Absolute disaster – Bought this machine less than 2 yrs ago and from my experience will never buy a Hoover or recommend one. Warranty what warranty...if you live in Australia guess what ...Hoover no longer exist in Australia. This machine floods from underneath and despite 4 attempts to have it repaired under the Warranty I have been left hung out to dry by the Manufacturer and the warranty provider. The machine is completely useable, electrically unsafe and a complete disaster - 4 call outs and no machine for 6 weeks and a fortune in repairs now required to my laundry from the water damage this machine has caused.

The Warranty in Australia does not existing and the support from Hoover is appalling... Customer Service is not in their vocabulary.

Buyer Beware and be prepared to purchase another washing machine in less than 2 yrs.

My advice... Don't buy a Hoover EVER there is no customer service or support in Australia and the warranty is not worth the paper it's written on.

My experience with this machine and the treatment I have experience is that they don't care less, will offer no replacement or refund. The experience has almost put me off buying another front loader for life.

Well done Hoover well done....you have lost a customer for life and word of mouth is a powerful advertisement.

Good for a small family – Was absolutley sold after the first wash. But you need to do regular loads compared to a big top loader. Saves on water and you need half the washing powder. Gentle on clothes. Whites are coming out stain free without need of a prewash. I tend to use the same settings all the time. Produces a clean wash. I had to start using softner in rinse. need more spin and temperature options on the 44min wash.

Nice slim machine – I was renovating my small unit's kitchen, and needed very slim washing machine to fit into the kitchen cabinet. I looked everywhere and Hoover was the only brand which had an washing machine over 7kg with the slim depth. I used this machine for about 2 months so far and didn't have any issues or problems. It washes my towels and white underwears really clean and washed few of my wool sweater nicely without damaging them with wool cycle. slim design, various cycles to choose, energy and water efficient. little bit noisy when spinning.

Good machine – I have owned this machine for a little over a year now, we had to purchase a new washing as our old one would not fit at our new house. Overall it is a good washer with few cons. I do miss my old top loader though. Energy efficient, good wash, multiple cycles, sensitive care and stain blaster options, prewash for heavily soiled clothes Expensive, spin is very noisy, I think delicates wash is too harsh, alot of clothes have pilled, makes clothes hard after wash (I think this is normal with frontloaders), bad experience with warranty call centre though quickly a received apology from state rep after seeing store.

This machine has a 3 year wty and extended out to 6 for extra $56 and has free delivery and install so is one of the cheapest and best machines I have ever come across. It is quieter than the Bosch and Electrolux. Clothes that pill need to be put through the sports mode which is designed to reduce that complaint, especially microfibre and lycra. Choice magazine gave the vhd8144d the award as the most gentle front loader out. The only difference between the vhd812 and 8144d is the latter reduces cycle times. If clothes come out hard you need to reduce detergent and spin speed.

Yeah your towels should only spin at 800 to avoid stiffness
