12 mm Holman Hi-Flow Adjustable Brass Nozzle – The Holman product cites: ⌀12mm Brass Hi-Flow Adjustable Nozzle Holman Adjustable Twist Nozzle is ideal for hand watering and many types of cleaning applications. The spray pattern adjusts from a jet stream to wash down floors or blast away dirt to a cone spray suitable for garden watering. Featuring a machined non slip grip, it’s easy to handle and adjust, especially in wet environments.
The tough adjustable nozzle design is machined from solid brass and is virtually unbreakable.
It’s ideal for the home gardener, handyman, to commercial or landscape applications. Twist the nozzle to stop the water flow. This is a great water saving feature! It also prevents constantly going back to turn off the tap. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This sounds nice in relation to buying brass tap / hoseware, which should by all means, last almost forever.
BUT in the reasonable use of the hose with it's hose fittings, hoses frequently fall off the things they are hung over, or laid upon, AND they land upon concrete paths and drive ways.
AND a solid (all components) brass nozzle would and should be very durable and long lasting.
BUT the internal core of the nozzle is made from PLASTIC, and this plastic fractures and breaks when the hose gets dropped or falls off a higher surface onto the concrete.
When the internal plastic core, fractures, then the nozzle begins to weep and leak water.
This is bad, when the nozzles are used for fire fighting purposes, in smaller areas containing combustible materials such as wood and fabrics, and the silent, weeping water leaks, cause mold damage etc.
Holman have made false claims about the material used in the product and hence, the durability of the product.
Their customer service and technical support is appalling,
I do not like false claims, inferior products (brittle plastic) selling for premium prices (brassware), and I no longer trust Holman Industries.
You say it's a BRASS nozzle, not a plastic nozzle, with a couple of external shell type parts. ----"The tough adjustable nozzle design is machined from solid brass and is virtually unbreakable."----
The thin lip at the end, is easy to bend, as most hoses do get dropped on concrete. Your "concerns" typify the usual [Content Removed], that your [Content Removed] call centre staff engage in. As I put forward, the issue with the nozzle, is your stated design, is to flow almost all the water a 12 mm garden hose is capable of flowing to the nozzle, AND to do it with minimal restriction. For the area that the hose is set in, to fight any fires, has slow burning wood and paper materials, and the area is about 3 x 5 meters - so MY set up is fit for purpose.
I do note that you make no apologies for defrauding people about the materials used in the nozzle, how they are easily broken and not durable and long lasting.
I also note how you have made no effort to replace both of my nozzles, with ALL BRASS nozzles, and to stop defrauding the people of Australia, and instead resort to [Content Removed], and gas lighting, in an attempt to side step the issues.
Would you like me to send you the link of the video I made which included the nozzle, the faults, the lies, and the phone calls to your [Content Removed] call centre?
Since you have plenty of free time to [Content Removed] to people, and a Victorian office, perhaps a quick trip to VCAT can sort this out.
You have had this item for 3 years and despite it being mistreated, (photos included in your review and repeatedly dropped on concrete, as stated by yourself) has served you well. Obviously, after being dropped one too many times, it had failed and you decided to call us treating our staff with unacceptable disrespect and vile terminology. You were asked not to call again and if you had issues with a product, under warranty, to have this replaced at Bunnings. We do appreciate your review, the item has been reviewed by our development and marketing team and we do not believe there is any false or misleading information on this item. Our Hi Flow nozzle is indeed a customer favourite and the internal shaft has recently been remodelled and we are very happy with this product! You are welcome to take this matter further if you believe you have been unfairly treated, however, we will consider the matter closed and no further correspondence or communication will be entered into. Thank you, your Holman Team!
You have been caught out every step of the way.....
So where is my solid brass replacement?

Hello TPT, thank you for your review. You are correct, this has a long lasting resin shaft in the centre of the sprayer. We can see this has indeed been banged about a little too! What concerns us is that you use a non fire rated product in your fire system. Kindly look to use rated products for this purpose. We do sell Australian made fire hoses and nozzles rated for use in fire prevention systems, these are are obviously much better suited to such purposes than a regular garden hose fitting. We offer Australian based customer support should you wish to call us on 1300 716 188. Thank you, your Holman Team!
