IROAD V9

Customer Service – I have a 4 year old V9 which became stuck in 'park' mode. Went back to the original installer to see if they could identify the problem. Said it was a faulty camera and tried to sell me a new model. I contacted iRoad Australia who were able to identify the problem as a faulty power cable and am back running as good as new. Great technical knowledge and customer service from Matt and Irene. Show reply
Service support – I have been contacted by the IROAD service personal since my initial review, they had been experiencing some communications issues, they have been extremely helpful towards the support I required and are in the process of updating software problems for connection to my smartphone. Poor service – I have been trying to contact this company for the past two weeks regarding technical help. Every time I call no one answers and I have left several messages to no avail. I sent them an email and got a response that they would get someone to call the very next day and no one called. If you cannot get assistance with their product I highly recommend that you don't buy. I am in the process of returning my products. Show details
Easy, Simple & Reliable Product- Higly Recommend – Bought the IROAD Q9 For my HSV Maloo about 2 years ago now. Has been a reliable product that’s so easy to use and simple to install, Choose the 64 GB memory which means it can go days while recording. Highly recommend avoiding the cheap versions of other dash cam brands & paying the money for IROAD. Well Worth It. Show reply
Everyone else seems to love it. Not me – Bought this dashcam upon recommendation from a friend, from the installer who sold me this device, and after having read raving reviews of this item from overseas reviewers. Paid A$760 for it (including installation) and had it professionally hardwired to my car in March 2016. It has been 1 year 6 months since... Full HD image quality (front… Read more
and rear cams) is in my opinion, just OK. Good in bright Australian sunny daylight setting, but fails miserably in low light condition, such as multi storey car parks and city roads at night. I cannot see the number plates of cars around me unless we are all stationary). It has some good features such as options for audio recording, which mine unfortunately did not work well. My audio recording is intermittently cut off whenever my vehicle encounters a hump/bump. I had to return the device (and my car) back to my installer twice, and even he had no idea how to troubleshoot this issue. In the end, I just had to set the audio option to permanently OFF.
I like the various warnings that comes with iRoad V9 but it simply becomes too noisy and distracting if one were to select them all! There is warning for impending obstacles (example when a car swerves into my lane), warning to move my car when the vehicle in front moves away, warning for deviating from lanes, warning when it encounters humps and bumps etc.
The most frustrating aspect of this device is that it does NOT have a ON/OFF switch incorporated into it. This is especially annoying in my case because when hardwired, iRoad V9 automatically drains battery life even when my car engine is switched off (parking mode). I drive a Mazda2, which comes with an iStop system, which unfortunately does not operate at all unless the car battery is well charged. Even setting the dashcam configuration to a 12.2V cut off limit does not address this issue at all. It would be OK if there is an ON/OFF switch available so I can switch it off whenever I don't need it, but there is none. I am left with no choice but having to physically pull out the power cable everytime I park my car at home and turn off the engine (vice versa when I am about to drive off), so as to protect the car battery life.
And then, there is the software which only reads .jdr files. Until today, I still have absolutely no idea how to convert the generic .jdr files into other common video files such as .avi or .mp4. Am I right to say that there is no way one could display a captured Event, say, to the car insurance company in the event of an accident, apart from having to make them install an iRoad software into their computer first?!
Dumbfounded...
If not for the fact that it has been hardwired to my car, I would have sold it in eBay months ago.

IROAD V9 Review – Was planning to purchase a Blackvue 2 channel cam after already having one in my husband's car, after being talked into getting the IROAD V9 it has been the best decision I've made. Works great connected to my Samsung Galaxy. I can easily save footage straight to my phone through the Wi-Fi connection. The quality of the front and rear cameras are… Read more · 1
amazing both being full hd. Another feature that has made it super convenient for me is that the camera has automatic updates and also never has to be re-formatted.
Very happy customer, definitely recommend!
