Don't waste your money – This is the worst machine I've ever used! Not worth the price. Not even good for a high school home ec class. DISGUSTED that a brand like Janome could put their name to this!
Purchased for $689.

The worst machine I have ever owned – The stitches are too small, and I have to alter this every time turn on the machine Cannot open the side panel to access the light to see what you are sewing, nor to quickly access to change the bulb.
Bought to upgrade – Bought to upgrade from my excel18w. Was guaranteed best replacement, and supposedly good for quilting. Sews slowing compared to excel, gap between feed dogs and presser foot can’t fit quilted items through, have to tilt machine to see reverse button, and to top it off comes with only 2 pressure feet, so have to buy more feet as aren’t interchangeable with excel. What a waste of $700 only upgrade to me is that it’s fully eletric

Disappointing – Purchased machine at a great price and was looking forward to the many functions. However, I have found it too be fussy with the type of thread. The thread catches in the upper guide and snaps and / or causes poor stitching underneath. I have wrecked a few projects. Reading other reviews I find people think it’s great but not me.

Hello Annette, Thank you for your feedback on your Janome DC2150. This model is not one of our machines which has a hinged opening side cover, the light is an LED strip which is plugged into the machine internals and not able to be changed out by the machine user like a standard globe, if the light needs replacing, please take your machine to an authorised Janome Retailer. In regards to the stitch length, the pre-set stitch length on a straight stitch is 2.2mm for everyday cotton or poly-cotton fabric weight, using heavier weight fabrics recommend to increase the stitch length which increases the feed-dogs movement in feeding the fabric as you stitch. If you feel there is an issue with the machine, please take it to an authorised Janome Retailer for them to check your machine.
