Hitachi QLED TV fail – TV is slow to respond to remote inputs, it takes 5 and 6 keystrokes to turn subtitles on and off, constantly having to reboot, it receives remote input and then does something totally different which is very frustrating. It is the dumbest smart thing in the house. I have had it for 3 years and am so frustrated with it when we move it is staying on the wall and not coming with me, I will not buy any Hitachi products again.

3 years and 6 months is not enough from a new TV – Had it 3 years and 6 months, now has 'burnt out' , no picture. 6 months out of warranty. Has always been slow and sluggish, remote is basic, speaker dreadful and needed sound bar. Spent most of its time " Retrieving Data' and literally took minutes to connect to the station when changing channels. NOt happy. Wont be buying another Hitachi. Show details

You get what you pay for, did last for 3 years – Brought 3 years ago, overall quite limited with only 16gb of storage, colour very average, screen with darker and lighter patches…. And the t.v. did receive an android update from 9 -> 11, which functionality did make it better! However, Months ago heard a crack and now hear no white noise when the tv is turn on, overall these sm20 models are the same, lower budget so expect it not to last too long… Show details

Meh - you get what you pay for – Reiterating other reviews here - TV remote / responsiveness is quite erratic. Picture Quality is good, sound is very tinny so you need to have a soundbar or proper speakers (but that's like with most TV's these days, gone are the days of heavy TV's with awesome speakers)... It is like a PC/laptop/phone where sometimes it's laggy and needs a hard… Read more

reset. Make sure you turn it off fully from time to time or else you will be stuck. Recently having issues with what I suspect are the capacitors squealing at the back of the TV. Since Harvey Norman/JB HI FI no longer stock this brand they don't provide warranty support and was told to go directly to Hitachi. Let's see how they will respond with my complaint.

Issues are erratic – Purchased October 2021 and worked fine for the first 6 months. Since then the remote does not always turn the tv on - have to switch the tv off from the wall to reset this. The reaction time is very sluggish and now the picture is comprimised due to screen not working properly. Show details

Unpredictable remote – I purchased TV with great picture and sound but it has the most erratic remote,, selecting a channel change can be ever so easy or it can be a laborious task, the off button works most of the but has a tendency to go to Netflix or some other extraneous screen , the ON NOW program is never ON NOW. there are several other idiosyncrasies I've got… Read more

to live with My last contact with their service provider (6th June) was that they would sent a technician yet I've not seen one yet. Initially they sent me another remote but BOTH have the same wayward traits

A great value TV with very good picture quality for the price – I purchased this TV to put out on the back patio. Purchased during the Click Frenzy event in November 2021, I felt I got the TV for a bargain at $682. The picture quality is excellent, especially compared to my 65" Android TV in the lounge room. It is a QLED TV, with HDR, so the blacks are blacker and there is a real depth to the image quality.… Read more

As with most Android TVs, the operating system is a little sluggish at times, but not unbearably so. The remote control is a little plasticky, but for the price, you can't expect more. One thing to note is that the built-in Bluetooth will not pair to an external speaker, it is purely for pairing with the TV remote control for voice commands. My other Android TV can pair with a speaker. So I could use my Bluetooth speaker, I purchased a $20 Bluetooth dongle and it works a treat. I'm happy with my purchase and feel it was of great value.

This is one of the best TV I had – I bought this TV from Cosco. Prior to this, I had a good test at the store where they had one for Display. They had some odd TV sizes 50/55/58/ Chose 55 as it looks proportionally better. Brought it home, a bit sluggish at first but after 2nd update, the TV performed fine. Had it on Wifi no issues with the streaming Apps used Netflix, Amazon and… Read more

youtube mostly. I have been using it for the last 7 months without any issues. The TV is quick with great picture quality, the google voice button on the remote is ++. The sound is ok, loud enough for a bedroom. btw the Chromecast works fine I use this feature daily with 2 different android phones. Overall I'm really happy with the Product. Now I'm waiting on the deals for 75inch Tv for my living area. Comes with a 3 Years Warranty for Peace of Mind. Grab it while you can as I don't see much around in stores.

Great for the Price – Had it for 6 months with no issues. I've found it a great entry level 4k QLED TV. Recommend external audio though as the sound is pretty tinny but TV audio these days seems like an afterthought Show details

It turn on itself – The picture quality and sound is good but it turns itself. Have to switch off the main switch otherwise it turns on in the middle of the night. Technician took 2 times tv to fix but again turn on itself. I have an email in Hitachi tempo but the not a good response. They send technicians only. I wouldn't suggest people buy this tv. Show details

You get what you pay for – I bought this as a second 75 inch and decided to go for a cheap one. For the most part it works as expected, but the built in Chromecast is poor, even with a wired LAN connection it's laggy. The user interface is slow but the worst part for me is the CEC volume control. I had it working for a while, then it inexplicably stopped working. I had… Read more

to factory reset it, which is painful, but even then the volume control doesn't work. CEC itself is working fine, I can 'drive' the Bluetooth player / surround sound unit with the TV remote but pressing volume up or down only adjusts the volume on the TV. I'm using optical from the TV to the amp, and HDMI from the amp to the TV, which as I said was working as expected for a period. I've never had an issue like this before and know my way around a TV setup.

This is the only TV that I've ever seen that sends sound to the TV speaker when 'Speakers' is set to 'External Audio System'. That should prevent the TV volume from going up or down. The speaker should be off. What a joke.

I can see the amp under CEC Device List and I know 100% it's set up correctly. I've done this many times before. As I said, browsing all the amp menus works fine, it's just adjusting the volume that fails. Interestingly it works for a few seconds after turning the TV on.

Never again.

No HDMI ARC ! – It's 2020 release and surprising to see no HDMI ARC ! How would you watch movie on netflix / amazon prime and get the high quality audio thru audio system? It seems it have audio jack out but its not of use in current technology.  Show details

Second new TV in 3 days – We purchased a Hitachi 75QLEDSM20 it was installed they turned it on set it up and left my wife turned it off a few hours later and when we went to turn it back on in would not start. We got in touch with the store and they arranged for a new one to be delivered this duly arrived and was setup it was turned on no problem TV was powered off, later… Read more

on we to turn it on and it would not restart we have the same problem as we did with the first TV the remote will not turn on the TV.I have tried unplugging it, different wall sockets all to no avail So now we are stuck with no TV for at least two days waiting for a technician to come out to try to resolve the problem . personally I think the installers should have checked the second install to see if the problem was still there instead on just turning it on setting it up and going ? Great TV when it's up and running

Picture Quality

Good for the price – I bought it on sale $995 , needed a less expensive Android TV. And I was not too disappointed. The picture quality and sound are good. However it's not the fastest Android TV, the TV remote feels cheap and the buttons take few seconds to register after pressing them. If you were in Netflix or YouTube when you last turned the TV OFF then next time… Read more

you open, it will turn on instantly. But if you were watching live TV and then turned it off, then Opening it again will take longer for some reason. Apart from this I'm having a good experience.
