Ironman 4x4 Steel Side Steps

Pretty standard build quality for Ironman products – I bought these for my Amarok as it didn't have factory steps and being a work car they help loading things on the roof. They are pretty light duty, thin wall tube with thicker brackets and crush cans. They have aluminium plate on top which is also powder coated black - I will wait and see how this wears. The inside of the tube was rusting, new out of the box, they haven't had any form of treatment or electroplating.

They mount with ridiculous fish plates inside the chassis, hard to line up and fit, easy to drop inside and almost impossible to retrieve. Why would you not use the more common C-Bracket or U-bolt that goes over the chassis?

My car has ARB accessories too, the bullbar and canopy, liner etc and although I'm far from an ARB fan boy it must be said the gear just is better made, thicker steel, cleaner welds, more logical fixing points etc so I'm a little frustrated with Ironman products which usually have a nice aesthetic but don't have the same build as the two top Aussie accessorie suppliers.

This is an OK product for an OK price but far from the build quality of more premium and pricey brands. Its doing the job after the initial frustration of a difficult install.
