Disappointing TV – Is generally a good telly with HDR, DOLBY VISION and DOLBY ATMOS. The most negative thing is that these tvs just lose video signal and you get a black screen. Audio keeps going it is just the video that stops. Only way to reset is to unplug from the power and leave for a few mins and try again, sometimes this works fine other times tv only stays… Read more
on for couple of mins before doing the same thing again. If I had known of this issue I may not have bought this tv. I have read some of the reviews here and I agree that the Vidaa OS is absolute rubbish, please Hisense get rid of this system.
Awful brand with awful customer service will never purchase from again after owning more than 6 products!!! – Purchased this tv 26th December 2023 from the start tv started going black screen but still sound and i spent hours and hours on phone with Hisense technical doing all sorts of software adjustments as The Good Guys basically didn't want anything to do with it as they had there money, So after several repairs to the TV baring in mind should been… Read more
offered refund and i am now 8 months later with a replacement TV given 3 month's ago doing the exact same fault and want to replace part's all over again!!!
Super TV - with or without taking price into consideration. I recommend this without hesitation – Great TV in most every way. Coming from a previous Sony (65x9000e), I was a bit blindsided by the brand image. But my experience with the Sony service center to repair my TV was not the best, and I saw no point in potentially repeating the whole process with another Sony. Here is what I can say after 3 weeks with this Hisense TV. 1. No Dirty… Read more
Screen Effect (DSE). All colors look even and bright all across the screen with no dark patches or dirtiness on any test signal. The screen is premium looking through the whole 75inches, unlike my previous hi-end Sony which had characteristic dark corners on full white scenes. 2. Color rendition is superb; saturated, no tearing and perfectly natural across the whole color spectrum, without being overbearing. Skin Tones are perfect in Film-maker setting with minimum tweaking. 3. The contrast is stunning, blacks are true deep blacks and there is no blooming unless you burn your eyes out, staring at the subtitles in the dark. The contrast and picture quality are so good, the depth of the image almost goes back into the TV to infinity. While watching scenes inside the Bat-cave from The Flash movie, every detail of the cave in the dark is visible. 4. HDR is beautiful, unreal almost - it looks so pretty. I can stare at HDR videos for hours on end (thank gawd, you-tube premium). Some of the imagery is so vivid and natural, you may be hard-pressed to think you are looking at video through a screen. The color saturation, content, motion, contrast, brightness and overall realism of this TV constantly puts a smile on my face. 5. Motion and Up scaling from HD and full HD is really good and HD TV is great to watch as well. 6. I can enjoy watching this TV in the day, with the curtains drawn, or at night when all the lights are off). It has a anti-reflective coating which works, even better than my previous TV. I have kept the Picture Setting on Film-maker mode, Contrast and Color are down 5 points from the default settings with Local Dimming on Full and Light Sensor set to On. All Motion and other picture enhancements settings are Off. 7. The inbuilt sound on this TV is better than most others I have heard, having a slimline bar in the front and 'subwoofers' at the back. Perfect for local TV news and programs, clear and loud if required. 8. I cannot fault the picture performance of this TV in any meaningful way, and when you take the price into consideration, this is a stunning, unbeatable choice. 9. 3 Year (!) warranty and I extended it another 2 years at Bing Lee, total price coming to $2.5K. This is almost half the price of any other comparable-quality (mini-led TV) big brand name. ** What can be improved 1. Little disappointed that Hisense didn't stick with Google TV as the OS. (In the UK and the US, this TV comes with Google). Vidaa is not bad, but somehow our whole ecosystem at home is around google and having one more sign-in (and more password sharing) is a bit of a pain. 2. The Ethernet port is limited to 100Mbps (I could be wrong here), which can slow things down if looking at really high resolution content (Dolby Vision 4k / HDR and Dolby Atmos, all in one stream). You may need to look at the WiFi, if your speeds permit. I am still using the Ethernet, but i find myself switching to WiFi sometimes. There is no way to use the USB 3.0 port on the TV to connect your Ethernet cable, via an adapter, to use higher wired speed - unlike on Google TV OS. 2. The buttons on the remote are super sensitive and just moving your hand over the remote seems to press some button or the other. There are no lights on the remote, so navigating in the dark is a bit of a curse. The other option is to get the Vidaa app on your phone, which works well. 4. If you switch on the inbuilt TV mic, to activate Alexa or Google, it even picks up dialogue from the TV and randomly activates the voice menu - quite the curse. Best option is to turn the TV inbuilt mic off and use the remote wherever it works on the apps, like You-tube etc, which serves our household purpose. 5. There is no cable management behind, so cables just hang around behind the TV
Hisense has done a great job on this one. Whether you are a videophile or generally just love watching TV, this is one you must bring home, if superior value is what guides your decision making. Well done, Hisense!
