Janome Memory Craft 9700

Doesn't sew or embroider without braking thread – Have wrecked so many pieces of fabrics because the thread keeps breaking or jamming when embroidering or sewing. This machine was a big waste of money! I've had it in for service several times with no success. Not sure I will buy another Janome because of this experience. When I do have time to sew I just get frustrated because it doesn't work properly.  Show details

Excellent machine - love it! – I've had this machine for 5 years now, it runs beautifully! Can be picky with thread type for sewing and embroidery (prefers Gutermann for sewing and Marathon for embroidery). It's a nice heavy machine, easy to transfer designs from the computer, three hoop sizes, easy to change from embroidery to sewing mode, colour screen, easy to follow instructions. I haven't had a problem with this machine - love it! :)

Thought I was getting an excellent machine – I bought my machine and instantly fell in love, however my thread kept breaking, I thought it was the type of thread so I had it cleaned and bought Floriani thread. Won't embroider at all now. Very disapointed. I feel like I was misled. I had a siger futura before that I was very unsatisfied with. Thought for the price it would be better. I like the ability to adjust sewing speed and the ability to easily add and delete designs Tension!

Never again – I would never buy another Janome again. Alignment is always off, serviced twiced and still not fixed. Always have birds nest. When embroidering, my thread brakes at least 15-20 times. Most frustating machine I have ever sewn on.Never winds a bobbin evenly and always feels spongey.Jams the start of stitching into the feed dogs and creates a mess.

Threading is simply very easy, sews embroidery very well – The memory card and holder was in the machine however to download from the net I had to purchase a card reader. After hunting around I finally took the machine in to the computer shop who then supplied the reader. spent several dollars I am very disappointed that due to my lack of understanding of this very old card and reader system i.e all the machines now seem to have a stick that you simply download onto. The system that I have is very old as the computer shop assistant informed me. I was led to believe this was still a very current machine to purchase and only years young. If I could I would definitely have not purchased this machine but would have upgraded. Having said that I have had no trouble with this secondhand machine and I am very happy with it. Would recommend buying another Janome. Easy threading, good stitching Bad warranty service as none given when I purchased this from a Janome dealer in Bunbury who was onselling it.
