SunBeam Sandwich maker or grill - STAY AWAY their warranty is useless

I have Sunbeam sandwich maker. It was over a year old . Used couple times a month . I was out of warrant by a few months , the light switch that’s on too , that indicates that it ready if green or red if not . The piece fell into the machine , so many times . I glued it , then it fell in again . This time it melted .
They would not do a thing about . It’s not even safe to use . Don’t buy Sunbeam products buy the brand Breville their warranty is much better. Plus I found out they discontinued it Show details

Almost perfect

Recently replaced our old sandwich toaster for this beaut upgrade. We shopped around to see what was available as we hoped to find one that we could fit 4 decent size sandwiches in, the Sunbeam is a familiar name so it caught my eye. It offers a slick ‘anyheight’ side lever to lock the top section into a fixed position so it’s easy to melt cheesy tops, it’s a simple and effective solution. My only issue is the 4 sandwich thing, they must be small slices to fit in. If you expect to fit any hi top bread you will need to accept only 2 at a time which means longer cooking time. The smooth heat surfaces and perfect as they are so easy to clean, you can even do an omelette in it. And lastly it heats up super fast. Show details ·  1

Brilliant unit

With the cost of living increasing so quickly, we decided to get our own sandwich press to make our own preferred sandwiches and save money taking all the kids out for expensive cafe food. This unit is great. Everyone can make their own type of sandwich and they come out brilliantly, just as good as a shop bought one, at a fraction of the price. More than paid for itself after just a couple of months. Need to be very attentive with kids trying to make their own, but that's the case with anything that heats up. Variable height control is good if they load up on fillings. Making 6 at once is fantastic, as nobody feels they're missing out. Show details ·  1

Great sandwich maker

The Sunbeam sandwich press exceeded my expectations. The heating plates ensure the food is cooked evenly and the grill marks provide a nice touch.

And let's talk about toasties – they're an absolute flavor bomb on these grill plates. Add a smidge more butter and a drizzle of olive oil, and you're looking at a seriously satisfying crunch.

The heating plates on this thing have a bit of depth, which is awesome because I can toss in a splash of liquid to help steam and then sear up my veggies with those killer grill marks.

But wait, there's more! This sandwich press isn't just a one-trick pony. It's a game-changer for reheating cold slices of pizza to perfection and giving those leftover hot chips a second life. Show reply

More than a sandwich press

Tried the 4-slice sandwich press and maker in it’s obvious way - for a grilled cheese toastie and then as a pan, making some eggs with baked beans. Quite happy with it, the lid works well and it was really easy to clean afterwards.

Happy that I went for 4 pieces, making it easier to cook up a few things at once (think brekkie board with eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms). Pretty much makes the frying pan redundant!

Haven’t used it for long yet, but seems quite sturdy as well as practical to store (an upright position is helpful). Show details

Best small appliance

I was given this product to test and it’s been amazing. It works well to not only cook food but also to reheat food!

The heating plates have a little depth so I can add a bit of liquid to help steam then sear my veges with the grill marks.

Toasties also taste fantastic with the grill plates…. Add a little extra butter and olive oil and you get a nice crispy texture.

We also love using the sandwich press to reheat cold pizzas and hot chips.

Overall, the Sunbeam sandwich press exceeded my expectations. The heat plates ensure the food is cooked evenly and the grill marks provide a nice touch. Show details

Compact, perfect for small kitchens and easy to use!

I’m very happy with my new sandwich maker. It heats up very fast, and the height control lever is such a great feature. No more squished wraps for breakfast! So good.
The non-stick surface and the round corners are game changer, it makes it very easy to clean.

Hi I still havn't had an answer from Sunbeam Australia after many emails and 2 phone calls. unfortunately i won't be Buying for my sons Birthday today as time has run out to get the answer about whether the plates are made free from PFOA chemicals or not.
