Mine is TE250, but aside from the smaller piston it i identical – I have owned this TE250 Enduro bike for 4 years and it is by far the best offroad bike I have had the pleasure to own. Pros - Very light, circa 103Kg - Sharp steering and excellent chassis - Maintenance friendly and has exhibited unbelievable reliability. I have 175 hours on mine (all offroad) and am still on the original piston and rings,… Read more
checked regularly and still in excellent condition.
- Light on sprockets compared to previous 4 strokes, I am still on original rear sprocket and my second front.
- Sufficient power (yes even the 250) and easily tuneable via jetting and power valve spring change/adjustment
- Light handling and tractable power mean I can ride all day without becoming too fatigued, My previous 450 4 stroke was a handful and after a few hours became a chore to ride.
Cons
- Not many, it's pretty horrible to ride extended at high speed (>120km/hr) and on the road, but lets face it that's not what the bike is designed to do.
- The rear PDS (no linkage) shock and snappy 2 stroke engine can unsettle the rear tyre easily. Handling is still excellent, but honestly traction is not.
- Stock rear shock spring weight is light. I have uprated mine to suit my weight (90kgs with gear)
- It does vibrate far more than previous 4 strokes, especially at idle. This also tends to loosen every bolt on the machine, so make sure you get familiar with the Loctite, torque wrench and regular bolt torque checking.
- 4CS forks are not to everyones taste, being a bit soft for real high speed work and a tad fussy through the stroke. Mine did recently blow out their oil through the seals (somewhat common with age, apparently) and I had them rebuilt locally without any hassle. I personally find the valving and spring rates spot on for my recreational trail riding, but if racing on this would firm them up.
Actually Husqvarna TE 300 – Brilliant machine Must do list - Suspension too soft - fit Ohlins front and rear Power a bit soft - blueprint squish (TSP Melbourne) and fit Kreft P.V adjuster Tailer ergos - Higher bars and seat I fitted Renthal fat bars and the Husky Power tall seat. Pivot pegz and PHDS adds the finnishing touches, now ride and enjoy! (This bike wins races easy as proved last weekend!) Wrapped in this Bike!
Best steering bike I have been on – Done about 7 hours on it now and absolutly loving it. Steering steering steering. First off stopped to check the front end, thought something was wrong because I kept cutting corners. Relieized it turned instantly when you steered it, no delay so took a while to get used to. Bought the map switch for it, great when you get tired after a while with… Read more
full power. Good looking bike. Looking forward to doing the Finke desert race on it. Steering, steering, steering, power, ease of maintenance with 2 ticker, easily adjustable forks, makes it easy to adjust while playing in the bush, larger fuel tank, ergonomics. Actally too much sting in the tight stuff for me without the map switch, tired me out quickly.
