I wished I checked on this website earlier – I wish I looked into this forum earlier. I did exactly the same mistake. Bought a replacement heat lamp and found out that's not the problem. The connector or wiring inside must be faulty. Certainly didn't expect that from an expensive product. Not sure about how efficient the fan should be. I do know my mirrors fogs up. Now my bathroom would be ruin to change to another product. The ceiling is custom cedar wood and there would be a big rectangular hole there. Patching would be so ugly.

Slimline, Great Look, Very Pleased – Electrician who has installed two of these models in my own home. Slimline, great look, very pleased. Extra cable required as the fan operates from a fan switch or via a temperature switch in the fan circuit when the heat lamp switch was on. Inline ducted fan to outside vent.
Poor quality and reliability for the high price – Very disappointed with these units. I have two singles installed, one in main bathroom and one in ensuite. Had to replace the lights with compact fluros and then with expensive LEDs for any useful lighting level. Now one of them has a bunt out heat lamp retainer and has burned the end of the lamp as well. Replacement retainer is not available, I have been told that I need a whole 'carcass' costing $352, add the cost of a lamp, its nearly the cost of a new unit.
Other reviews suggest this is common problem, if it a design fault, why such an expensive fix?
Even in the small ensuite, with the window open, the extraction is poor

IXL Neo Dual sucks because it doesn't – Wow, what a waste of money. IXL SHOULD WITHDRAW THIS PRODUCT. We specified these units in an ensuite and bathroom. The builder made an error in the bathroom, installing a cheaper no-name brand unit. It works great and the expensive IXL Neo Dual does not. It has little or no extraction. It is installed correctly. IXL should stop making excuses. I don't care about the lights. It cannot stop a mirror from fogging up in an ensuite after a short shower. This produce looks pretty but is not fit for purpose. I'm installing an addition fan because I don't want to patch the roof on its removal. Looks Extraction
