I would definitely buy this again as its… Read more · 1
cheap and reliable and I only use distilled water in it and I think thats what keeps them working longer as they don't get the build up from tap water. light, easy to use nothing
Highlander Seam Mop – The only grip I have with the Steam Mob is the micro cloth doesn't stay on tight enough apart from that excellent product. Water tank is bigger also light weight,, extra boast of steam is good. Cleaned couple of dirty marks off carpet, worked well, great. Friend is buying 1. Better than a mop Micro cloth doesn't tighten enough, have to tighten while using it.
