Unfortunately when removing the protective packaging/ film from the TV, the below layer also came up, which turned out to be part of the TV screen.
My 2nd Hisense TV and while the picture quality is fantastic otherwise (like my previous series 7), the section that lifted is ruined and the generic dismissal from their customer service department was frustrating to the point where I will pay more next time to avoid risking a combination of poorly build product and horrible customer service.

The picture quality in both the terms of colours and sharpness are simply great. The sound quality is clear and loud with good sound modes with do the job pretty well. The Surround Sound on a 5.1 audio is very immersive and completely feels like watching in theater. This is without an additional sound system.
It has a proprietary Operating System which is not expandable. But with NetFlix, Amazon Prime, Stan and several other apps preinstalled with freeview+ inbuilt you hardly need anything more.

Traditionally I have been sticking with Sony TVs for the last 15 years or so. Sadly they let me down not once, but twice.
Samsung was a bit too expensive for our liking and after reading overwhelmingly good reviews about Hisense 50S8 on the internet we decided to replace our Sony 55" TV with Hisense 50S8. The TV destined for one of the bedrooms and 50" seem like a perfect size to have it hanging on the wall.
Please refer to the video attached for unpacking and setting it up. But, in simple words everything that we experienced so far with this ...

I plug a 4k apple TV and use it mainly for that. Have had zero issues. Satisfied with its performance given my budget. Audio is good, surprisingly. It does require 2 people to set up, given the size. Bought it Christmas of 2020 and still running.

Working all good until sudden death. Bought brand new from JB hifi in May 2021. After 8 months general family use this TV dead today without any picture. Have to say its working flawless in last 8 months. Not a fun of gamer and sports lover so not much complain about the pixel. My last Samsung which even 8 years still working normal but this brand new Hisence dead in 8 months. Lucky still in warranty but Hisence customer service quite hard to deal. Waiting for JB see if they can offer a quick and smooth solution.

I thought I bought a decent TV for my bedroom. Had all the things I needed for a smart TV but after only 5 months the Main Board went and now it won't turn on. I rang Hisense and they were very helpful. They organised a repairman to come out and assess it. Unfortunately this is taking time and I hate being without a TV in the bedroom.
This is my first and will be my last Hisense product.

Was working fine for about 6 months then started with problems , Error codes while watching Foxtel and Netflix APP's and volume keeps going down , Sometimes have to have it at 90 just to hear the sound , Spoke to customer service and they keep saying if they cant find a fault then I will get charged for it , I keep telling them that when it happens I do a factory rest and that last for a few weeks until it comes back so they could send a tech out after I do a rest just to watch tv and I would get charged because they wont or cant find a fault. Wont buy hisense again warranty not worth the paper its written on.

We this TV now for 3 weeks and very happy with the purchase.
And have a 43" S5 as well but it is slower...Youtube. So the 8S is far quicker for a few $ more.....and the 3 year warranty....See how that goes, if we have any problems. So far so good Hisense. Our 2 Samsung smart, are also working well, 65 "and a 55" but earlier Models so they are slower.

Easy to use one of the best smart TVs that I have had and I have purchased better units and find them very hard to understand and have paid a lot more than I have paid for the Hisense

Fantastic picture quality
Easy set up as this was our first smart TV
Easy access of apps and for the price we really can’t fault it.
We also brought a more expensive brand at the same time for our other room and we can not tell them apart for the difference in price

Our tv died on Day Two of lockdown here in SA.
Desperate times called for desperate measures and we purchased the tv with help from Harvey Norman over the phone.
Our requirements were simple we wanted built in sound and a good picture. The Hisense was recommended and delivered within the restrictions and up and running the next day. We bought the tv purely on recommendations and are thrilled. .
It has more options than we could ever use, we love the sound and the options for picture tuning are incredible.
It was the easiest and best purchase we have made in years. Well done Harvey Norman and I love our Hisense TV.

DEcent size, but felt smaller as the family is growing. Nice TV but picture quality could be finer. But who cares, as long as I can see things clear generally. A good option for someone who cares in content than the picture.
