Hustler is shady – This review is for Hustler in general and specifically the Super Z Hyper Drive. I bought one brand new in March 2022. I am a commercial lawn care provider so thought this would be a good buy. With only 2.4 hours on the unit, the right hydro gear drive stopped working. It is now mid June 2022 and the unit has been in the service center for 2.5 months. I am waiting on a back ordered hydro gear. Hustler seems to be ok with producing new units but not fixing old ones.

What is even more concerning is when I tried to leave 2 reviews on the hustlerturf.com website, they do not post the review. When you hit submit it says it will be posted after a “moderator” reviews it. I am considering pursuing legal action.

Purchased in for $17,000.

Not up to Hustler standards – We own a lawn care business and have had 3 other hustler mowers that we loved. Last season we purchased a demo Hustler 72" Hyper Drive with the 37hp EFI Vanguard. We were told that they had to replace the wiring harness but assured us that it was just like new. That was far from the truth. The mower would periodically decide not to start, even after it had just been running. I had finally had enough one day when it wouldn't start and told the dealer to please figure out what was going on because it was slowing us down and huring my wallet. After a few days and some back and forth they said they had tied the wires better due to a loose connection. I started it up and loaded it on the trailer and took to the job site. I went to unload it off the trailer and it wouldn't start do back to the dealer we went. This time they said they changed the wiring harness. I went and picked it up after another week. We started mowing but never seemed to have the power it had before. So guess what....after all those troubles and I haven't even stated everything the engine dropped a cylinder at 950 hours. That's not the worst of it because I have warranty RIGHT?? I do but HUSTLER WON'T STAND BEHIND THE MOWER THEY BUILT. They say since it's a Briggs engine that it's Briggs problem. NO!!! UNFORTUNATELY IT'S MY PROBLEM! I can't wait on them to decide so I have to purchase a $3000 dollar engine so I don't loose my mowing contracts. That's my TRUTHFUL Hustler experience.

Trouble – This mower has a real fault where any grass can get caught between muffler and heat shield causing a serious fire, also the heat from where the exhaust exits causes one cylinder to over heat and cause major problems, the deck is to thin where spindles they are housed causing the deck to twist and warp i have had all these problems including this mower to completely burn to the axles. Having said this a lot of the problems have been addressed , but no compensation for me, bad after sales service. From distributor not the point of sale small horse are great to deal with.
