Sandwich press – it very good and easy to use and it cooks Show details · 1
Perfect for small families – Doesnt burn, easy to clean and perfect for cooking toasties. Can even cook pancakes, bacon etc on it. We use it daily, small and versatile and easy to store away. Fits normal bread size Show details
Better design by simplicity – This is a very simple sandwich press - which is why we bought it. We wanted a press that would not squash our sandwiches into odd shapes that don't always fit the shape of the bread. This one is suitable for that purpose. Because the heating surfaces are flat (no ridges at all), this press is suitable for any style of bread. We use it for simple… Read more
toasting, cooked sandwiches, crumpets, Lebanese bread, simple defrosting and more. The surfaces are a good quality non-stick (melted cheese is very easy to remove). The handle is far enough away from the heated surfaces to avoid burns. Its flat design makes it ideal to warm the plates for that cozy winter snack.
Cleaning up is as easy as a dust off into the sink and a wipe over with a moistened cloth. And the handy locking latch makes it easy to store.
A clip to somehow tidy the lead would have been helpful.
Note: If you avoid the almost ubiquitous instruction to apply oil to the cooking surfaces, they will last much longer.
Good product. Does the job – I have had this sandwich press for a few months now and never had any problem. I tend to leave my toast in for slightly longer because the temperature is not too high and I like my cheese completely melted. Other than that, it's cheap and perfect for everyday use. Show details
Goes well but not very hot – This was a cheap appliance but bought so we could get out 9yo to eat toasted sandwiches at least. its not very hot like the more expensive types which can be frustrating but it does the job. the handle is a little dodgy so when this one kicks the bucket I will buy a more solid brand and pay more for it. these appliances are really too cheap and short lived I'm afraid. Cheap and cheerful, great value, easy clean – Classic example of the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) principle at work. It's a sandwich toaster. It doesn't even pretend to be anything else. This has been successfully designed down to a minimum while still retaining function. As such it was about half the price of the nearest rival when I bought mine. This is NOT something that you will pass on… Read more
to your grandchildren. It WILL die. If you are lucky it will be within the 12 month warranty period and the nice person at K-mart will replace it with a smile.
It has a short power cord - that works for me, YMMV
For when you put it away it has cord storage built in and a lid lock.
It heats up quickly, has a power light and a separate ready light. Easy clean flat heating surfaces - just wipe over with a damp paper towel once it's cooled down. Quick warm up Feels weak and flimsy. Won't cope with rough handling
All great...except for the handle! – Great, functions as it should, however, the first one arrived (via post) with a snapped handle. I contacted Kmart who promplty and efficiently replaced the item and as I put the replacement into the cupboard... the handle snapped! Very frustrating as the machine itself seems reliable and sturdy... just a very weak handle!!! Cheap, consistant, reliable. The dodgy handle!
