great machine – I have had this machine for 8 months now its my first Janome and I LOVE IT. It is easy to use I have not found any problem sewing through thick materials it hasn't hesitated and I just love using it. I know its a quilters machine but I don't actually quilt, I want to at a later stage, so I have sewn clothes, curtains, upholstery etc and I am in love with it. So glad I purchased this machine I usually buy Husqvarna of which I have always been happy with. I hoped I wouldn't be disappointed by changing brands and I can honestly say that I am not. Great machine would not hesitate to purchase Janome again.

It served me well – Mine has to go to hospital. I bought mine in 2002 in Dandenong. It did the sewing I sat back. Silly me I never got it serviced. It sewed perfectly for 12 years with no problems. It even recently sewed a handbag. Stretch stitches are fantastic better than and overlocker

Slow and frustrating – I had a compact Elna before that had more power. The max speed is slow and it skips and breaks the top thread at the slightest thickness. Doesn't handle bag making well due to thickness. Ok for sewing seams but then very slow. Has some good features ie needle up. Very heavy machine too. Wish I had bought something else. Not enough power, slow stitch speed

Sturdy, strong machine. Just what you expect from a Janome – Apart from a short foray into a different brand, I have had Janome machines for 20 years. I purchased the 6260 last year and while I have not had much opporutnity to sew, what I have done has been good. The stitches are even & the decorative stitches all come up evenly. The machine is easy to use & thread. Ease of use, ability to sew thicker fabrics, price
