Average mower – Kohler 17hp engine replaced by Husqvarna after 5 minutes startup from new on my property. Governors let go inside motor. Kohler engine always sounds like bottom end knocking when accelerating from startup (Single Cylinder). Blades damage easily if you hit sticks or stones. Transmission very jerky and noisy after a few years, especially in… Read more

reverse. Overall the mower is reliable and economical if you keep grass short. My property is 2.9acres. Don't let grass get too long. Price, economy, reliability and handling ok. We have had it 14years. Only replaced battery & blades when required and services. The Molded cutting deck needs scalping wheels as the front catches things and bends easily especially the baffle place edge. Cheap vinyl seat cracks after a couple of years use. Very expensive to replace seat now in 2020. Been a good mower.

ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS – After 5+ years of trying to get this mower to cut grass by running over it 3 or 4 times.I have given up and decided to never ever buy husquvarna of any kind again. Before I bought this I was convinced by a sales person that this was a hardy machine, the motor is good but the idea of having a mower is to mow grass not beat it to death with an… Read more

inferior machine only good enough to pull the trailer they supplied with it. Damn shame I can't give it only half a star.

High priced parts – Had my Husky LTH 1797 for 8 years. 350 hours. Kohler motor replaced in first 5 mins. The governors fell apart inside after start up. Immediate replacement by Kohler, no problems. Doesn't like thick grass, i always have to mow high first without catchers. Steering popped out this morning while mowing in a straight line short grass. Tie rod… Read more

disintegrated? Mower belts don't last and very pricey. After market H/duty blades far better in price, strength and balance. Would I purchase Husky again? Definitely not!

Pile of Rubbish - Dont buy it – Biggest pile of crap I have ever owned. Brakes down every year without fail. Local dealer in Canberra has no customer service skills either, never has any parts in stock and takes months for the orders to come in.

Best mower ever had – 325hrs and just changed 2nd belt on deck, had a pretty hard life too. Been through 3 sets mulching blades in that time. Never failed to start.Replaced battery last year after 5 years. There is nothing else that comes close to Husqvarna.

Hydrostatic – Be careful that your hydrostatic is actually serviced by your dealer, as mine died after 600 hours. I was told this is a sealed unit and dosen't need servicing, but this is not the case. Now have a mower that will only mow for 10 minutes and then has no forward or reverse.Anyone else experienced this problem, would love to know how to fix, without spending a fortune?

Husqvarna LTH1797 great mower – Had this mower for four years and have never had an issue with it. Had to sharpen blades once in that time, always starts and never stops. Like anything I guess look after it and it will look after you! Great mower and very reliable, Kohler motor model the best... Reliable and easy to operate

Biggest piece of rubbish – Brought mine brand new from Gippsland mowers, biggest waste of money ever.the motor has been good but the steering and the mower deck are a total waste of money,a tin can is thicker than the mower deck, that's why every weld on the thing has broken or cracked.steering arms bent so one wheel is of center.I would never buy a Husqvarna again..... expensive, built cheaply, bad welds, bad metal

As good as a Little Tractor – We moved from Victoria to Tasmania and our LTH1797 purchased in 2008 has been nothing short of miraculous. Has leveled a two acre block with the original height of the grass being in excess of a metre in some areas. The grass around the house area was at least 60cm in height when we arrived. This little machine has been used virtually as a… Read more

tractor and apart from replacing a fan belt it continues to chug away today. All we did was start cutting the high grass on the highest number and then reduced the cutting height accordingly. Hubby has rigged up a portable harrow system and our LTH1797 does a beautiful job of spreading the manure. Only negative comment I would have is $70 for a replacement belt is a bit steep. Reliable Parts can be pricey.

5years on – My LTH1797 is now five years old and has been used extensively on my five acre horse property.. It mows the house paddock beautifully, mows down the roughs left by the horses, manages deep sand, wet areas, rough terrain. It pulls my trailer that is always full, of felled tree branches, rocks, manure and feed bins without a problem. It drags my… Read more

scarifier and seeder all day without complaint. I run a mulching blade kit and it does a great job of doing exactly that... nothing on this property goes to waste, all is returned to the earth. The only down side that I have found with this machine is that the professional services and replacement belts are pricey.. Answer do the service yourselves.. which is what I now do. It's simple enough, there are instructions in the manual. Goes a long way on a tank of fuel, is comfortable. Professional Service Expensive. Replacement Belts Expensive

satisfactory – I have had my 1797 for 4 years now and it has performed as expected. The normal things to expect to go wrong [as with all machinery] Stumps will re disign the cutting deck, not enough use will flatten batteries, bolts come loose replace belts before they break and blades dont cut if blunt. I always serviced it myself [for novelty value] Power… Read more

was on the low side, struggled in 6inch grass, was definatly a push to cut.

I always used the mulching plug[safer with kids],and eventually used alternative blades ,much better and lasted longer.

The cutting deck ripped off, but I suspect it was 1 stump too many. I would not buy a rideon without guide wheels on the deck,I wish I knew this before. But the replacement deck was $350 I can't complain .I mow 1 acre in about 2hrs now, in and around trees .It is ok name brand ,cheap replacement parts, and belts Guide wheels make all the difference. I wish I didn't listen to the sales rep .I would have spent the extra on the wheeled deck model
