Janome DC3200

Janome DC3200 machine: Not user-friendly - avoid purchasing – Sewing shop staff encouraged purchase of this machine a few months back after my 40 odd year old Husqvarna broke-down. I do not recommend the Janome DC3200 machine. The issues include looping of the stitches, a lack of power when starting off on even slightly thicker fabrics than basic cottons and when crossing seams, and an unattractive stitch. Despite having sewn for decades, I am constantly wasting time having to work out what is going wrong. The instruction booklet is poorly set out and snippets of the same topic are scattered without reliable index referencing. The main issues present as being related to tension - this machine is poorly adaptable to different fabrics and requires constant fine-tuning. The trick to starting sewing even slightly thicker fabrics only works with one foot so this limitation is a nuisance as the material frequently fails to feed. I am writing this to encourage those seeking a reliable sewing machine to research alternative machines as this one is more than frustrating. Regret purchasing it and I am no longer enjoying sewing.
