Horrible product, doesn’t work! – Wish I’d read this forum before buying. It does not do what it says on the bottle even when over applying per the instructions AND on their own products (integrain timber stain). I had bought ~$400 worth of other products to use post stripping which I’ll be returning for a refund. What a waste of a days work!

Waste of money and time – OMG - I’ve spent 3 days of solid effort trying to lift a water base stain of my deck with this product @$50 per litre and are $200+ bucks down the drain with little to no result. INTERGRAIN you should be ashamed of yourselves for selling this sub standard and expensive product and I won’t be buying your subsidiary products as a result. I only wish I had read the reviews prior, I would have saved myself the heartache

Way too expensive and coverage is minimal – I used this on a deck and it was fairly easy to use but the bottle went nowhere. $116 for four litres which was not enough to complete the deck - about the same price as replacing the deck with new timber - the directions claimed the stripper would cover about 2sq meters. Ouch big time.....

Good product, though not as easy or practical as I was told – This product is not too difficult to use, though I did find the odour strong and although I used it on my deck, it wafted through the house and that concerned my family. It goes every thick and sticky and isn’t so easy to just blast off with a pressure cleaner. I was trying to remove some old Cabot’s Aquadeck that had broken up in parts and was… Read more

patchy, this product did do that, but only to a point, not fully, it took a lot of pressure washing to get the deck cleaned. I think this works better on painted surfaces, not surfaces with deck coatings on them! Not so sure it’s very good for the garden and surrounding environment once it’s sprayed off with the pressure cleaner? Expensive! Update 27.05.19: Every time it has been wet since then the smell has returned...only lately has it dissipated.

Does the job but very expensive and time consuming – This stuff is good but it takes sooo much time and money. Its great for small areas or small items but don't even think about it on a deck. For a deck I used Caustic Soda from Bunnings. $5 for 500g and add 100g per litre of water and dissolve fully. Dampen the deck with water first then apply with a broom and let sit until you see the coating… Read more

start to dissolve. Wait another couple of minutes just to be sure and then scrub off with water or pressure cleaner (not too close). The wood will go black but then just wash down with reviva (i.e. oxalic acid) or rust and stain remover (oxalic acid powder at Bunnings much cheaper). It gets very slippery during application so be careful plus caustic is nasty stuff so be carefull when handling and around paintwork.

Masters had a minwax product which was awesome and i worked out it was just caustic soda.

Overpriced and not a good product for the DIY – I bought 4 litres from Bunnings, $96 and read the coverage details. Indicating .5m2/L = 2m2 for a four litre container. I was going to use the product on a deck approx. 15m2 = about $750 worth of product, if one coat was sufficient. Fortunately I was able to return for a refund. Now looking forward to sanding to achieve what I want.

average good product – This is a product rebranded from “Liquid8” to “Timber Stripper Intergrain” by Bunnings. Way over priced (AU$ 92.00) as effectiveness is not that great with a very small coverage, 2 square metres by 4 litres. If you need a good job look for alternatives. Certain area of the deck I was doing had to be run two to three times, that’s where cost… Read more

play role, and still not 100% cleaned.

Would not recommend for older decks with history of 2 - 3 coats of varnish.

Made my cabinet new again – I purchased Liquid 8 about a week ago. I needed a paint remover to take paint off the kitchen cabinets. This product works great, it made the cabinets look new again. The directions are very clear. All I had to do was refinish them. Now there is not a trace of paint left and the finish is like new. It was AMAZING! removes paint very fast

Brilliant decking stain remover! – We re-stained our deck with a product that was too much like paint & was put on too thick, nothing was removing it & we couldnt sand the deck as the boards are reeded side up. We finally got put on to Liquid 8 & it worked immediately. Lifted the excess stain/paint stuck in the grooves & removed some of the overall stain. You'd probably need at… Read more

least 2 coats to completely strip the timber back to it's original colour but this worked perfectly for what we wanted with one coat. Worked quickly Dries quickly & needs to be removed while still moist, kind of expensive
