Best speaker package I've ever heard under $2000 – The title says it all really - to look at them, you wouldn't think they were much - the centre especially being quite compact and none of them even all that heavy - but what they lack in size they make up for in sound, and I've heard some good speakers over the years. These retailed for $1799 at the time but I got them on run our for $1199 which is just ridiculous - even more ridiculous is that I've seen sets go on eBay for $600. If you spent $600 on these it'd be like paying $15K for a Ferrari.
So in summary, if you're after something -reasonably- compact, cheap and sounding amazing, these are THE way to go.
Really happy with surround speaker package – Purchased a full speaker and amp package from J B hifi last October, and I love the sound they put out considering that they are not high end speakers they work really well. I have been quite surprised with the sound quality and would recommend them to any one, even if they are a older model now..... Price, size, sound, and they look nice..... Would of preferred the sub woofer be front facing, not floor facing....
Good solid performers – Bought these about 2 years ago, no issues to date and they do the job of what I call a crossover between home theatre and a home stereo. If your after something with good sound which doesn't take up a lot of room then consider them. They re also appealing to the eye with or without the grill on although I run mine without the grille as it is not acoustically transparent, when on the tweeter is less noticeable making it less crisp but it's not really an issue. Size and performance for price
JBL-hey Carlos Santana use's them – Great speakers in General-Bought them as a pack from Harvey's and am very impressed. The subwoofer is a little lazy but as this review is for the individual speakers I am more than happy. The speakers have titanium tweeters which sound crisp without being tiring. Although the lower bass is very light (seems like an above 60htz speaker to me) the mid-bass is strong as is the mid-range.
A great set of inexpensive speakers that still perform well with a small amplifier (just get a good quality subwoofer-the matching JBL one is rubbish)
If you put a larger amplifier (as I have) with these speakers and you have no desire for Home theatre (without a sub, hometheatre is weak)you will love these for the money. Great sound from a small(ish) speaker, needs a very mild amp to getting them singing (mine came packaged with an entry level Harmon Kardon), little bit weak in the bottom end-definitly need a subwoofer to get the full spectrum of sound
