Hoover H9560 Lark Bagless

Lucky it was cheap because it is useless for day to day cleaning – Very poor suction for general cleaning, the brushes seem to flick the dirt everywhere. it's also quite noisy, and the handle flexes every time you use it. On the up-side, it has pretty good suction when using the attachments on the hose, and it does a great job of cleaning the pet hair off my car upholstery. Show details
Excellent value for money – After using several expensive branded vacuum I have found the Hoover Lark leaves them wanting. The Lark is a compact cyclonic, bag less upright unit. Very easy to empty and clean thanks to the clear dust collection container. With adjustable height selection it can vacuum hard floors, rugs, mats and carpet without a problem. with extension pipes and accessories to allow cleaning of furniture, skirting boards, etc.
The handle and body collapses to allow it to clean under chairs and raised furniture.
We used an expensive vacuum the again cleaned with the Lark and was amazed by the amount of dirt left behind by the $300 unit.
For an inexpensive vacuum, you cannot go past the Hoover Lark.
How to break drive belts – Suction is good, machine not too noisy BUT the brush drive belt is overdriven by the small diameter of the motor shaft and is broken every time the brushes hit even a small unevenness in the carpet, even with minimum brush protrusion. We've had two belts go in short order, and refitting a belt is more fiddly than it needs to be. We will be taking the machine back to where we bought it and will seek a refund.
Don't buy this unless you want to get dirty – a rubbish cleaner but a cute design. Wheels squeak after a few uses. After vacuuming, not well really, you must empty it and clean the filter. This takes longer than vacuuming my house ! You need another vacuum to clean the filter plus a nail to remove the dirt fold by fold !
Terrible – I've been married for 29 years and have had many a vacuum in my day but this is by far the single most inefficent vacuum I've ever owned -and I've had the little barrel vacuums from the eighties! Maybe I just got a 'dud' but I found it to be absolutely useless on both types of floors, and rugs. I could almost hear it chuckling wickedly to… Read more
itself as it neared dust or fluff because it knew it was going to run straight over it and leave it on the floor.
Seriously though, useless on every floor type.
I've since returned it to whence it came and have received a refund. Um... the colour is nice.... This is by far THE worst vacuum I've ever tried. Laughs at the dirt as it approaches it.
Good – i love this vacuum cleaner and wouldn't trade it for another it suits my family of 5 perfectly and cleans the carpet really well. light weight, folds compactly, cleans the carpet fantasticly, easy to clean, bagless, hepa filter :) when used on tiles it doesn't pick up the dirt it flicks it into your feet because of the beater bar at the front, it would be better if you could somehow turn off the beater bar fo hard surfaces. at $99 from costco it cannot be beaten – easy to use light cleaner, comes assembled from the box.have had hoover before and found them very good and reliable.the earlier hoover larks were heavier and not as efficient at picking up,this is perfect.nice long cord all tools carried on board.would recommend hover lark to anyone and being bagless is perfect and easy to use. the price and two year warranty.
Good – Best lightweight vacuum that I have had - I would certainly recommend it and the price is great. The filter is top class It is light and easily manouvered, picks up dust exceptionally well and a great filter.Cleans right up to edges. Takes a little shaking to get the dust from the bagless collector.
