Ilve CU89 Series

$700 down the drain – Not the current model, but similar to current CU89 series. This unit failed form the beginning after being installed, integrated into my cabinets, ducted etc. Halogen lights blew constantly along with the switch being dodgy. Under warranty, the control switch was serviced - control wiring not installed properly - a pretty poor level of quality control for such an up market brand. It continued to stutter when turning on. 5 years on, the whole control unit needs replacing with wires shorting out all the time. We called Ilve to book a service call, and were told to wait. 6 weeks on, no contact. If I could rip this thing out and replace with another brand I would. Be wary of the consequences of a fully integrated rangehood as you are stuck with very costly replacement, or service and repair at the whim of the manufacturer. I have found a private service technician $430 SO disappointed. PS not at all a quiet appliance.
Purchased in at Ilve appliances for $700.
Its ok – Rought from EandS trading. The unit is concealed within a cabinet. Mostly Happy with the product. Not whisper quiet, anything above level 1 is too noisy, level 2 noisy, level 3 not much different, airplabne about to take off. Level 1deals with most. Lights are good and bright. Apparently the ducting is quiet important, ours is pretty solid so not overly concerned its that. Expensive for what it is.