Great picture but hopeless quality assurance and support from Hisense – Picture quality is excellent, definitely punching above its weight. Black levels and shadow detail are great for a LED TV and good for TVs in general. HDR highlights are excellent and colours are fantastic thanks to quantum dot layer. 3-year manufacturer warranty is a good incentive. However, Hisense need to get it together as far as QA. U8K had the black screen/audio only issue, it went away after a tech came out to replace the main board in the TV. But then the TV had new issues including the clear motion setting not working at all. The TV also had the problem where some apps (YouTube, ABC iView and Plex) won’t connect to wifi unless you mess around with settings. Netflix didn’t have this issue.
So Hisense issued a refund and I ended up just getting another U8K because the picture quality is just that good, especially for the price. New TV also developed the network connection issue after a few days using it.
The other problem I have, is that this Hisense TV is updated regularly for owners in North America, but here in Australia we are left with a buggy mess that hasn’t received any updates in five months. I love the picture quality on this TV, but it’s impossible to properly enjoy, nor recommend to friends and family, when I can’t even just fire up YouTube without have to mess with setting every single time. If Hisense can fix this, the TV is a five-star at its price point. Come on, Hisense. You can do it!
Oh and the VIDAA OS is clunky and ugly, please give us Google TV like the rest of the world got for this TV.
Great TV! – Great TV, picture is bright and looks great. Blacks are really black with minimal blooming. Use TV for PC monitor and PS5 and I have no complaints. Sound is good enough to not require an extra cost of a soundbar. Vidaa seems to work OK though not as many apps as Google Play. Show details
AVOID TV A COMMON FAULT WITH HISENSE TV............Screen goes black while watching TV – I purchased the TV after reading many reviews. The features and quality of image and sound I read met my needs. After the install/connecting and setup I was so excited with the new experience of setting up the picture and sound to what I wanted. While watching free to air TV, after a short time of viewing, the screen went black but the sound… Read more
worked. After searching Google I found many people had posted the same fault not only with this model but Hisense TV's going back a few years. I performed the "fixes" they suggested but the fault occurred again/ performed the fix. The fault has occurred many time since. I have only had the TV for 18hrs. When and not if the fault occurs again I will return it to the retailer. This is my 1st Hinsense product purchase, not happy.....I HAVE NOT FAITH IN THE RELIABILITY OF HISENSE.
GOT CAUGHT – I've had this unit 1 day and now I've realized that I've been conned by the specifications. If you want a TV just for the free channels then this is the unit for you ..... amazing video, amazing sound, and adjustable for all tastes. Problem is, the later models run the VIDAA System and that means no compatibility with heaps of Google Play Apps.… Read more
Actually you can't even load the Google Play App itself !!! Spotify, for example, is impossible to install. All you can get is Deezer or radio streaming. The only workaround on Samsung is to use Smart View to mirror your android phone screen, which works but that's a half-baked solution. If I had a chance to use a bit of hindsight, I'd be looking elsewhere.
