Generator has been great since we bought it over 2 years ago . We had a power outage that lasted 4 days early 2025 and due to the large fuel tank only needed to fill twice . As we have the house power board set up to plug direct into the house with the generator , it is a simple operation to power the whole house , fridges, all lights,… Read more

communication gear , even air conditioning when needed . Have tested the generator with all power equipment drawing and the generator sits at 5.1 kva , turn off air conditioning and it settles at 3.9 kva , with normal usage during the day it sat at 1.2 kva . We had the generator operating 24 hours per day during this period and it didn’t miss a beat. Great bit of equipment for those of us who live in the bush

I mostly use my Honda EU70 Generator to power my home during power outages and 15 amp equipment such as welder, power cleaner and the likes. While it has only worked for 32 hours other than an oil change it has been trouble free, extremely reliable and quiet which is a big factor due to living in the suburbs. Show details

This machine so far and I expect this will not chang e has been gold for us. Living remotely in South Australia with constant power outages has its challenges. This 7KVA genny has helped us out around 5 times already. Great on fuel, reliable electric start, and pretty quiet. The only thing it won't run is our TV (who cares anyway with the rubbish… Read more

that is in nowadays). It runs all the important stuff easily like kettles, fridge/freezers, coffee machine, no need to adjust revs if you add an appliance as it does this automatically. I would not hesitate in recommending Honda to anyone.

Just brilliant, very happy with this – What with 13 significant power outages in our area within the space of 9 months, like the previous reviewer we needed something to keep the house running. That includes the pressure pump that controls our water supply, HWS, two reverse cycle air con units, big TV, computers, 4G broadband modem/router, 2 refrigerators, electric kettle, all the… Read more

lighting, etc, etc. It cost us about $2,000 for parts and the sparkie's labour to plumb this in to our switchboard. Now, when we have a power cut, I walk outside the back door, push the start button, flip a switch, and bingo, we have power for the house again. Not sure if will also cover the electric oven, but that's not a biggie. The only, only drawback was that we had it delivered and the courier was not permitted by his company to run his forklift down our driveway, so dropped it at the front gate. I comes unassembled, but pre-serviced with oil. I had to install the wheels and supports, but I was instructed not to tip the generator on its side to do this because it apparently will play havoc with the oil. Since I was doing this on my own, and the generator is HEAVY (well over 100Kg), this was quite a task. But I got there. I'm not sure it's as quiet as others say, but we barely hear it inside the house. Total cost was around $8,000 including installation. The way I look at it is, the first power outage cost us $8,000. The rest are free.

Superb-beyond my expectations – We live in a rural location with a rather unreliable mains power supply and without mains water. So besides the normal household appliance such as fridges, lighting, electric stove and oven, washing machine, TV, computers and integrated air-conditioning throughout a quite large (350 sq./m) house, we have a deep bore emergency water supply (pump… Read more

750 Watt/ 5,750 Watt starting load) and in-ground water tank (pump 1700 Watt running 9,200 Watt starting load). We have no need to run all this equipment at the same time in fact we never expected either the air-con or water tank pump to run off the generator. After connecting the Honda EU70 to my home via transfer a switch in our main power-board (allow around $1,000) the electrician asked for lighting and appliances to be progressively turned on. The air-con worked and was left running. We then switched on both pumps, I expected the Honda to stall, it revved-up a little but didn't miss a beat. At the same time the electrician and I were conversing at normal voice standing right by the generator. Indoors it was a gentle burbling hum. One company given details of our needs as above offered 20-22kW non inverted generators with prices up to over $14,000. So the Honda EU70 at less than half that capacity and price to quietly take this load in its stride was most impressive and simply amazing. I have several other Honda powered machines, all of them including a fire pump which is run every two years, start first or on a bad day, second pull. When comparing generator inverters look at and compare the engine capacity (cc); engine performance (engine torque and kW output) and speed. Some claiming similar output to the Honda have nearly 30% less capacity and most are not fuel injected so use more fuel. Some generator inverters run at double the (rpm) speed so more engine wear, much more noise and again thirstier on fuel consumption.
