Hyundai Tiburon

A fun and underappreciated Car – I owned my Automatic V6 Tiburon since 2010 and it has been a blast. For a Sports car it definitely has its weaknesses. It is a front wheel drive, the Semi-Automatic feature is fun but slow response and it's not a particularly fast sports car. Regardless, I love my Tiburon. For a car built back in 2003 it has aged well and never had any technical… Read more
issues. The car is reliable and handles well considering its front wheel base. I like the interior and exterior design although some aftermarket aesthetics would help it.
Aftermarket support for performance is very poor and I couldn't recommend this as a performance platform (but I did it). However if you work on its exhaust, air intake, headers and replace the upper intake manifolds you really unlock its potential and then the engine sounds absolutely amazing.
I'm planning to keep my Tiburon for as long as possible. It's just so reliable, fun and good looking.
Good first car – This was the first car that I bought when I got my license. I think that cars are really catered to certain personalities and this car really suited me. I’ve always handled things roughly, and the handling is pretty stiff, which I’m perfectly okay with. It has a v6 engine so it’s quite powerful and is a pretty good performance car. seems to have good amount of torque. I would have thought as a six-gear manual car, you would be able to travel 120km/h or more without it revving too much. It tends to eat up a bit if fuel if you drive like a maniac. On average, I would fuel up $45-60AUD per week. It has been a reliable car and I’ve never had any problems with it. The interior is really nice and I’m happy that it isn’t completely leather. The seats have a mesh material in the centre, which save me from being cooked alive in summer. The adjustments to the seat aren’t that great but I’ve gotten use to what I’ve adjusted. I also get a lot of complaints from friends about the back seats, with little leg and head space. I can’t say much though, I feel like the tiburon is suitable for 1-2 person(s).
Surprisingly good car – Driving an MY09 OK its not a Porche, but it works for me. Its fun to drive and ticks all the boxes. It has enough torque to not need to rev, but goes when it does rev. Solid feel on twisty roads. Also has good luggage space and big hatch (I can fit my mountain bike in easily). Previously had an MX6, which I would have replaced if they still had… Read more
them. The Tiburon is a good replacement. I tried Celicas, Preludes and MX5, but the Hyundai is a better drive than any I tried. Fun to drive across the board of town, freeway and twisty mountain roads. Lacks a refined interior in terms of layout, looks and quality.
Good – The first review here says it. Fun car with grunt for its size and good handling for what you pay. 5yr warranty and for the small things wrong over 2 yrs there has been excellent back up service. Disappointing that the controls aren't dash mounted for stereo etc but the quality is fine. Good kuggage capacity as the rear leg room means no… Read more
passengers are likely to be carried long distance. Small kids or amputee dwarfs only Handles well, great engine (particularly after it frees up when run in). Looks good and has people guessing Forget the back seat, poor rear vision (but thats part of the design)
Excellent – This car is worth every cent you pay for it. Don't believe what the critics say. Hyundai has a winner. I cannot wait to see the new model and hopefully be able to afford that too. I will keep this one though. The shape. The perfomance. Smooth sounding engine Decent ground clearance. The "cool-leather" seats The blue backlighting on the dash.… Read more

So many people asking what it is. Suprises when I say it is a Hyundai.
Fuel consumtion and the fact that 91 octane is good enough.
Trouble free. Should have Ipod jack. Only has line input.
Bad – The car looks awkward from the outside. The angles just seem all wrong. Inside the car feels sombre as everything is dark and the controls dont seem to be naturally placed. I couldnt adjust the seat to my liking no matter how long i tried, and the dash is too cluttered for a psorts car dash (which needs to be simple and easy to read). The car… Read more
doesnt feel very responsive when you drive it, though the engine does have some go - not that i would try as the car just feels awkward, i think its weighted forward too much. An unsatisfying drive and a car i could not recommend. Cheap. Engine has some go. Looks quite ugly actually.
