Great cooler just a bit noisy – Really happy with this, has lasted over 6 years and I run it for long periods without a big change in my electricity bill. Just wish it was quieter, the motor is quite noisy. Highly recommend regardless!

Perfect for a rental – I did a great deal of research into this as we were not allowed to put in an AC in the rental we are in. With a three month old baby and no ceiling fans it's criminal! However this unit has saved us. With wood floor boards and an open plan house I can shut up the house and have it cooled down a good several degrees just from running it for an hour. In Brisbane where it can be hot and humid and quite unbearable this was welcome relief. Never going to be as good as an inbuilt but I've owned portables before which have been rubbish compared to this one and we bought it second hand. Definitely worth while. Hotpoint should definitely build on this system, there are not a lot of good portables on the market!

Excellent for small rooms – We purchased this air conditioner when we were about to have our first baby. We were living with my mum and her house didn't have air con. So we put this in my bedroom where the baby slept too. My room was so cool and bubs didn't have to suffer through the heat. Now 4 years later, in our own home with split system aircon in the living area, we still use this for the master bedroom on those really hot nights. Works great!! Easy to pack away when not in use. Cooling is excellent – I am very happy with this unit - it has been much better than other similar units I have owned. I picked it up in the middle of a heatwave, and the cooling that it has provided has been excellent. We use it mostly in a large bedroom with connected ensuite, and it is able to work it's magic in no time at all. It is portable and quite easy to move around, but I am considering buying another so that we can cool rooms in different areas of the house.

Thanks to this little guy, I can now sleep comfortably! Reliable, excellent cooling, and quiet in operation. Yet to try the heating, so unable to comment there.
