Ikea Gullunge Changing Mat with Cover

Fantastic Value, Highly Recommended – In lieu of a wooden change table we opted to get the IKEA change mat + covers and change dirty bums on the laundry bench instead of the carpeted nursery. This has proved to be a very smart move! We have saved our poor carpet from destruction by bodily fluids and saved a lot of money. At less than $30 for the change mat and two covers it has earned its value many times over.

The covers are comfortable, quick to take off/put on, easy to wash, quick to dry and have proved durable. They are cute too! We bought an extra pack to have 4 covers in circulation, which helps when accidents inevitably hit the change mat and you go through a new cover seemingly every nappy change.

The change mat itself is very portable, and appears to be comfortable for baby. It consists of a plastic-covered foam base with three inflatable sections attached. These are inflated via mouth-operated plastic valves. My boy loved spending time on his change mat, so much so that it was one of the places we put him to try and calm him down when upset.

Do be careful when placing the mat on surfaces with sharp pieces, one of the inflatable arms of my mat has a small puncture wound from where I accidentally placed it on a small, sharp piece of cat litter. This could be avoided if IKEA designed the mat to have the foam base going under the inflatable sides. Thankfully the three arms are all separate from each other, so a pop in one doesn't stop the others from inflating.

Overall, a very cheap and effective system that I would rate the full 5/5 if the foam base covered the bottom of the inflatable arms too. Cheap, comfortable, hygenic, covers super fast/easy to change Foam base should cover under inflatable arms to prevent punctures

Excellent – I love this change mat. It was a very good price. It's very easy to clean and I just bring it with me from room to room to change my son. I don't even bother with a change table now. Cheap, easy to clean
