Janome DC6050

Versatile
This is my 2nd machine. My first did the basics like buttons but I needed more features. I needed to sew heavy materials & more advanced stitches.
This one has loads of features, does the basics well; but it requires you read the manual & the troubleshooting section if things aren't going as planned. I've wasted a lot of time cursing the machine only to find out I didn't understand what I required for that piece of specialised material and thread. For normal fabric it's a breeze. But I sew up to 3 layers deep of thick webbing with v69 upholster...Read more

I like it!
I really enjoy using this machine, I have had a few issues, but they are mostly due to me not knowing how to use it properly, with a little reading of the manual, it has worked out just fine. I was happy with all the extras and it certainly has been a fabulous machine to learn to sew on. I have only been sewing cotton.
Purchased in March 2020 for A$650.00.

Great all rounder sewing machine
I wanted a lightweight machine for travel and to use at my sewing guild group twice a month. I looked at several machines which were lightweight (the 6050 is 6.4 kilos or 14lbs), had adjustable pressure, speed control, snips, needle up/down, needle threader, stop/start button and a decent variety of useful stitches including auto buttonholes. I wanted a full size machine, not the 3/4 size such as the Janome Jem.
Standard accessories are
• Zigzag Foot A
• Overedge Foot C
• Zipper Foot E
• Satin Stitch Foot F
• Blind Hemming Foot G
• 1/4˝ Seam Foot O
• Automatic Buttonhole Foot R
• Stabilizer Plate for B/hole Ft...Read more

Very disappointing
I bought this machine for the fancy stitches but they are so tiny it is hard to even see what they should be. My machine stops at times with an error code and I have to wait for it to settle before I can start sewing again. Only seems to sew normal cotton material, anything a bit different or thicker and it skips stitches so the stitch ends up about 1/2 to 1 inch long. It builds up dust in the bobbin area very quickly as well. It's a pity as I love the needle threader which works very well and also the spring foot. Am going to sell it and get something different.
Purchased in May 2016 at Janome Everton Park Brisbane for A$699.00.

Nice machine when it works
Purchased the machine July last year. It is a nice looking machine with a good accessories pack included in the price and great features. When it is having a good day it sews really nicely. When not having a rare good day the machine is hugely frustrating. and I usually just give up. The machine will just stop sewing for no apparent reason in the middle of a seem, give an error code that the manual says to return the machine to the manufacturer for repair, skips multiple stitches while top stitching and when you press the stop button you don't ...Read more
know when it will stop, could be immediately or after up to a dozen stitches. Turning the machine off and then on seems to reset the computer until the next problem. The machine has been returned to Janome twice since bought who can't seem to find a fault with it. The first return about 6 weeks after purchasing it was gone for about 10 weeks. The second return after the error code was about 8 weeks after it came back it was gone for a further 8 weeks. I had high hopes for this machine as it is a well featured machine. I don't know if I just have a lemon that Janome should be replacing or not. Very disappointed with the product I have received.Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

Thought this was an upgrade...not
I thought I was upgrading from the 6260 quilters choice as it has a thread cutter and supposedly can handle thick fabrics. Don’t buy it, you will be disappointed. It is noisy and has trouble with fine fabrics, and thick and stretch is a nightmare to do. I would happily take it back. I have had it 3 weeks and hate it, thinking of selling and getting an older and more reliable machine, biggest mistake ever. I don’t even want to sew anymore
