It's good for the garbage or even that troublesome – Operating system crap Performance is triple crap Apps only what installed originally, no adding, nothing can be done about it. This is the worst television on the planet. Show details

One of the best things I've bought – After looking at the picture of a lot of sets, this one stood out to me even though I wasn't familiar with the brand. Now after watching it for a few months, I'm still happy. Skin tones, blacks, colour, smooth motion, all awesome. Easy set up. What I didn't expect was the sound quality which is very good for a TV (most TVs sound poor and need a… Read more

sound system). Good features but I must admit I don't utilize all the potential. Struggling to think of a negative. The only one was that (on the advice of the manual), laid it face down on a flat surface and had some issue fitting the feet on installation due to the ultra thin large screen. Needs to be done adjacent to table edge.

I returned it – The good: The picture quality with proper 4k material was pretty good. It is a gorgeous looking TV, the stand looks great and the screen truly is super thin. The bad: The input lag is horrendous. The operating system itself is bare bones and something I was willing to compromise on, but every button click took a second or two to register on… Read more

screen and was infuriating. This TV is useless for gaming. The input lag was there no matter what I did. After hours of researching and fiddling with every possible setting and factor I realised it was simply the TV. Regular cable TV has horrible resolution for some reason. The motion blur/smoothing/judder settings would reset every time it was turned off, and as someone who sees that effect right away it was not fun navigating the menus to 'fix' it (with everything turned off or on low it still looked a bit strange but mostly watchable).

I honestly cant recommend this TV to anyone but those who will watch nothing but streamable content and don't see or mind motion smoothing effects. And those with greater patience than me.

Took it back a week after It arrived.

Tv great to start but ongoing issues – we purchased this tv in December and it was great for a while but having issues now and seems to be common problem across many hisense smart TVs. The internet is dropping constantly and have to reset tv to get working and that’s painful to do. Both on wifi and cable. Other problems are that can’t connect to things that are not an app on tv. Eg… Read more

Disney tv. If the internet keeps dropping out will be returning and getting another brand. Have downloaded latest firmware, turned off wake to wifi setting, done factor reset, it’s not speed or internet issue from other end, tried cable also. When it happens won’t pick up any networks. It appears to be an ongoing issue and across many models and something hisense has not been able to resolve.

The best TV I have owned – Fantastic picture quality via OLED panel, great sound (didn't bother to connect my Soundbar), good functionality. My first time purchasing Hisense brand - recent TV 's have been Sony 55in 8500G and Samsung Series 7 (when living o/s) - so 3 year warranty helped with decision. While the Sony and Samsung were UHD vs the Hisense OLED, the price… Read more

point for all is similar, and the Hisense wins hands down of picture quality, sound quality and aesthetics (great stand and ultra thin profile). Most known brands' OLED's cost more than double the Hisense.

Only frustrating thing is the preloaded apps on the Smart TV are limited - so if you wanted Foxtel Now, Stan, Prime, Netflix, Spotify and Tidal you'll have to use a streaming device like roku (Telstra TV), Apple TV, etc.

The remote is great - would be greater if it was backlit!

Seriously though, best tv I have owned.

Great Picture - can take a bit of setting up UPDATE 2yrs on - DO NOT BUY THIS THING – Initial setup is very simple. However, out of the box, digital 1080p and better content looks amazing but broadcast (free to air TV) at 576i (several channels) was really pixelated especially where there was movement on the screen. Ended up fixing this by turning OFF motion smoothing. Also had a common problem after about 3 days of owning the… Read more

TV where it dropped my wi-fi connection and I couldn't reconnect. I found Hisense tech support pretty easy to get onto and they talked me through accessing a hidden menu to turn off fast-boot that was enabled by default out of the box. This fixed the problem.

What I love about this TV: - simple to attach solid stand - very thin bezel - blacks are so... BLACK - it is OLED after all - colours are amazing - stuck with standard after trying a few modes - very responsive - has a netflix and youtube button right on the remote - PLEX was one of the pre-installed apps (I use it as my media server so that was important to me)

What could be better: - selection of apps is a little lacking, no iVIEW, no 9NOW, no 10PLUS apps, does have SBS on Demand though (doesn't really impact me but would be nice to have, not even available in the app store) - easier selection of channels and removing duplications (solved using a favourites list but would prefer to be able to just delete channels

That's about it. Really nice TV, big upgrade over my 9yr old Sony Bravia. Would definitely buy again. Purchased from JB Hi-Fi was recommended in lieu of LG OLED I was looking at. Very happy with the choice.

UPDATE: 4 months on: ok so I've been using this TV a while now and while I'm still really happy with it there are a few things that are worth mentioning.

1. If you want to access services like 9now and 10play forget it. I haven't found a way yet. It could be that's very unintuitive but still possible but I haven't found a way the apps are not in the app store at all. You can access ABC IVEW but you do that through the EPG - weird.

2. Netflix app works great but control is incredibly laggy. The buttons on the remote are very clicky so you know for sure that you've pressed them. It's just often not mirrored on the screen. On average I would say I press the buttons twice as much as I should have to as every second one fails to register. It's a processor thing I believe as it seems to be catching up. Also, have had a few instances where netflix just doesn't work and 5 minutes later it'll be fine. Hard to say definitively it's the TV but when it's working on a tablet and a PC and just not the TV I think it's the TV.

Other than that very happy. Could I have spent twice as much and not had these problems, probably. Do I wish I did that? Not at this point.

UPDATE: 12 Months On: would not buy again as a primary TV. Picture still great. Seems to take longer than it used to, to boot up. Netflix app incredibly sensitive, you have to wait until the TV comes on, the sound starts and the notification of the channel goes off before you launch Netflix or it doesn't connect properly.

At this point I'd probably adjust the rating down to like 3 stars, a pass mark.

Once you get into it the responsiveness of Netflix to the remote is worse than it used to be. Tried changing batteries no different. Sometimes I've had to press one of the buttons 20 times just to get it to select the next show.

UPDATE 2yrs ON: I will never buy another Hisense TV. What started as annoying has become almost a broken feature. Response for apps especially netflix has gotten progressively worse to the point where sometimes I just turn it off. It's not the remote have replaced batteries multiple times.

Problem got worse after I upgraded my netflix subscription to higher definition content.

It appears the TV simply doesn't have a good enough processor to process the images and also inputs so when you fast forward or rewind it often gets stuck and you can't stop it where you'd actually want to.

Just shelled out $3k to replace this thing with a new sony.... wish I hadn't let the JB sales person talk me into a hisense in the first place, this is the shortest amount of time I've ever owned a TV.
